You should be able to DP out of any frame trap, because frame traps necessitate there being time your opponent isn't in blockstun -- even if it's just one frame.
-
His answers are bad, and you should feel bad for endorsing them. Frame traps don't bait mashing during blockstrings; they just punish it. 5C>6C is his only legit answer.

2a>2b 5c>6C 5c>6b 5b...5bb (this works with all other followup normal sets, too, except 2C..2CC; 2CC doesn't hit either crouching or standing, don't remember which of the top of my head) Those are the ones I'd worry about. Also, 22C>22A isn't a frametrap; it's a spacing/conditioning trick used at range to confuse opponents, since 22C is normally where you'd end blockstrings at since it's +1. You expect the opponent to maybe try to make it their turn, so you 22A, and if they were attacking, you get a delicious CH combo. The reward for non-CH is really weak, though. And you also need to be spaced at roughly max range, or you'll get mashed.

They're actually using what they learned from designing Order Sol? Holy shit.

You and your... logic!

It's just... dat bonus prorate

Wonder what you could get off 5B>3CC (rapid), then. Not practical, really, but it could be useful at some point. CH 5b>3cc rapid may be better than CH 5b>6C in Extend.
-
Do you guys know if 5B>3C still combos on crouch in CS:EX?
-
All of the things. All of them. Seriously, it's in pretty much every good Tsubaki combo >_>
-
To be fair, CS2 Hazama was fucking good, and his game ran off whether or not he had meter for Houtenjin. Needing to rely on mugen for damage isn't necessarily bad. The character needs to be tailored to it, though. CS2 Haz had good neutral and good heat gain, which helped make the whole "get 50 heat and raep" deal more viable.
-
Then ask that, specifically. Other than her just being bad, I like sprite characters. BB doesn't really have a Millia or a VAkiha, which sucks for me, but I've gotten used to being able to do some of what I like to do with Tsubaki. Looks like I won't be able to anymore, so I think I'm (rightfully) sad.

I said "sea," not "vast sea." Don't put words in my mouth~ Literally, 5b nerf and combo path nerf are enough to completely fuck her over. If you don't get this, I can't explain anything more to you. It's harder to get damage because of the 5b nerf; the damage you get will lead to more damage less often since you don't send people to the corner as easily -and- you don't get oki as easily; and you just don't even get as much damage when you do hit. This doesn't even count system changes that fuck Tsubaki, like increased barrier pushback and CAs costing a primer. I'm especially unhappy with CAs costing a primer, because our DP is ass and we don't have an overwhelming offense to compensate.
-
Sure as hell not complaining about that damage and oki. It's a nice buff in a sea of nerfs. Doesn't compensate, of course. But it's nice.
-
CS2 Tsubaki = free corner carry into oki from 3/4s of a screen away without charge, and a full screen away with charge. Gets ~2.5k midscreen chargeless off normal starters, ~3k in the corner chargeless off normal starters, and more -with- charge. CSEX Tsubaki = Corner carry with oki gone + damage nerf = brb, crying
-
Which combos, specifically? Double IAD off FC, the 5C CH combo, or something with a more mundane starter?
-
Winning against a character that's also supposedly bottom of the barrel doesn't give me much hope. = / I admit, I'm being a hardcore negative nancy about CS:EX. But I haven't seen much in the way of reasons not to be, yet.
-
I can't remember if you've answered this before or not, but: How does your offline mindset differ from your netplay mindset, if at all?
-
I don't see how buffing a move that's worthless for spacing compensates for nerfing your only spacing normal. We had DP whiff before any of the console versions released.
-
Because an extra trick in your bag of gimmicks doesn't raise your character a tier. For Tsubaki to get better, she'll need better combo paths than what she has right now, better oki, and better ways to use her spacing tools. She's fundamentally weak because of the way the character plays, so people were like "screw this" and dropped her.
-
Except for the most broken and braindead charas, you're going to have to work hard with anyone. The difference is in how much return you get for that hard work -- if the results are proportional to your effort. So no, I don't mind working hard, but I should get the return for that hard work I deserve.
-
I can't rely on easy things, so I'm bailing? Yeah, I'm sure. Tsubaki has never been a win-button character. Her good combos were hard, her mixup was okay at best, her spacing game was nothing but 5b/shield rush. The closest thing she had to a truly abusable move was 236D, but it cost charge. I care about winning over character loyalty in BB. I'd rather play Tsubaki, yes, but that's because I'm familiar with the character.
-
I played through CS1 Tsubaki. That's why I'm not putting up with that shit again. When you're that low-tier, you're not even playing the same game as everyone else. They're trying half as hard as you and winning twice as often. It's not worth my time to keep playing Tsubaki if she's bad.

Welp, I guess that Ragna sub is becoming Ragna main in CS:EX. At least I have a head start on tier-whoring. >_>

That part of VA that no one cares about (Western/Southwestern VA thread?)
Rhiya replied to Rhiya's topic in East Coast
Yeah. I'd like more excuses to play the game. I have an irrational hatred for netplay, so more local players = amazing.
