Updated first post with Sponsors, Prizes and various details. If anyone from the Toronto area was interested, some guys were trying to fill up a bus to come, more info in this thread : http://shoryuken.com/f248/mat-viii-part-evo-tournament-season-june-4th-5th-montreal-canada-270036/ And yeah, if there is any interest in AH3, let me know, just our regulars aren't enough for a tournament, but we could make it happen if out of towners or some non regulars from the area show interest.

Why worry about PSN if we can have Xbox setups for our lolicons, worst case scenario. I'm someone who worries a lot but this goes 100f over my head. That said I'm kinda sad because I was thinking about getting a 360 this summer, hesitating between getting a JP one for those weeaboo games or just one from over here for simplicity, and then BAM I realize future shop and best buy had them on sale for 130$ but are now out of stock. oh I also updated the MAT8 thread. -

La banquise is only 5 minutes by car from there. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Rue+Saint-Denis&daddr=la+banquise&geocode=FSB8tgIdfo6d-w%3BFdaptgIdh1ad-yER3z_nwYO4jym1AtpxzxvJTDFxQL4DFngOMg&hl=en&mra=ls&dirflg=w&sll=45.514768,-73.555613&sspn=0.025561,0.066047&ie=UTF8&z=16 If not, almost any diner or fast food place will have some. For example there's a "Frite Alors" on Saint Denis really close :http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Rue+Saint-Denis&daddr=Rue+Saint-Denis&geocode=FSB8tgIdfo6d-w%3BFWCCtgIdiICd-w&hl=en&mra=pr&dirflg=w&sll=45.514497,-73.561277&sspn=0.003195,0.008256&ie=UTF8&z=18 never been to that specific one but I remember having decent poutine at the one on Cote des Neiges. @Kousaka : I saw on this thread http://shoryuken.com/f248/mat-viii-part-evo-tournament-season-june-4th-5th-montreal-canada-270036/ that some guys from toronto are trying to fill up a bus of people, might be interesting for you. @Rhannmah : Had an exam today, only slept around 4 hours last night, kept telling myself "don't post, focus". didn't get much studying done though, I hope I'll pass. @Blade : HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHA yeah this is one of those "look who's talking moments", dictator nigga trying to dictate things -
Was going to forget, but about J.2C being unsafe. I dunno, it's being used so much by JP players that I think it got a lot better on block or they'd get punished way more that what I'm seeing. Really going to have to wait to see how this one turns out, because it could become a very useful tool. Dunno if it's considered a normal or a special or if it's just worth adding, but there's also the counter assault. Last thing, dunno what you had in mind or how deep you were going to get into oki setups, but I was thinking about doing either a "slightly advanced setups" video (have equipment) or just a post with those that are so far in the JP vids. Going through older stuff so far and some of it is interesting, here's a few examples. corner j.2C , midscreen 6C , this one I'd have to try to see if there's a way of getting it work . I think they're worth going for now that our overhead is no longer punishable on instant block

Eh, only 40% voted Tory, I think our system is kinda outdated, but lol those with the majority won't be the ones to change it, that's for sure. Oh well, at least our economy might look like it's healthier in 4 years. -
Don't have a PSP , but missed your last update, just have a few things you could add for normals. 5A is used as a very fast anti air. j.C is easy to whiff on crouching opponents, so a very bad tool for jump ins (I think it's important to note, it took me a while to realize this). Might want to add that 6B cannot be stein cancelled, and that Omohikane has a lot of invincibility and a big hitbox making it a decent reversal, while Mirror has none and should not be used as a reversal. Maybe add a small section on improvising combos. Like, when you get an air hit (ex: j.B or 236D CH), you go whatever->j.C j.2C land dash 2B 5C 6C... and that revolver action works in the air as well (j.A->j.B->j.C) Something similar for the corner would be a good idea too, example, if you're far after the SoD, pickup with 2B 6A, as opposed to closer, 6A 6B 6A. (this is just from looking at videos, maybe there are better options out there) Midscreen steins after 6C to extend combos, ex: (crouching/CH) 5C 6C 214D dash 5C 6C... or iad j.C j.2C if the explosion was too high. (definitely not optimal, but since it's sometimes hard to know how much longer you can extend your combo after 214D, might as well the simple stuff that will almost always work) Slightly advanced combos that would be good to have would be stuff->3C RC dash 2B..., stuff->6C RC dash 6B... (it's good to know how to get more midscreen damage with meter, IMO)

GG is great but pad destroys my thumbs. At some point I'm going to have to grind those FRCs though, can't QQ about screwing them up forever. Yeah now that CS2 has a date, and that date is in <2weeks, CS1 hype is kinda low. Still going to Ottawa though, so far me/brice/steb. Anyone else? Tentative plan is leaving around 9 AM from Montreal, doing the tournament, returning before 1 AM to Montreal. Price will be gas (depending on how many we are, but between 10-15$ each) + Food (supper, snacks?) + tournament fees (I think 5 venue 10 per tournament). The more we are the less it costs (because of gas). However, I no longer have the van, so 5 people max, we're only 3 so far. Another person with a driver's license would really be appreciated. @rhannmah : woah looks fun. @the tao/tager player : I think you forgot your ps3 usb sync cord for controllers, I left it on the shelf at the entrance where there are cables/games/controllers. @Blade : I covered your MAT8 fee and PM'd cranky about it. -

@Blade : you coming to the meetup? need a ride? @Rhannmah : tu viens? jpeux faire le lift, jvais prob me lever autour de 1h So sony is giving 30 days of PS+ and maybe a few region-specific free downloads. Gonna have to wait to see what this implies exactly before I can judge. So I finally found an animu I enjoy this season. Hidan no Aria. It has a loli, and she's tsundere, and her seiyu is Kugimiya Rie, and she has guns. Oh and there are bishoujou schoolgirls repping the usual stereotypes. Oh and signs are pointing towards a harem. Oh and the protagonist has a hidden power mode. Oh and it automatically activates when ecchi things happen. Yeah. -

Eh I kinda disagree, I think the simplifications just mean that Blitzkampf is faster to learn, and execution is not really a barrier. It's fun to play and fast to learn, so as a Doujin game, it's great. I'm currently uploading more footage, since no animu has hooked me yet this season, (and lolpsn) still have a ton of bandwidth. Going to finish up the tournament and maybe get some more casuals up there. I most likely won't upload 5h of people getting run over by LK in casuals, but I'm still holding on to the footage, so Nini/Kirbster/anyone else? if you guys ask for it I'll upload or I can just give you the files at the next meetup if you want to look at them. Next meetup, this Sunday aka Tomorrow, who's coming? what time? do you want us to wait for you before we go for supper? is anyone bringing a 360 copy of the game? (looks at blade/steb) -

Yeah that and it also has too many bright colors. But hey, maybe the next one, assuming there will be a next one, will go back to the original style. We can only hope, and also hope we can get some kind of playable version here too... -

@Sphyra : If you think about it like a game that uses the same system and cast as blitzkampf, with a few additions and original characters, it actually looks fun. @Blade : because I need it to practice combos, period. However it always inputs AB if I press A slightly hard, so turning specials into supers or A moves into B moves makes it a real pain. I need to fix it, or dual mod my other (and fix it), or win a tournament and get a stick as a prize. -

Good shit cranky! Really awesome that we manage to get a bonus prize for us. By the way, I was really satisfied by how the recording went, so I'm going to buy the stuff if you're still selling it. Maybe a discount for the cans I left in the fridge last time? Anyways, we'll talk about it. @Blade : yeah that's the practice stick I use at home. I was about to say it's not so bad, but then I realized that I've been practicing on it for over an hour now and I already feel like throwing it against the wall. -
Mine also does slightly more than 6K from midscreen (can't remember exact amount). j.C CH (dash) 6B step 6A 6C habacan dash 6A 6B dash 6A j.2C dash 2B 6A j.2C dash 2B 6A 2C j.C j.2C 2B shotgun. Of course, doesn't work on some of the cast. The dash at the beginning depends on the situation, sometimes you need it, sometimes it makes the following 6B crossup between both hits Ve, what are you using in the corner? I usually assume that when you start in the corner you do less damage than midscreen because you can't habacan.

Lol at least that's not "how a CPU works" because I have around one class per semester dedicated to that, and it's usually the toughest class. @Blade : -
That sounds... effective. Definitely going to try it out and experiment, thanks for the sample

Grats fred! asti je finis le 5 moi, encore 3 exams try this : http://www.anonymous-scanner.net/ He's done a lot, so it's almost like one of the sites above.(might be better to follow rhannmah's advice I guess, lol). I might do a few more uploads tonight if I manage to figure out how much bandwidth I have left (also known as getting my dad to remember the password and then forgetting to write it down somewhere). Oh and I'll most likely be there Sunday. Apparently, it's absolutely impossible for me to study more than 24h before my exams. -
LK's GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY question thread
pochp replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
Wait wait I still have a question. LK, what are option selects people should know/use in BBCS2(but not only new ones)? Even obvious ones, I feel like there might be some that are so obvious for people that know about them that the information never gets to those that don't know. -

I can tell you neither me nor Nolan are coming. @Nini : Ouch! I uploaded winners btw. And uh, are these sites blocked too, lol? Just curious :P1 2 3 ps: don't click if someone's around. Wow blade you really are not reading brice's posts are you? -
Just do it, how else will you learn? I have around 30% wins and 100 PSR if I remember correctly, haven't played ranked since November, I just use it to learn characters. @C0R : are you going to post those setups or keep em until a major

Gonna go look for a BB/SF/MvC/Brawl/SC4/T6 scene tomorrow, there's a bunch of game centers, though I think they mostly play shitty ass soccer games. Shoutouts to Usb key internetz lol. My internet setup is pretty ghetto atm. @Airmaster: Sorry bro, Boston's winning it Learning Carl. Get hype:cool: Sounds like fun. Remember to check the region of any game or console you buy BTW, 3DS and Xbox 360 stuff you buy might be PAL region locked, as opposed to the NTSC-U/C we have over here. Sometimes the games aren't locked or w/e, there's info on the internets. I'm moderately hype for carl, seeing his CS2 BS, I'm more afraid. Oh and be careful if you try to show BB to the people over there I heard it got banned in Saudi Arabia or something because bang took off his clothes when he astralled. same I lol'd. But no, it's soccer/football, and I hope hockey "hype" over here doesn't become like it. needs more GG indeed, and more PS2 sticks. Watched some mitsurugi vids man that guy is so insane with zappa, he wins/ocvs/makes raoh comebacks (lol as opposed to checking Mu CS2 vids, which are rare, but not not as rare as their wins) just makes me want to play and practice but... in a week. random fact : starting to read Gantz can easily destroy all possibility of studying enough for an exam. -

Yeah I had an exam today so I put the ones where I had to synch commentary on hold, will do tonight. How is Tunisia? Lol I'm the guy who stacks bills on his desk until there are too much and then throws them out because they won't do anything anyways, but yeah hadn't thought of the Apple store, I'll go check it out. I think it's just that something is loose. Maybe I'll show you next time, and you might go "oooh I see you just have to ________". The game is tonight, they're talking about Thursday. I lol'd.
