  1. Well, the storyline justification I always felt would do it was that she had only Tager as a pawn and Litchi is now essentially in enemy hands (and not just any enemy but Hazama, who she obviously dislikes). Figured it would be easy to just make her reconcile with whatever makes her dislike magic, roll up her sleeves, and do some work. However, given the short story thread it does look like she just gets yet another person to do the work for her.
  2. Goddamn Koichi's Kliff makes him look ridiculous. Especially that insta-dizzy FB.
  3. Eh? It's a way to make your reversal 720 a safer guess at the cost of a whole burst. That hardly seems like a big deal.
  4. Speaking of new Testament, that brown Test in the Mikado freeplay vids is hella scary. FB skull is nuts.
  5. Some people seem to like that style (Chris G. comes to mind) and the closest we had before was Dizzy, who is still more effective on offense. Though FB spears looks very good. It certainly doesn't seem to be too annoying considering her lack of mobility as opposed to somebody like Nu from BBCT. So at least once you get in you stay in unless you eat a combo or get reversaled.
  6. I highly doubt people will be able to actually completely crush your guard solely through crush trigger anyway. They seem slow enough to react to with a reversal so nobody should just be blocking multiples back to back.
  7. How much is 1200msp as a dollar amount? I imagine 10 or 15?
  8. Bullet looks to have a lot of mobility in her heat up states. That ground dash at max heat up was hella fast. Amane's drill gauge drains surprisingly quick though. I like that his movement specials allow him to combo from his far normals like that though. I wonder if Azrael will be able to set a weak point and then do a followup to it in the same combo.
  9. Awesome info about Anji. Any word on Kliff/Justice from people? They seemed decent in the Mikado vids, but if some of the guys in japan here had first hand experience seeing/fighting them it would be great.
  10. That Potemkin air combo ending in j.d was pretty hot.
  11. Looks good so far. Kliff and Justice both look at least semi-legit, though the Justice was jumping in a ton which hopefully was just the player and not something Justice is forced to do. Johnny seems way scarier. Anji still seems meh, though his changes were fairly subtle iirc.
  12. Not really Rekkas iirc. 2 of his specials have a property that if you hit the enemy and they have a weakpoint he can followup.
  13. I know during the Fanime interview way back when we asked Mori about rematch and he just said no lol. No real explanation was given. Though considering P4A doesn't have it either maybe there's some reasoning behind it.
  14. I'm hoping the maximum style potential in the combo system is increased. I know optimization will make most tournament combos end up similar, but I'd love to not see another 6 minute Ragna or Noel cmv of the same combo over and over. So far I really like the ideas behind the systemwide changes outside of longer OD for low life. Especially since they seem to have uses both inside and outside of combos which is something a lot of moves in the game lack.
  15. If you let your opponent get away with 4 CTs in a row or close to in a row, it's probably not the game that needs to be changed. These things are comparable to GG dusts or persona overheads in speed after all.
  16. My favorite part of that video is that he says he really likes the game so far and isn't a previous BB player. Thanks for the link!
  17. So I thought Crush Trigger was a thing to make some moves guard Crush if not barriered. However, it seems to be popping up in combos as a move of its own. Is it just an extra command attack for all characters then? I noticed it looked like none of Tager's other moves when he seemed to do it in the loke test vids.
  18. I'm liking that you can chain what looks like j.c into his very down angled j.c for Amane. The guy in the vids didn't test trying to do the dive special after though which made me kind of sad. Looks like midscreen damage for a lot of people is decent now unless you get a bad starter too. Saw a lot of 2.8-3k and that's obvious non-optimized stuff. Azrael seems like a pain to get his normals to combo though and the guy never did like any special moves or supers for combos. In fact, almost nobody was using their supers. Saw a few use what looked like the guard crush though. Especially Tager doing guard crush into B driver lol. Game is looking good overall, though Overdrives have seemed rather underwhelming so far. Hopefully they turn out creatively and we get some cool uses/combo vids. (WTB Lush combo vid please!)
  19. Isn't this like exactly what happened during CS1 loke tests? And then he ended up as bs anyway?
  20. Dan ranking almost sounds like some nationwide Danisen thing. Or how the old (was it SC or VF?) ranking thing worked.
  21. As long as we don't have to pay for the +R update I'll be happy.
  22. It's super too early to be talking about either at EVO. BBCP release date will be a big factor in the possibility of even showing up and P4A has to keep its attendance for almost a year. We haven't even seen the numbers for P4A at a major yet, let alone 5 majors in a row.
  23. In case you are actually reading the thread I'll try to respond. The game is not JUST the Persona label. It is a fine stand alone fighting game. The name may certainly be helping its popularity, but if that's what it takes to get people to try a good airdasher then so be it imo. People who dislike Blazblue are picking P4A up for a few reasons. They may be more into the characters from playing persona games. P4A gets rid of a lot of innovations many people disliked about BB such as the teching system, throw system, and guard primers. P4 also makes it easier to punish people for bad use of jumps thanks to no barrier and jumping having more frames where you can't block. The gameplay speed of P4 is also a good bit faster than BB thanks to hitstop and movement speed. P4 is a great entry game as well due to things like a basic auto-combo and 2 button reversals. They let people unfamiliar with airdasher fundamentals get used to them easier and focus more on decision making rather than execution. Personally, I think BB has more depth to it, but P4A is a solid fighter that has all we've come to expect from ASW along with some nice innovations (looking at you 'hold a button to tech') and a system that makes it great for players new to fighters/airdashers. It has decent balance, good netplay, a good amount of gameplay depth, and a mass amount of single player options.
  24. The 30th ones are just for creativity anyway. Challenge mode has never been that big a deal unless you don't use the resources here. If you can finish them through 29 though, you can probably do the good bnbs at least.
