  1. I think I dimly recall saying this before, but.... that makes no sense! @_@ (MTW has full body guardpoint until 51F after super flash.)
  2. This works? o.O Magnatech wheel has an outrageous number of active frames and guardpoints for nearly an entire second - which is way longer than any invulnerability on 214D. How can you not get hit by trying to do this?
  3. That's not nearly as blatant a problem as I was expecting, considering that Tsubaki very clearly tries to do a dash in reset there.
  4. Thoughts on Tsubaki at neutral, since as far as I can tell, every single one of her old neutral tools has been nerfed to heck?
  5. Good article. Guilty as charged for being a netplay loser. :P The irony is the fact that I had PLANNED to make Evo this year my big "Yay, let's go to a tournament and have a good time event!" but that's pretty much off the calendar now - though the time and money in question can now be routed to some other event. I buck the poverty scene demographic, but I AM lazy and I am a bit short of spare time, since I'm a salaried employee and whatnot with limited vacation. Plus I AM cheap, so... there's that. But no real excuse for not at least hauling down to New York for something. Fail me. Anyway, I'm pretty crabby about the Evo thing, and therefore resolved to do a better job supporting the scene. Not sure I'm at the "grow something myself" stage, but I can at least show up for a few tournaments.
  6. Well, assuming it's still a level 3 attack (not a big assumption - most 5Bs are level 3. If they actually nerfed it to level 2, we're totally screwed.) and assuming that charge cancelling has the same recovery as CS2 (A much less safe assumption, but still one I'm willing to put out there.) then 5B CC is -2. (16 frames of blockstun, 18 frames of charge recovery.). If Charge Cancelling is faster or otherwise different in some way, that could be better. It's a lot better than letting it recover though and since we basically no longer have any safe specials, charge cancelling seems as good as it is going to get. Really curious to see the frame (dis)advantage on our less-tested moves like 5BB.
  7. Actually, they probably WON'T learn that, because people who are of roughly the same skill level as them will lose to it, and people who are significantly better than them are going to get written off as "Well, he was better than me." It'll take a really long time for the "Oh, hey, Drive Spam isn't a win button." thing to sink in.
  8. Why is that easier than 22D?
  9. This, but: If j.236A is hitting, you are doing it too fast - delay very slightly. If j.214D is missing, you are doing it too fast too.
  10. This. I just skimmed it, and I'll give it a thorough onceover later, but it seems like a really great resource. Good work!
  11. You are not allowed to say this and then not tell us what was in it.
  12. Tell me more. :P
  13. I'm sorry, but it's not fair to compare "Hey, since you're here anyway, just play this new game that no one is good at and if you win you get $1k!" to "Book a trip out here to play an old edition of the game you like." If I go to a tournament this year, it will be because of BB and nothing else.
  14. I would go. I have no idea how to make it happen though.
  15. By it having damn fine numbers at tournaments that actually support it? Half the people arguing against BBs inclusion are pointing to recent tournament numbers and going "Haha, look, Skullgirls is getting more entrants than BB" without considering the actual situations of the games (Like the skullgirls tourney being free to enter with a big donated pot, and the fact that BB is essentially between versions right now because people have been jumping ship for extend.). Seriously. We're all supposed to go to Evo and throw the "Biggest side tournament ever!!!!!111eleven" and then they'll see how wrong they are and admit us next year? Are you kidding me? /cynical.
  16. Pretty unlikely. I'd rather travel to a smaller even that actually supports BB. If Evo isn't going to support my game, I don't see why I should support Evo. I literally have zero to negative interest in all the games in their lineup. If I were to watch ANYTHING, it would be SF4, patheticially enough. I can't even follow Marvel, KOF has never appealed to me and 13 didn't change whatever it was I didn't like about it. SC5 is basically a non-event for me, MK all but causes me physical pain to look at and uh... LOL SFxT. :P
  17. Precisely. :P And BJ pretty much precisely sums up my feelings on the subject.
  18. No, it just means that it's a game nobody plays. :P I know it's all about the numbers, and I'm not faulting the management, but asking why I'm disappointed is pretty stupid. Oh well. It's not like I ever like anything popular anyway.
  19. Presumably because people like their game being recognized and put up on the big screen? Having to be a side tournament puts you in the same league as like, Tatsunoko vs Capcom or whatever. I mean, Time Killers could have a "side tournament" at Evo. I could probably have a Magic: The Gathering side game at Evo if I put my mind to it. :P Also, the lack of an "official" spot for it means that we have roughly zero chance of any noteworthy Japanese players making the trip to play it - which is especially disappointing after last year when our top 8 performance apparently got us a good bit of cred over there. (I swear I heard a quote from -someone- saying that they'd be more likely to come over for BB next year now that we've shown we can really compete.) So yeah, it's disappointing.
  20. Sad. But saves me the cost of a trip to Vegas to go 0-2.
  21. That is not much of a qualification. :P
  22. Excessive hilarity in the clash, good choice of music (Go, Mana Khemia soundtrack), but I can't shake the feeling that your opponents were uh...not very good. Though the 214D through the spike chaser for the win was pretty saucy. Like everyone, I got a laugh or three out of the Tager mirror too.
  23. Not any more than arcade hardware, so functionally, no.
  24. Well, if by "an Asus monitor" you mean the "Evo monitor" (rather than just any random ASUS monitor) then the difference in delay is going to be small enough that you won't be able to tell by eye, I think.
  25. This is not really true. If you've never seen the game WITHOUT it, you would just assume that any "delay" is supposed to be there.
