Reminds me of this.

Dacid's commentating is simultaneously good and atrocious. It's hype, but whenever he gets on, I wish it were someone like LK instead because then I'd actually be learning shit about the game -- which is kinda why I watch matches to begin with. I end up taking 90% of what commentators say worth a grain of salt unless it's a player that I can SEE has done their homework from their play.

Yeah, anything that puts Match Finder on people's minds is good. Offline comp is better than online comp, but a lot people seem to be really content with just netplaying. That's not /awful/, but fighting games really are inherently a social activity, and they're tons better when the person you're playing is sitting next to you on your couch. (You can also hear when they're mashing buttons when they're next to you )

THIS. It's kind of funny. I was netplaying GGAC the other day, and was playing against Pot. I had no clue wtf I was doing -- I'd never played against Pot before, and I'm seriously scrub-tier in GG -- so I went over to the Millia forums and checked the matchup thread (after I was done, unfortunately). There was an absolute shitton of info on how to play against Pot in the OP of that thread; it was ridiculous. It was really painful to look at my matchup section of the BB forums afterwards, because the Tsubaki matchup threads are pretty meh. On the other hand, though, the Tsubaki forums have a much better set of beginner resources than the Millia forums did. There's a simple recommended combo list in addition to the expanded one, and a pretty easy to understand beginner's guide, things like that. This is a problem I'm pretty sure is exclusive to the Millia forums, so this isn't really a reflection on the GG boards in general, but the Millia Guide has been labeled a work-in-progress since 2008. I find it really sad that you have this combo thread with character-specifics for every character, some really good matchup threads, and then your beginner guide isn't even finished. It's like the Tsubaki forums and the Millia forums have the exact opposite problems.

It's weak because it's rapid cancel only and doesn't even break a primer anymore. And I don't think you can even confirm it if it hits without spending meter. 2D>5C link is gone, iirc. Pretend it's Tsubaki 3C, basically.
-
I only ever see 5C>deadspike at max range. At that range, deadspike would just CH you. 2D is a really weak pressure tool in CS2. I wouldn't expect to see it much.

Spacing sounds kind of impractical for this >_>

You have a mic? I run Tsubaki myself, and can yell some tips at you while you play, if you'd like. You really do need to get combos down, though, or at least the major combo parts. The timing on Tsubaki's non-DP whiff combos isn't that bad, though. You'll get it soon, and if you run into a wall, drop by the Tsubaki forums and ask for exec tips. You'd be surprised how often one piece of knowledge can make the difference between a combo being stupid hard and manageable.

That's really painful, too. Because you know there are people watching this who're going to believe every word the commentators spit out. = /
-
A decent amount of the stuff they said was flat-out wrong, though.

The commentary on winner's finals was lol as hell. "LK HAS TWO BURSTS STOCKED..." "Uh, no. He has one." "Oh, really? You're right..."

Good shit tonight. I am fucking hype to be able to play MBAA now -
You have to realize, the day I felt like I was a decent player with CS1 Tsubaki was the same day CS2 came out.
-
Random question: why do I not see a lot of people trying to 2A out of pressure? Shit makes me sad, I can't run frametraps unless people are mashing.
-
I can only imagine the amount of stuff you learned NOT to do from me >_>

Millia, I think. I'll probably give some other characters a check anyways, but I'm liking Millia so far. -

Thanks for posting. Updated the OP. -
6C normally leads to jump cancel, which is generally fine.
-
Fastest moves in BB have 5f startup. 3f will work as a frametrap. I wouldn't really recommend using 6CC, though, since there are a /lot/ safer options. (5b..b, 5b..2b, 5c>6c (fatal frametrap ftw), 5c>6b, etc)

So much condescension, damn.

>Airdash >try to A+B to barrier before you can actually do barrier >j.B comes out You are now sad.

Yo, so, uh, I remember you all saying 236D OTG combos don't work on Makoto. And my time in the lab is saying otherwise. The timing is definitely tighter and a bit different, but they do work. You basically need to OTG her before she slides too far for you to dash and catch, whereas this isn't really an issue with the other charas.
