  3. 4D>d.214D doesn't work all that well if you've already added a 6D>236A, for a midscreen into corner combo for instance. I dropped it more than a couple of times because of proration.

  6. Just play with her, there's no other way really. -First you should try and learn how she moves around. Noel isn't THE most unique character so moving around shouldn't be an issue (although you should keep in mind that she has above average mobility, so take advantage of that). Being familiar with how your character moves around probably is the most basic thing, and helps your neutral and zoning game a fair bit. -Second, I ought to quote Hex on this one but yeah, learn her moveset and how to use it like you're learning tricks to please your girlfriend (or boyfriend). These two steps will pretty much determine whether you'll get good with her or not. No real point in learning damaging combos if you can't land them. Actually, just look at the post just above mine and think of it as some sort of Bible. I do think that combos come before hitconfirms but I could be wrong. Just ask for advice whenever you're stuck and you'll do just fine. Muscle memory will help you a lot for combos and hitconfirms, and pressure strings come from your knowledge of Noel's moveset, so practice a lot and you'll improve in no time. On a side note, I totally skipped the first two steps so I'm still stuck at an average level. Piece of advice, don't skip these.

  12. Whoa, repeat proration on 22B starter would likely kill this combo but IDK. If we get some video proof this works, maybe the repeat proration on 22B starter isn't nearly as bad as we thought.

About his guardpoints, while 2D CH nets him lotsa damage, I think the most dangerous one is 6D for a simple reason really. 6D's GP protects him from any mid/low blows, and I can hardly imagine anyone trying to sneak an overhead in while the GP is active. One thing you definitely can do is 2D over his 6D though. It's way risky but better than getting CH'd for free, right?
  16. After playing a lot of Carls offline, there are 2 things I have learned. First point, you better have an awesome guard. If you ever get stuck between Nirvana and Carl with no heat, you're in for some heavy duty blocking. If you can survive long enough though, Nirvana's life will most likely be empty. THERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO RUSH THE SHIT OUT OF THAT SHOTA. Second point, I know I'm going to get yelled at for this, but 2D is simply godlike in this matchup. It beats absolutely all of his tools except 6A so the only time you shouldn't 2D is when he's near Nirvana, but if she's dead it doesn't really matter does it? 2D auto locks on Vivace so he can't get away for free, or rather, MAKE HIM PAY. Carl has no real reversal, take advantage of it.
  17. Ooooooooooooook, so let's get started. First point, j.D outside of combos? surely you're not thinking about using it against stronger players, are you? I hope not. Second, 22B mash nets you soooooooooo much more heat and damage, you just can't afford not to use it, learn it ASAP. Even if you don't use optimal combos, you should at least include this in most of your midscreen stuff. Third point, I know 2D and 4D both lead to tasty damage, but it's not like your thumb will go out of shape if you leave the D button alone for a few seconds. Random driving can and WILL get you killed. Bang could have 2D'd every single one of your failed driving attempts into 5k, luckily he didn't. My point is, D may look like a ticket out of everything and anything, but it's not (I know from experience). Use it sparingly, just like booze. Fourth point, I'm actually surprised all of those blocked 3Cs went by unpunished. You shouldn't use it recklessly as it's OHMYGODLY risky. Last but not least, since you seemed to be asking for it... LEARN NOEL ALL OVER AGAIN LOL. Nah, I won't go that far. Keep going at it with what I pointed out in mind and you'll probably do much better next time. PS: Don't worry dude, I'm garbage lol.
  18. Really? I only had my 3C stuffed at point blank range, when I'm trying to stuff a spacing 5B, it works wonders.

  20. Players just need to be a bit more open-minded. Also, beating down others like they're trash isn't exactly the best idea ever. Go easy on them, or so I would say if they did not have their stupid "DONTCHU GO EASY ON ME NOW, YO" pride. Meh...

  22. 6A is just amazing, CH leads to tasty combos and normal hit gets you a nice airthrow setup if you do it right.
  23. Yeah, one wrong move and you're in for trouble when facing Haz. Anyway, other than specific stuff, any advice about the general approach to this matchup? I've yet to update the General Strategy part of the thread.
  24. Something about stuffing 214D~A with 5A. Don't follow it up with an air combo but with 5A>6C>OB>66C> stuff. Better damage and ending it with AT oki keeps Hazama close to you so you can put even more pressure on him.
  25. One thing you have to look out for is the double grab trick. Ada purple grabs you and obviously, you tech, then comes fucking Karuru who grabs you. Pretty hard to see coming if you're not being wary. His 5C is an almost godlike zoning tool too, beats most of your normals with its incredible reach.
