  2. Started working on translating the mixi pages for bbcpex. Started with the corner combos one. Not sure of some of my translation attempts, put "(?)" after those I'm really not sure of. The post-okizeme combos just mean that you're starting really close to your opponent. When I say "gives you okizeme", I'm partly refering to the okizeme section. I kind of want to get these done before bbcpex comes out, I'll do midscreen combos tomorrow or later idk. source : http://page.mixi.jp/run_page_apps.pl?page_id=303690&module_id=1722491&from=menu BBCPEX Mu-12 Corner Combos dl = delay j.xd = any direction j.d SoD = sword of decimation (63214c) ikutachi = 63214b () = optional/conditional 1. Basic corner combo ~SoD dash 2b 5c 2c 5d jc dlj.2c 623c (6b)(5c)2c 4d j.2c j.xd (something about the range, I think it says you can do it from far) you need to delay j.2c a lot if you don't delay enough, you might still be able to pick up with 2b 5b? 4d j.2c ender is nice because if they get up asap, 4d's shot will meaty 2. post-okizeme combo (except 6b starter) ~SoD 2b 6a 4d 5c (dl) 6b 2c [5d] ikutachi (crossunder?) 6a 2c [5d] (or 4[d]) j.2c j.5d/2d gives you okizeme on some characters you need to add a delay between 5c and 6c or ikutachi won't hit them well (has to do with the cross up thing) buffer the dash as you're landing from ikutachi ikutachi is untechable until they touch the ground so take your time when doing 6a(?) 3. 6b(2) starter post-okizeme combo 6b 6c 5d dl 5c SoD dash 3c 6[d] 2c dl ikutachi (crossunder?) 2c 5[d](or 4[d]) j.2c j.5d/2d gives you okizeme you need to use the 5d 5c chain after 6c in this combo, so make sure you didn't use it in your string prior to hitting them. on some characters you can replace 3c with 5c (relius, izayoi, etc.) on some characters (azrael is known), you need to delay ikutachi when dashing under, 2c will take input precedence if you input it correctly, so you don't get dash 3c instead 4. omohikane ender combo ~ SoD dash 2b 5c 2c 5d j.c dl j.2c 623c 6b(1) 5d 5c 2c 4d j.c j.2c omohikane same beginning as 1. but with omo ender(?) delay j.2c as much as possible, if you aren't sure the rest will connect, do 2b 5b instead 5. habakiri held omohikane ender ~ SoD 2b 6a 4d 5c dl 6b 2c 214[d] backdash 6c dl omohikane if you're close enough to them after SoD, this is an easy combo you can do you can just mash 4444444 for the backdash sometimes you can do stretch it a bit and do 5c 6b(1) dl 4d dl 2c 214[d] ~SoD 2b 6a 4d 5c dl 6b(1) dl 4d 2c 214[d] 5d dl j.c dj.b? j.c j.2c 6c dl (set 5c) omohikane both jumps are neutral jumps (something about the height required concerning 6c. I believe it means to keep the opponent at a range at which you have a clear advantage) mainly happens from the 5[d] j.2c j.d or 4[d] j.2c j.2d setup. if your opponent choses to emergency tech, you're approx +5 after landing you can do microdash 2b 5b 3c charge beam comes, normal beam comes, to be massively plus frames, and go for mixup if he delays tech, you can still do like 2b 5c dash, or 2b 5c 6b(1) 214[d] basics 2b 5b 3c 5d 9jc [land 2b 6a 3c] or [low airdash j.b j.2c] is your mixup if you chose to do land 2b 6a 3c (beam hits), so you can confirm into 2b, or on block go into 236d or set a stein and start katame, for example. if you chose to do airdash j.b j.2c land 5b (beam hits), so you can confirm into 3c SoD on hit, or same as above on block. you can basically loop this if you keep hitting them (?) application ~ 5[d] j.2c j.d microdash 2b 5b 6b(1) 5d j.2c RC j.2c option with meter(?) opponent usually stands for 6b(2) so this allows the first j.2c to be blocked standing. ~ 5[d] j.2c dl j.2d microdash 2b 5b 6b(1) 5d j.2c land 5b j.2d allows this to combo meterlessly if they block, 2a 2a 5c (shot) 236d allows the stein to go back and forth ---- throw corner combos meterless throw dl [soD] dl 4d 5c 6b dl 2c 5[d] (or 4[d]) j.2c okizeme options : j.2c j.d 2b 5b 3c 5d jc airdash 3c/empty jump 2b throw 6a 4d 5c 6b SoD 4d 6a 6c 5d 5c dl 8sj.2c 4d 6a is character specific okizeme options : j.2c j.d or delay j.2d : shot 6b(2) 6c shot (example) 50% throw dl [soD] 6[d] 2c 5d j.c dl j.2c j.623c 6b 5c omohikane useless(?) 100% + OD throw delay SoD (tip) 5d 5c 2c 4d 8j.c j.2c 6c 6d 6b 3c yata omo throw delay SoD (tip) 5d 5c 2c 6d 8j.c j.2c 6c 2d 6b 3c yata omo need practice to get SoD (tip) if you have OD, you can do yata > od omohikane (5300~) or 6b ODc 3c yata omohikane (5600~) throw 5c 6b(1) 4d 6d 3c SoD 3c jcODc 6c 4d 6d 5c yata (5[d]) omo throw 5c 6b(1) 4d 6d 3c SoD 3c 6d 6c 6d yata (od) omo stable version throw 6a 4d 5c 6b SoD 4d jcODc 6a 6c 4d 6d 5c yata (5d) delay omo throw delay [soD] 6[d] 2c 5d j.c j.2c j.623c 6b ODc 6a yata dl omo (5600~6000)
  3. Weekly News Post Meetup Friday at our place. Usual times, 6:30pm to midnight. RIP BBCP 1.1, is this the week for the MeltyPizza revival? Haven't played dfc in a while too, would be nice to play a bit again before BBCP Extend comes out and absorbs all my attention. Planning the next Smashloft tournament for Friday, April 24th. (There's an MKX tournament on the Saturday of that week) We might host that weekend too, we'll see. Keep in mind that'll be our last Friday until we leave for Japan, we'll be away from the 30th to May 17th. On a side note, I hear if you preorder BBCP Extend, you get Mai and Cajun system voice DLCs for free or something. You probably forgot the back is split in two levels. The upper level is where they sleep and keep their stuff, the lower level can be used for events.
  4. I disagree, if the space in the back is cleaned up and used correctly it would be sufficent. I can reasonably picture at least 7 setups in the front and 5 in the back, meaning 22 people could be playing simultaneously. Don't worry, I doubt numbers will be too high. Smash weeklies can get 80 ppl in there and although it's somewhat uncomfortable, it fits, and we won't get close to that.
  5. Yo, guess I might as well address a couple of these issues at once. 1. We don't go to Foonzo anymore, so losing that venue makes it harder to organize events like that. 2. I don't know much about this year's Otakuthon, I mean it's a convention (you guys know the deal), and we aren't involved in the organization of the tournaments. It's usually a lot of fun, but since it's the same weekend as Heavy Montreal this year, I might not go (or only go for the FLOW concert or something hehe). 3. HOWEVER, there is a chance we can make something happen at our new venue, Smashloft. If you guys want to come this summer, we could hype up one of our monthly events, this might give even more incentive for other nearby scenes to make it out too. It could be very similar to UMAD in the sense that we can drink there, and the venue size is a but smaller, but comparable. Nothing confirmed yet, but if it sounds interesting for you guys, I'll talk with the guys running the place and see what we can do.
  6. Forgot to specify earlier, but we are indeed hosting this Friday, 6:30pm to midnight, as usual.
  7. Tournament next Saturday. But first... Hi guys, we'd like to change things up at meetups a bit : -Brice is now selling his cokes at 50c each, instead of them being free anymore. -Cans are to be put in the big black bag near the washer&dryer. You have to empty them out and rince them quickly. (there's like 10+ cans lying around after every meetup lol) -It would be nice if everyone could be tidier in general, specifically not forgetting to throw out takeout. If you use a glass please wash it and put it to the left of the sink afterwards. -The smell isn't always pleasant, don't forget to shower or use deodorant. (tournament standard guys come on.... :P) These don't apply to everyone, some people are pretty considerate at the moment. I just feel like some don't care enough, and it's setting the pace for everyone else. Noise levels seems good lately however, so thanks about that. ... So yeah tournament next Saturday, for more info : Dustloop post : http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10334-jan-23-1st-airdasher-tournament-smashloft-montreal-canada/#entry905284 Facebook event : https://www.facebook.com/events/355855107943411/ It was good to play again! We should play some other time too, and if people want to give it a try it's not hard and somewhat cheap on psn iirc.

We'll be taking sign ups for these games, and will run those with at least 4 entrants, starting with the one that has the most entrants. There won't be a prize for those tournaments. stream : www.twitch.tv/mtlfgc
  9. About to cook lunch, you guys can show up whenever. I'd ask everyone coming to make an extra effort not to be too loud tonight though. The next place we want to move to is going to get in touch with our current landlord and we don't want to ruin it heh.
  10. I worded that wrong, I meant "he easily escapes the mixup Ragna gains from a string after a knockdown", sorry for the confusion. If you watch the clip you should understand what I mean (if you need timestamps, check 2:23, 2:37, 2:51, 3:13...) That said, it does have its uses on wakeup itself, due to the various wakeup delays and rolls you can do. Guessing a wakeup timing and just doing it does counter this, but it puts yourself at a bigger risk as well, as you generally aren't covering other wakeup options safely. As a side note, it has uses in GG on wakeup against characters with command grabs, for more info : http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/page/index.html/_/home/gg-option-selects-fuzzy-jump-and-fuzzy-throw-r18
  11. This long set made me realize it : https://youtu.be/kvQVdaorcH0?t=118 Just notice how N-O looks like he's almost always barrier blocking or jumping and the Ragna keeps getting his mixup denied on knockdown.
  12. It's ok Eb, there will be other Fridays. Nah, we have other plans on Saturday.
  13. yeah unless something comes up we'll host Friday at our place. Since it's Good Friday, I have off from work, and might be able to open up earlier, I'll post here when I have a better idea.
  14. @Kirb : shiett :o @Blade : you're referring to yourself coming over to our place tonight right? :D
  15. Weekly News Post NO MEETUP FRIDAY this week either. Brice and I are going to TSB this weekend with Ottawa. We will however host on other days in hopes of getting a bit of practice in. Monday and Thursday, 6:30pm to 10:30pm sharp, we'll host at our place.
  16. Just a heads up for anyone coming Saturday for mahjong and monsters, we're planning on closing up around 1am. Also, friends from Sherbrooke are coming, so don't count on there being space to sleep. Trying to be responsible people and not annihilating our sleep schedule this week :o
  17. 1pm is probably good for Saturday.
  18. Weekly News Post NO MEETUP FRIDAY THIS WEEK both Brice and I are busy elsewhere. In other news Enslaved is having a show this Friday at les foufounes electriques (so it's pretty cheap), their new album is really good! Instead, there will be a meetup Sunday, during which we could watch Final Round at the same time. Xrd will be done by then, but usf4 looks pretty stacked and hype too. Come some time in the afternoon. We will kick you guys out at 10:45pm though, as we work the next day. If anyone is interested, Saturday we're also hosting some mahjong, if anyone is interested in that they can come over. We might also watch the final round stream, hunt monsters, play other board games, and maybe some fighting games, but at best there will be one setup.
  19. videos from the tournament are up or processing : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCEP8UZ2gU7S-1RVKwWDT5jMGIWtJPzGw thankfully it's easy to upload a stream archive, sadly it's annoying to change youtube channels so it's on mine instead of the usual one. unfortunately the recording device got really buggy near the end of uniel, so part of that is unwatchable, sorry. game is cursed D:
  20. Hi, was anyone planning on staying over tonight after the meetup and going to the event tomorrow? I could use some arms to help bring equipment. If not, no worries. Mahjong would be hype, but I don't realistically see how we'd set it up at the venue, lol. Good to hear about your dad, but sad that you're leaving us so soon. Come by a meetup some time, haven't seen you in forever. If you're only busy on evenings, maybe you could still come by the event this Saturday afternoon :o
  21. Yeah dont worry I'm not looking at the poll for the numbers, more for the names, and won't necessarily (only) run the winner. Anyone else who doesn't do Facebook should post here as well.
  22. Weekly News Post Tournament Saturday this week! Opens at 2pm, starts at 4pm, check links for more info. Dustloop post : http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10334-jan-23-1st-airdasher-tournament-smashloft-montreal-canada/#entry899899 Facebook event : https://www.facebook.com/events/1396900120624797/ There will also be a meetup at our place on Friday as usual, 6:30pm onwards. No meetup on Thursday nor tonight.
  23. When : Saturday March 14th 2015 Venue : SmashLoft! 2000 Avenue Northcliffe, Suite #106, Montreal, Quebec H4A 3K5 Facebook event : https://www.facebook.com/events/1396900120624797/ Venue 5$ Soft drinks 1$ Schedule : 2pm Venue opens 4pm 2v2 BBCP start 5pm GGXrd start ~food break when you're eliminated~ 8pm UNIEL start (bracket ready at 7pm) 8pm 2v2 GGXrd start (bracket ready at 7pm) 9pm ~check the facebook poll~ Venue covers entry to tournaments. As usual, bring equipment if you can (PS3s, Screens, Sticks)! The more setups we have the more stations we can use for casuals in the back ~~DIFFERENCES FROM LAST TIME~~ -It's a Saturday so we're starting earlier, more time so more events. Also, last metro is a bit later. -BBCP will be 2v2, waseda style. No rules on who can team with who. Double elimination, all matches are 2/3 rounds bo1. Same rules apply to GGXrd teams. -The time listed for UNIEL and GGXrd 2v2 is the time at which we'll start DQing people. We'll start the bracket at 7pm to make things run faster if players are there. Post here if you know you'll be late, we'll save you a spot in the bracket (this applies to other tournaments too). -There should be some time after the tournaments for other stuff. Maybe just casuals, maybe a tournament for a less played game? -In case the food break isn't clear, please wait until you're eliminated from Xrd to go eat, and please be back for 8pm. There are quite a few restaurants in the area, I hear we even get a discount at Copoli if we mention that Kyle from the Smashloft sent us :o -Payout for each tournament might seem a bit low, but I want to keep costs low, so I'll provide either some bounties or pot bonuses to make things more interesting. More information on this later. stream : www.twitch.tv/mtlfgc
