So I'm going to re-open up the HQ today, maybe some time between 4-4:30 most likely, I'll post and tweet before I leave work (10 mins to hq). You can text me if you're desperately curious though (# in the first post). @Ken : Blame aksys, not asw. Yes it's BS. @Kaeru : This bug probably affects Mu as well, I'll check it out. Might have to learn another character until they fix it, her combos depend on wall bound now. @Blade : No, they're only in the port. @Nini : I knew some players had been successful with pad, I don't think it's that much of a handicap. I do think that it just complicates things. At Evo, for example, they're banning all wireless controllers, like dualshock/sixasis. You can still play pad if you use a wired controller, but those are third party for ps3.

@Kirbster: Sweet shit jsuis toujours down pour du GG, quoique je prefere vrm stick à pad de loin pour ce jeu là (genre, plus que pour BB, mais pas autant que pour marvel) @Unsanc: it's ok, just my curiosity. I lol'd.

@Unsanc: Information is good, at what time does the doujin seller get there? I see there were some FGs in last year's schedule, but is it just casuals or do they have tournaments for everything, and do you think it's worth it to bring a stick? Are there any "must see" events or anything else we should know? @Kirbster: Sadly ragna is no longer braindead so I dunno how well your stick ragna would do more reasons to learn stick, bro. I think Mu and Jin might have some easy combos, so if ever you have nothing better to do you could try them out. We could also play Tekken 6, someone's gonna get blown up. (I will admit I learned tonight that Wolfkrone the SSF4 viper player plays pad and he does really well in tournaments so it's not for the skill side, here it's just for the versatility side)

Got my answer from Cranky. There used to be 3 converters at the HQ, he sold his, one guy is using his at home, and the third one disappeared recently. So yeah, unless you pad players want to migrate to stick, we need to find our own solution. @Steb: awesome. Don't forget your converter.

@Rhannmah : Tu viens demain? La station principale devrait pas être utilisée pour marvel alors on devrait etre capable d'y mettre CS2 et possiblement poigner le DLC si on est capable. @Flavourjello: Don't forget the big balance patch was released Tuesday on Xbox 360, and it might be released tomorrow for PS3. So just make sure you try out your stuff to make sure it still works. Some of her non-tauntloop combos might need a bit of adjusting, but she seems like a character that wasn't changed too much compared to others. If you just learned her tauntloop, I have some horribly sad news for you... (by the way I'm the Mu player from the HQ the other day)

I am kinda interested in SCV though, especially if there's a "scene". Never seriously played a SC game before though, how are they? Hard to learn, complicated system, touch of death combos? I have no idea. That reminds me, Kirbster, we gotta add each other on SC2. And according to the Post Canada tracking I should have my xbox the 18th. Oh well, time to be patient. My PS3 stick is giving me such a headache that I might as well pick up SC2 again while waiting. (well and be at the HQ even more)

fix'd So yeah today at the HQ, apparently only one console has a hard drive, so we couldn't get BBCS2 because it was being used for marvel, so I ended up playing marvel instead. BBCS2 day one + play MvC3 = Shoutouts to Steb for helping me with combos in MvC. I can now do almost legit combos. Shoutouts to Kr3wman and Brice for being there anyways. It's really amazing how just talking to someone and being told "it's easier if you confirm your j.H into 5L 5M 6M rather that 421H 6M" and suddenly, combos... steady ones that don't drop half the time.

Just a reminder, MTLSF are having both a Mavel teams tourney and a MK singles tourney tonight at the HQ. Depending on attendance, I doubt they'll be able to spare more than one station for BBCS2, and that's not guaranteed. Well, I asked on their thread in SRK, and you never know. I'm gonna show up anyways after work, I practiced some marvel last night so I'm gonna participate in that tournament, and I'll have my 360 BBCS disk with me (as well as my stick) in case they're okay with letting us set it up (including DLing the patch, maybe buying DLC chars).

Stay 無料 blade. I don't know exactly what that means, but it's the price of the patch according to the JP link I gave above.

@Vice : like kr3wman said, the patch server is not the same as psn. If you want proof, I turned on my PS3 to train marvel today, being connected to the internet but not psn (lol). It automatically downloaded and installed the "new" patch (lol haven't played in a long time).

@Unsanc : of course. those words were not chosen by accident @Nini : I bought a 360. It's backordered though, so I dunno what will arrive first, CS2 or the console. That said, I already bought a BBCS 360 disc last week, so I might just end up spending a lot of time at the HQ. As for PSN, keep in mind the patch server and psn store are two different things, one is up and running while the other isn't atm.

I lol'd, yeah Imperial Sport wasn't there. Grand finals was Brice using the variety of tech traps he knew against the litchi player who fell for them pretty much every time, touch of death tager. Blame the small scene for the matchup exp, he was good though. Looks like some of the guys stepped it up a bit and learned combos (not the optimal ones, but better than last time), but there's still a long way to go. I hope they step it up once again and show up at MAT8. I enjoyed marvel I probably finished like 34th (out of 44) and did better than I expected, so I'll probably actually learn the game now (aka actually going in training mode with my team for the first time).

Yeah haku still looks like he hurts like a truck when he manages to hit you, I guess it just took people some time to figure out the new combos and get used to them. In a way I think he's like Mu... not many players, and the good ones are rare so we get the impression that they aren't as good as the rest of the cast. I can't wait to try it out for myself. [school talk]LOL that almost happened last semester (no not the ritual suicide part). The class I was sure I was going to fail and that was a prereq for really important classes in the following semester (this one), turns out the teacher lowered the passing grade so I ended up with a D+. And the class that I ended up getting 27% on my final and failed, being my first class ever to fail, I didn't give a shit because I was so happy to have passed the other one. (teacher is a dick and can't teach, got 7.6/20 but noo the passing grade was 7.8/20 and 25% of the students still failed because he was so damn strict in his corrections and made questions he himself had trouble doing. true story, after a 1h quiz we complained about an unanswerable problem and it took him about an hour, with help from everyone in the class, to get it. I also had a class with him this semester, hate him even more) But I think I'm safe this semester, I mean, I might fail a class or two, but I won't get too upset over it because I already got a job for the summer, it's an internship, going to make it easier to get one next year, grades are slightly less important... so yeah "au pire". GGs yesterday. That was hopefully our second-last CS1 meetup. When CS2 hits, we start a danisen league, sounds good? Shoutouts to Kaeru and Steb for the PS2 sticks. GG is made to be played on those things (and I can't control zappa's dog on the pad) Shoutouts to Rhannmah for the GG practice and cleaning up. And daaaamn I was so tired, slept something between 13-14 hours last night. Lol unsanc, he doesn't play BB. But I agree with you, our level is kinda low in GG, and the system is similar enough to BB's that once you know your character's essential moves, you can have fun. So if all goes well, I should have a 360 eventually. Get hype for bbcs2 netplay. @Ken : I have never played an SNK game before nor have I seen a lot of footage. I'm slightly interested, if it's fun I might learn BnBs and have fun with it, but one can only play so many games seriously. (kinda regret dropping SC2, so many friends kept playing and I can't even win a game against them anymore )

Unless Steb brings his. I don't know at what time I'll show up. My exam finishes at noon, but I'll be heading to Complexe Guy Favreau to hand in my passport form and I'll head to the HQ after. I recommend doing this to anyone thinking about getting their passport done soon, apparently they check it on the spot for mistakes so it doesn't go back and forth through the mail causing unnecessary delays. Oh and if you're slightly interested in travelling, might as well get it done, guys. It's pretty easy to do, there's an online form that you fill out and print, but it costs 80$ or so when you hand it in, I think.

I should be at the HQ tomorrow, last exam is tomorrow morning. Even though hype for CS1 is kinda low, gotta practice a bit to not look too free in Ottawa. However, I encourage you guys to try out Guilty Gear and Arcana Heart if you're there but not feeling like BBing, those games are fun and should get more attention in our scene. @Ken : While Jin may be a character that is "all around", he's probably one of the characters with the most options at any given point. I think it's great to try out new characters, but if you think Jin is boring I think you'll get bored with Ragna even quicker, lol. IMO keep treating him as your main, but pick up as many subs as you want. Oh and good luck with the other stuff you mentioned, try out those C++ tutorials I sent you if you feel like feeling productive. They go almost as deep as my first year's Uni class. @Blade : stay free @Nini : How high is the level over there? Good luck with your internets, we'll do our best to rep MTL, don't want to make Toronto feel like they made the trip for nothing. We'll likely stream, by the way.

Oh hey, how are things in Tunisia? CS2 looks legit and fun, how can you say it'll be bad when comparing it to the other games of this gen :P
