Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters
pochp replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
Ah I didn't know that starters are only damage related. I assumed it also affected how long your combo could go before your opponent had a chance to tech. @Air: Yeah me and brice had already planned on going to train, didn't know it was gonna be this hype. I will probably bring my Xbox, so we can BBCS2 without having to borrow the HDD, as well as AH3. @Eb: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=168294299897665 (or if you're too lazy to click the link, "There will be no recording / streaming and equipment was removed to make space so we can really darktrain that shit!") -

I don't get the point of that video. I find it interesting as a combo video, but most of those are unrealistic starters IMO. Not worth investing time into those ultra situational might never even happen once in your life combos. When are you going to hit an opponent with 5C while you're in the corner? Also, you're in for a surprise if that's what you think is prominent in our community No meetup today, guys. -

I'm helping my dad build a shed in our back yard this afternoon. I don't know when we'll be done, but going to chambly, getting the keys from brice, opening HQ... it's kind of a lot of time, and I work tomorrow so I shouldn't leave too late either. If we finish really soon I might be able to, but don't count on it. Probably more likely to have something happen on Wednesday, and also Thursday. We'll just need to check with MTLSF that they don't mind. Eb, I'd prefer if you said "might" than "supposed", don't want anyone showing up when it's not open -

Looking at midscreen 2C CH combos, the ones from jbbs with "2C CH, 5C, 6C, 214D (whiff)" I found really hard to hit consistently. So I came up with this pretty easy one with less damage, but more than the other ones listed: 2C CH jump delay air dash j.C j.2C dash2B 2C 6C habacan 6A :6B 5C 6C... (3k 30 heat)

When he uses a input for an attack, it does a random through every character's attack that has that input, and choses one or more of those. Of course, these moves come with every characters' drive special effect. -

Yeah sure, I'll even buy it if you want. Unless it's a Rock Band mic, I already have one of those, do they work? (they're not really practical though so I'd get yours anyways) -

Ah I see... too bad, I think the connection was okay, for netplay, let's play again sometime. We got some pretty close games, though I hope it didn't have anything to do with the controller problem. GGs heh netplay tactics, I hate'em too. 5a-Grab is supposed to be TRM, but when I think about it, it's more like netplay auto-grab. edit : oh and I'll get a mic, eventually. @Steb: Awesome! So far there's you, and brice that I've recently had interest from. Eb/Nolan were maybes when we first talked about it. -

sorry man gotta check the thread or text me or brice to make sure. This is the first Sunday we've skipped since october, excluding easter and nemesis in january. However Sunday meetups will be irregular for the next few weeks, here's a schedule. next week: anime north following: MAT8 following: meetup! following: depending on stuff, maybe we'll go back to toronto for a tourney following: east coast throwdown and then the schedule should go back to normal. reminder for those interested in going to east coast throwdown: get your passports asap, they take about 2 weeks if all goes well. I really think it would be great for us to go to travel to a major, so I'm up for lending the $$ for the trip if we're short on people (ideally we'd be 4 or 5). In the long run, we'll save more on the gas/hotel, so it's win/win. @Kirbster: about netplay, I dunno man, I lost to this horrible guy who had this lag switch and I wasn't even mad. I just thought "lol" left the room and joined another. I'm still learning a lot about the changes to other characters and testing setups so it's not useless yet. @Omar : you up for some xbl? -

Oh. Jpourrais ammenner ma xbox et stick, mais ça require un 2e stick de xbox. Else the HQ bb sunday meetup will be moved to... wednesday? @Steb: wasn't the building also supposed to be closed on easter friday? -
I'm not C0R but I can answer. the ...Dash 3c > SoD > Dash :5b > 6a >... combo assumes that you started midscreen, but at this point in the combo you've carried your opponent to the corner. 5C 6C will only connect in a string if you got a CH or crouching opponent. If you hit too close though, you need to go 5C 2C 6C or the 6C will whiff.

Hmm ok that's just Air so far... just an idea, what if we moved the meetup to tomorrow evening instead? I'll keep checking the thread though. -

For the meetup tomorrow: post if you want us to have a meetup. If no one posts, we won't open. Brice is unsure about coming, and I'm not go if I know I'll be alone. Or course if at least someone is interested we'll do the trip, and plz say what time you want to be there too, because I'd have to get Brice's keys in chambly which makes it take over an hour for me to get there. Ooops I chose my words wrong, lol, my bad, I meant that I'm someone who can take decisions and talk to Cranky and the others. We as a team, I'd say you, me, brice, and air, take care of the tournaments. Me and you take the decisions, I pretty much tell Cranky what we're planning on doing, me and you run it and commentate, air does brackets, and brice hypes it up. -

@Kousaka: Well I'm pretty much organizing the animu games at MAT8, and I was originally opposed to having a melty or arcana tournament because I know that there won't be more than 5 people from Montreal that would participate in either. But if you guys are interested, we'll definitely have time since the numbers won't be that big. So arcana pretty much for sure because it's new and I play it so I'm biased, but less likely for melty, I think the guys haven't played in a while, I'll have to see with them if they're interested. Casuals for sure though. Who knows? Maybe some people that are there for SF/MvC3 will want to participate as well. By the way, it's 99% sure that me and Brice will be at anime north on Saturday, will any of you be there? --- Nolan there is kind of an arcana scene here, within the BB community. It's just very small. -

I think hakumen players are biased. More seriously though, I think that almost everyone else should be able to execute optimal, or at least decent, combos in 2 weeks, but there's more to BB than just combos. We still have a long way to go in terms of neutral game. So it shouldn't be THAT bad, but I doubt many people will watch either way. @Nolan/Eb: about the hungry thing, I know it affects you, lol, I'm just really used to doing it in other circumstances so I figured it wouldn't be so bad. But with FGs, the effect was just way more intense than I expected. I couldn't block-DP, I couldn't turn off the autopilot into the worst options, etc. @nini : lol u troll. I meant the exact opposite. -

Well if there's one thing I learned today, it's that without something in my stomach, not only can I not play, I can barely learn, and having fun is borderline. One meal and a half isn't going to cut it for a day of work and a meetup. Maybe I should sleep more too. I hope you guys had fun anyways, apologies for not being a worthy opponent, and thanks to kirbster for the patience and tekken tips, lol. Eh, at least the rest of my day was pretty good. Got a new desk and chair at work (from ikea, had to build them, got a papercut), got my first pay, internet got fixed at home, new modem so we should be ok for a while. See you guys Sunday, I'll try to be better prepared mentally and physically By the way, Monday is a holiday, and this might be our last Sunday meetup for a while. Anyone up for something special, maybe? @Level5: what game were you playing on your laptop towards the end of the meetup? @Blade: forgot to cover your entry :O, did anyone else do it? If not I'll put 5$ in the pot on sunday. And thanks to kirbster for bringing his ps3, as well as steb and blade for bringing their sticks. -

Don't forget SC4 My internets might still be down, (and yes litchi combos made me sad last night. my execution is bad, good thing I play mu) @Kaeru : ...but it was raining this morning! you never know. (j/k lol, come back when you feel like it again) @Air : you bringing your stick(s)? -

Holy shit Rikaichan had a sex change Will use, thanks for the heads up. About PS2 sticks, Kaeru and Steb bring theirs when they come, which is almost every time. Airmaster has one, and Kaeru has a second one, but those are rarely seen because they're rarely needed. But just to make sure, check that these people confirm their presence and sticks. Also, GG is more and more popular. By the way, check out BBCS2, it might interest you (relaunch combos are only slightly long in the corner, but it's all better than CS1). Oh and, big surprise I forgot about the converters. @Steb : if you're coming, and can't bring both your stick and xbox, chose the stick. Now that the patch is on ps3, pad warriors will be all over it, one xbox setup should be enough. edit : the hq is most likely open. -

Having problems with my modem, posting on my bro's smartphone, might not be able to go on xbl tonight. DI704P was shit. WBR2310 was shit. EBR2310 was very good actually. [/routers] Chrome is godlike he only thing it lacks is kanji translating plugins, but that's more for curiosity than anything else.
