  1. I'll do a thorough analysis of this stuff once the official translation comes out, and compile a list of CS2 > EX changes like I did for CS1 > CS2, but in the meantime, I was looking at 5BB - it's not any slower than it was in CS2, so it seems like the reason it's a frame trap is that Tsubaki's followup moves aren't "real" gatlings, per se, so you can't immediately cancel to them on hit/block. You have to wait until the followup window, which on 5B (at least in CS2) is after the active frames pass. So it's not that 5BB is slower, it's that you are "forced" to delay it more as a result of 5B's longer active frame window.
  2. Unless my sanity has deserted me entirely, specials overall are almost never (Almost in there because the world is full of exceptions rather than because I can think of one) super cancellable.
  3. I'm officially going to be there for this, but I won't be there until, uh, well, my train doesn't get me to Penn Station until 12:50, so however long it takes me to get to the venue from there via subway. I'd still like to join the BB tournament if possible, but if not, I guess I can play casual.
  4. Not strictly BlazBlue news, but an interview with Daisuke Ishiwatari about lots of stuff related to Arc System Works, fighting games, and patches. Please feel free to split off if this is the wrong place for this.
  5. >confused< In the CS2 frame data, at least, 214A has exactly as much recovery as 214B.
  6. ...Ragna? But seriously, it's not, IMHO, noticeably better than the other "long range" 5Bs in the game - Makoto's, Bang's, Platinum's, etc are all pretty comparable to Tsubaki's, and all of them are markedly faster.
  7. Actually, unless other people got nerfed in this department too I think Tsubaki now has one of the worst 5Bs in the game. The range isn't really that good except when compared to how bad the range is on the rest of her moves, it's SUPER SLOW for a 5B, and it no longer offers any meaningful pressure by itself because you HAVE to cancel it on block to avoid being negative. It's a tool that gets used because we have nothing else to fulfill that role in extend, not because it is good.
  8. I thought we'd already concluded that 2A had had it's attack level reduced, and was therefore no better than even.
  9. I wouldn't be too cheerful about it, considering that he currently rates Makoto better overall (She manages an A in Neutral.) I'm assuming the B+ in defensive viability comes as a result of A) Having a DP (The characters who rank poorly in defensive viability tend to lack one. Lambda, Tao, etc.) and uh, maybe B) 214X series invulnerability. B+ Reward assessment is probably a result of her having more options for leading into high damage than some characters. (22D, 3C, 5C, 6C). You could argue for B without the plus in both categories, but frankly, the one that confuses me is neutral viability.
  10. Considering that 5A was negative in CS2, the odds of it being plus in EX are, in my opinion, slim to none. >resists the urge to say something bitter<
  11. If Tager is throwing out random sledges to try to close the distance (not sure if that's what you're describing or not) then, well, Sledge is crazy slow and you should be able to 214X (or 236X) it on reaction. Or just 5B in the face.
  12. In extend more than ever, barrier block is your friend vs Makoto.
  13. Screw brownie points, I want REAL brownies. Points may pay off someday, but chocolate pays off now.
  14. Doesn't this result in the Wiki sortof being trapped between versions of the game, since that blockstring info is for EX (Hence no 5B > 5BB) but all the frame data is still for CS2?
  15. The problem here, as I see it is that our blockstrings are back to almost CS1 status. Our safe blockstrings appear to consist of: 5B> 5C > 5CC 5B > 2B > Nothing 5A > 5A > 5A / 2A > 2A > 2A And that it's. Am I missing something here? Edit: Whoops, I probably am. 2B > 5C is probably safe now thanks to the speed of 5C. That improves things a bit. Still kinda poor if you ask me, but better.
  16. My hyperbole aside, do we have any reason to believe that 5BB is slower? Because that's the only way 5B>5BB becomes a frame trap.
  17. If 5B > 5BB is a frame trap, that means 5BB is slower. The added recovery on 5B has no impact on the 5B > 5BB gatling, because the recovery is cancelled. Unless they reduced the attack level on 5B and thereby reduced the amount of blockstun it creates. And if 5B > 5BB is a non-viable gatling (i.e. a "natural frame trap" aka "A place where someone can just mash a reversal and hit you every time"), we basically have no mixup.
  18. Wait, so they F-ing made 5BB slower again? SERIOUSLY? That's messed up. That means we're back to CS1 status with zero viable blockstrings, so I seriously hope you are incorrect about that.
  19. Since my neutral game is pure garbage, anything that might help is welcome. :P It's almost humorous - I have relatively little trouble opening people up if I can get them to block, but getting them to block.... -_-
  20. Helpful, but either I'm super dense, or there's still no information about the times for this event? Is it "all day"? Do certain games start at different times?
  21. So maybe I missed this, but help me out here: A) The address for this isn't even in the post, you have to find it on the facebook page. B) Something resembling transportation instructions would be valuable - nearest subway stop? Something? If I were coming, I'd be arriving on a train into GCT. C) Er...times? I kinda want to come to this, but you're not making it easy for me. =/
  22. Well, he said "Auto win levels vs some attacks" which is... kinda demeaning, actually, because it basically means "Some of Tsubaki's D moves actually beat some moves by other people reliably!" as if that's in some way impressive. -_-
  23. Nice, thanks; The previews of the DLC announcers would be phenomenal, because it's really sortof terrible to have to buy them sight unseen (er...sound unheard?) because honestly, some of the DLC announcers in the past have been terribad, and I think everyone would be happier to know what they're getting before they pay out the moneys.
  24. Can't argue, but it makes no sense! @_@
  25. Well, I personally feel that we'd have a better chance of seeing turnout at a "dedicated" event, rather than, essentially, scattering our community across whatever 20-odd "majors" happen to tuck BB into a back room throughout the course of the year. It would have to be reasonably well planned and announced in advance though - so whatever it is, I suggest it be something that's happening after EVO. That said, we don't have to make up our own event ala "AEvo" (not that that would not be awesome, but it's a LOT more work) - I think it might be interesting to just pick one Major later in the year that has traditionally offered good support for BB and just "go to town on it" and see what we all can do to make it blow up. Make it the "If you only go to one tournament this year, make it <Insert Event Name Here>".
