  1. It's the price we pay. An awesome backdash but a (near) useless forward dash.
  2. Bah. Humbug.
  3. Oh. That would explain your continuous spamming of 6C-5C-2C during curse. :3
  4. I agree with Senkei. Skye needs to fight MainG_Jago's Mu.
  5. Oh no, I fake out quite a lot. In fact, I revolve a lot of my usual gameplan around it (when I'm not being nervous >_>). It's just I never really see other Arakune's do it. Makes me think I shouldn't be revolving my gameplay around them. Even though I use them decently. Then again, I like to think my aggression is very good, but my defense sucks ass. So fake-outs help me compensate me for that by making the opponent hesistant. And I want to punch all Mu-12 players in the face. I hate Arakune Vs Mu far more than I do Arakune Vs Lambda. Rage. I just hate that character so much. Thank god D Bug picks her up now. It's the only matchup where I will actually just choose someone else most of the time. Like Hazama. Even then, I still hate her. Not even against Lambdas or Litchis would I change my character.
  6. Since when was damage the only legitimate reward for breaking someone's guard? Tager can try to do a 6B, so that they can reset them, force them to do something stupid or get them in the corner. Or. As Axy said. Get meter gain.
  7. No man, I love the Scarl one. I was just saying how I thought "Proto" when I saw it. XD. But thanks for the offer. As I said, Scharl is still my main. :D
  8. Awww, that Clarice is built for Proto. But at least Scharl is my Second main! :3. I'd like to have it please.
  9. I swear, I'm starting to think I should never fake-out. Like ever. Copperdabbit never does it. Nor does Skye and AbyssKnight from the looks of it. *sigh*. You played really well in all of them. I can't believe you were able to do 5C Diveloops in your first tourney. I was fumbling all over that. Must be French nerves of steel. To quote Skye. "Good Shit."
  10. Dix played WAYYY too aggressively. If the Arakune is being defensive and setting up bugs/clouds----charge. Charge. And Charge. 5 Charge Tsubaki hurts. Anyway, on the Arakune, I thought it was good. The spacing and movement was really nice. Three things. And Kiba is going to call me a hypocrite by the way, >_> 1) Don't Purple Grab 2) Try to get the execution for doing the Bug Loops more effectively. 3) Do more IAD j.B. That Tsubaki didn't use 2C almost at all, but against ones that do, falling J.Bs get destroyed. So practise on making the aggression a bit tighter. But yeah, you did better than me at my first tourney. So good job. :3
  11. Onl;y you would be more annoyed by Noel's 3C more than Ara's curse. IT'S UNSAFE ON BLOCK! *kiba rage*
  12. Wrong choice of words. Sorry. Anyway, I do 5D as a meaty to let them know that I can do it for free curse meter. Then, they keep on the look out for it and try to counter it when I do it again. Which allows me to block said 623D and punish for 100% curse meter. Sometimes, you have to spend health to get damage. :P But yeah, Kiba trolls us too hard. He makes everyone in Britain look free. He'll astral anyone. T_T
  13. Clarice is the best. I love her with Lightning. Pure aggression and 236B->Charged 2E is shananigans.
  14. Makes me feel salty though. I beat Fuzzyness in the group stages and I ended up beating the Winner of the tournament in a 7Vs7 later on. Edit: Oh yeah, the Winner was BlackJaguarXD, he's a Tsubaki who apparantly fights you often?
  15. Alex you need to stop hating on Chun in Stream, man.
  16. Awesome avatars. A Clarice one would be awesome. Clarice is the best. :D The Parace and Fiona one are the best so far.
  17. You think that's bad? I recently went to my first IRL tournament. I had nerves. But I did really well in the group stages and ended up beating a really good Mu in the Final 8. Then we went to the big TV for the Semi-Finals. My first time playing in front of a crowd. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX2EYuhtAsg&feature=player_embedded I did so badly, I; Didn't IAD once. Didn't do the Dive Loop Correctly. Spammed Bell Bugs even though I knew not too. Did 2Ax3 and then 2C ON BLOCK CONFIRM. Messed up the end of the loop, which would of killed him. Terrible bug placement during curse. Messed up J.C Crossup TWICE. The worst was the bellbug though. Everything else was nerves. But why the **** did I summon Bellbugs when I knew that was the worst thing to do? *sigh*
  18. Time to revive this. Is there any effective way with dealing with Hakumen? Pressure gets me countered a lot. Being tricky with fakeouts and baits just ends up with me being hit because of his moves' incredibly large hitbox. Zoning just gives him meter allowing him to do, what I'd say, is the best 50-50 mixup in the game. Since he can literally turn any hit into an incredibly quick low or a fast overhead. Not to mention that Arakune's zoning is limited because Bell Bug being slashed gives Hakumen a huge advantage. 5C is uselss, as Hakumen's dont airdash in. They high jump in and do j.2C at an angle, making 5C lose. His normals are plus on block, making backdashing incredibly risky. Arakune has trouble dealing with Counter Whiffs because of his lack of a dash. He also has low stamina, a couple of 2-5 magatama combos is basically the end. On top of that, in curse, he can cut through your bugs and pressure you easily due to J.C, Counter and his +Block Normals. Stuff like lockdown becomes insanely harder when he uses counters well. Any advice on how to play this matchup please? RTSD just seems impossible and zoning feels futile. He can keep Arakune in the corner well and can force him there quickly. I lose to more Hakumens than I do Mus or Lambdas just because I don't know what I should be doing.
  19. Rachel. That's it. Edit: I suppose technically Carl does not have one either. Though Cantana will still hit.
  20. Plus, 2D cancelling is a good neutral reseting tool, than a tool for applying pressure. Tsubaki's attacks have weak blockstun. Combined with the fact that 2D has a 5F recovery time, add the truth that it takes more than a frame to press a button and let go of it. Then the startup time for 5B or the fact that she'll need a dash to do her quicker attacks. Even if you 2D cancel and close range into 2A, you're still left at a 12F disadvantage at LEAST. Anyone looking out for 2D can easily poke her out of it. That's really where the only scary problem of Tsubaki comes along. You have to pay attention to when 2D comes out, but also if there's going to be an unblockable 22D. But we're talking about pressure here. Most characters can just jump back when Tsubaki does 2D/22D and she's basically lost all her pressure. And I'm not even including IBing. Jesus.
  21. Pressure - Strong without curse. How? Arakune has the worst normals in the game. Plus, the lack of a forward dash and a quick Air Dash hurts him massively with pressure. Not to mention he lacks range, a lot of his normals are unsafe. J.B is his only good pressure tool. And even that is beatable with many anti-airs. Arakune's pre-curse pressure is HORRIBLE. Yet alone strong. Even if you're talking about Zoning pressure, 2D and 6D are too imprecise. JD can be DASHED through, and clouds don't even have a hitbox. Arakune is a character that plays defensively so they can punish approaches or turtling with curse meter.
  22. I'm a little confused about what you mean about by this. At first I thought you meant do 3A->3B -> Block...but it seems more complicated. But still, thanks for the help Kou and Skye. I appriciate it.
  23. Except three differences. 1) Lambda's zoning is infinitely stronger and does have mixup, along with breaking primers. Arakune's bugs have no mixup and no primer break on the ground. 2) Lambda can punish sledges on reaction with 236C. Arakune's 2C requires spacing. 3) j.B can be easily 2C'd out of. Even if it trades, it doesn't matter, because Tager can continue the combo.
  24. Plus. I dont see how 2D shouldnt be causing me trouble when all of Arakune's lows suck and it can teleport him anywhere in a direction.
  25. Except that's my problem. How can I mix him up when a) All of Arakune's normals can be IB 360d. b) He can deal with J.C crossup by doing 2C and c) i'm moving? I can't even do 3A, 3A cause he spams 5A at every oppotunity.
