Not necessarily. The decrease in level means that our opponents will recover faster after a 6C, but that doesn't mean we'll recover any faster. If the recovery on 6C stays the same as it is in CS2 with the level decrease, it'll technically be even harder to land since there's an increased chance of us being poked out of it.

It's been said before, but try not to use 5C as much as you do; using it from full-screen and at the start of a round isn't a very good idea. Try and use neutral techs instead of rolls in the corner since they're a lot more difficult to punish. You don't seem very comfortable with zoning that much. Lambda's close-range game isn't particularly strong, so most of the time you'll want to be trying to keep your opponents at bay with swords instead of charging in head first. Your combos need work. You almost had something here (minus the bluebeat), but went down a sub-optimal path and then didn't finish the combo. Make sure you're confident in your confirms and know what combos you can do and when so you don't end up with wasted opportunities. Th key things I feel you should be focusing on right now are getting your zoning and combos then. You'll need to work on your fundamentals too (blocking, applying proper pressure, etc.), but you can decide whether you want to focus on that or the other two things first. Honestly, I don't feel the need to comment on your play all that much. You seem pretty strong fundamentally, you had your combos down and your execution was great to match. Both of you played the match-up well in my opinion and even though you seemed to struggle keeping Yarin out at times, I feel that has more to do with him knowing how to get around certain things (like this, for example) more than you having bad zoning skills. Other than that, I'd just like to point out that you had plenty of time to 2D Yarin's Swallow Moon here and I'm not sure why you didn't. You passed up on good damage here, but that's a minor match-up related thing anyway. Oh, and I lol'd at your cheeky throws. :P

I need to play more Tales games. The only one I've played is Vesperia and I haven't even finished that yet. 7 hour difference... It's basically a hack that can let you do a lot of things with the Xbox like playing homebrews and games from different regions, for example.

Yeah, what Luna said, seph; you posted that at around 4am my time lol. What timezone are you in?

You told me those were gifts! >:C But yeah, if/when I get my hands on Extend before an EU release I'll probably treat you to food and games. Or bring the PS3 to yours and continue leeching. Refer to Chaz's sig and you'll see why no fucks were or ever will be given.

Either that or he clicks the big "Frame Data" button at the top of the page before he decides to drop bombs.

Yaaaay... Real talk though, I haven't touched CS2 in about a week, but I might play with you in the near future. Maybe. =w=

I wouldn't be against the idea of the second post with videos thing, but couldn't we just put a link to Emjay's archive with the respective match-up in the first post? Like, JPN Ragna vs. Lambda matches? Either way is fine of course, but this way does save Toan a job.

What's the matter, Sym? There's nothing wrong with subbing Tsubaki. She's a perfectly good character.

Thanks. If you just follow the layout here (i.e. match-up rating, recommended playstyle, etc.) you should be alright. We'll add all the information and whatnot later.
-
If you want to make the Extend match-up threads, then be my guest. I'm still going to archive your babies though.
-
Fair enough. Then as long as everyone else is fine with it, I'll archive the old CS2 threads and make the new ones later tonight.
-
Nah, getting them all up there at once would be better I think. I also like how the Noel forums have handled the layout of the threads with all the key information updated in the first post to avoid having to sift through pages of information, so I'd like to emulate a similar style unless anyone has any objections.

I think the main thing that is always gonna keep Platinum from reaching the high ends of the tier-lists is just how random she is. There's no way to be consistent with her when you're constantly adapting your play depending on what item you have without any way of knowing what you'll get next. It's probably not the best thing in the world that not many people play Platinum either, but that shouldn't stop you from figuring out some good tech for yourself. That said, Extend seems really balanced so being C-tier might not be that bad anyway (Noel, for example, is also C-tier and she seems to be doing fine).

Listen to this man, Chao. :3

Some nice sentences you got there.

All my jelly. :<

I could do this for you. I might not be available at the same time as you due to timezones, but if you make a spectator slot and let me know when you're ready to be recorded, I'll try my best to get on.

I see a good future for the Zepp Museum.

I didn't manage to watch all your matches, but here's what I got: Your combos and execution are fine for the most part, but I noticed you dropped TK Cresent in a lot of places. You may want to practice getting more consistent with the input. You don't use TK Cresent mix-up. I'm guessing that this is because you're not confident with the input judging from the dropped combos involving it but, if you can get used to using it, it's a really useful skill to have. When you get a hit with 5C, try and confirm it into 3C > 236D instead of 6C > 236D. Using 3C gives you better oki that most characters can't escape from and gives you better mix-up potential (IAD > j.B, Cresent Saber cancels, etc.). It's also better for corner combos since 6C has repeat proration. You do some strange confirms at times too. I'm not sure why you do things like this since you seem to know your combos, but just be aware of it so you can figure out how you can fix this. Your zoning isn't too bad, but it could use some work. Make sure you're always aware of the space between you and your opponents and what your best options are (you used 6D twice when your opponent was running towards you for example). You seem to have a good understanding of the character though, so hopefully you can use this to just polish up your play a bit.

Yeah, pretty much. But as Toan said, player tendencies are an equally important part to consider too. Noel, for example, has a projectile that can snipe you from long range while you're trying to keep her away with swords, which would make zoning with D seem like a bad idea. However, if you know you're opponent hasn't been using it all match then it might be a good idea to use your drive anyway. So basically, keeping a good distance, trying to get inside your opponent's head and being aware of both their options and yours are the key things to be thinking about when using drives to zone.
