  1. Lol, I thought of this during the whole LuminAbyssXCarnagescissors ordeal when Extend was released in the arcades, and we found out about CS being projectile invulnerable. Thanks Tong, I'm gonna treasure this and keep it till at least BB3 is out.
  2. I haven't changed my avi in like... forever, so here's a cool idea for one I want made: First we see Ragna idle in space (as in Outer space). Then the camera scrolls left and we see ... a miniature Earth (as in the globe roughly the same size as Ragna). Then the screen zooms out, so that both are visible, then the Earth hurls a meteor at Ragna and Ragna does Carnage Scissors and dodges the meteor and hits the Earth out of screen. Then the screen goes black and then the words "Imm'a Carnage Scissors the world!" show up.
  3. Here's what Trainer Moy did: -Open Bag -Use Moonstone on Jin -What? Jin is evolving! -??? -Congratulations! Your Jin evolved into Hakumen! -Hakumen is trying to learn 1 BUTTON REVERSAL. However, Hakumen can only learn up to four moves. Should Hakumen forget a move?
  4. Man... I wish I had Extend, I'm reading all this constructive Ragna discussion and I'm sad I can't be a part of it... yet. Anywho, 6B midcombo looks like ass (aesthetically I mean). But eh, he gets good damage because of it. Personally I wished they made Ragna mix-up better ( safer, harder to react to) rather than average mixup with really high damage, but that's just me. Now he's a complete character, who rewards good fundamentals play with high damage. 2A pressure so good.
  5. Hey guys, just a quick general question: Would it be safe to say that CSEX Ragna is a high risk, high reward character?
  6. Ok, KF, could you edit your first post with this info then?
  7. Well, I guess you could blame the old general thread, because everyone went and posted there while forgetting about the original gameplay discussion thread. Redundancy, really.
  8. i.e. crossup Carnage Scissors to win a match I don't see KayEff keeping this thread open for long, if that's the only things that we'd be allowed to talk about. I mean, the first thing can already be done in the Ragna video thread, [edit: my mistake, we can't already do that. You can in other character subforums, but not the Ragna boards] point 2 & 3 are things that he's trying to avoid, and point 4... Well, I can see it being open just for that, but it'd hardly see any posts, because really, how often would you get hype moments? The thread would just die by itself.
  9. So... what constitutes non-gameplay Ragna related stuff? Ragna story stuff? Because that's kinda already covered in the Continuum Shift Storyline thread. I think this thread is actually redundant, other than doubling as a Ragna general thread, which is against your wish.
  10. Don't mash it, time it correctly. Just do it after j2A's animation. Same with jC. Practice it till you get the hang of it, which should pretty quick.
  11. "I can't kick in this dress!" seems to be what she's saying/thinking. Nice drawing dude.
  12. Can you elaborate? Your question is kinda vague.
  13. You know what would REALLY piss them off? Be the better man (you and your pals), just ignore them and play the game you like. Be polite, don't retaliate, just show them how petty they are by being indifferent about them and their insults. After all, you're playing BB, a good game which you love to play, and with what I assume is a good amount of people, judging by your story. So why bother? Just hype up your game as much as you can without shitting on their game. I say 'shitting' as in just plainly insulting their game the way they do it to you. Should they try to win over a newcomer to the fighting game community at the arcades (assuming that's where your scene hangs out and plays), stroll up to them and say "Hey, want to try out our game? You might like it" as politely as you can. And if the other guys try to diss your game in front of the newbie, just politely refute him (with examples from tourneys, hell even visual examples) Don't try to diss his game back. BB is actually legit, while SF has stupid design flaws, it's pretty easy, really. It's important you do this politely, because again, it shows quite obviously how much of a difference the BB players and the SF4 players there is in terms of behaviour and attitude, which would win the interest of new players, seeing how BB players are all cool cats while the SF players are just haters. Also never, never, NEVER dissuade the newbies from trying out SF4. Let them try it out. The only time you should voice out why SF4 is such a dumb game is when they ask you why YOU don't play it. I swear you do this, and they can do absolutely JACK SHIT about you and the BB players there. They'll try to 'break' you (you know, troll you, get a reaction from you), but if you do this right, they'll just break themselves. You'll become an Iron Wall. Also, if you haven't already, play GG. /ArcSysAdvertisement
  14. Yo, you should start an international Mega Team-St1ckBuG tournament series that runs the exact same day as EVO, run it in a venue right next to EVO's venue, and put up a giant sign facing EVO's venue saying: "TSB Mega Tournament: Where the real games at.( P.S. Fuck you EVO.)" in English and Japanese, along with a picture of an anime schoolgirl with guns. Then run all the good games: GG, BB, MB, VS, KOFXIII (I know the other place is gonna have it, so you better have something mexicans will like. mexican food probably), SG (demo, or actual game if it's out by then) GVGEXVS (Gundam game). You'd need to get tourney sponsors though, and have mad cash prizes. Also invite the good Japanese players (all games) you met in Japan over. OK gonna be serious now. It's a shame they decided to not run BB. Even though last year's EVO BB didn't get many entrants, the hype top 8 and finals got the attention of many BB players who didn't attend, and made them want to attend. Heck it showed Japan that there are people who are not Japanese who can compete against them toe-to-toe. Last year's EVO was like planting a small seed in fertile soil, it's gonna grow if they gave it a chance to. Oh well.
  15. I think Zappa and Robo-ky also had some changes from AC to AC+.
  16. Woo a GGAC+ general thread! I love me some GG. I've been playing a lot of GGAC on the PSP, and I find I'm doing quite well against the CPU. I pick Order-Sol, he's a pretty cool character. I have GGAC+ on the PS2, but I'm gonna wait till I mod my Mayflash so I can play the game properly. If you're coming from BB (and you do pretty well in it), it's like you already did almost 2/3rds of the work in becoming proficient in execution for GG, and it doesn't take much time to adjust. They're pretty similar in quite a few aspects, you just need to learn the trickier things like jump install (which is pretty easy), impossible dust (easy), FRC timings (depends on character, HOS's action charge FRCs are easy), in addition to your characters' BnBs and blockstrings.
  17. Alright! Looking around the net I found a really good guide to modding a Mayflash by "Laugh" from SRK. And I looked at different sites to compare prices between different parts, and it seems etokki.com has the cheapest parts. Here's the price comparison I did: (LL is Lizard Lick, eT is eTokki, GS is Gremlin Solutions, AS is Akihabara Shop) Joysticks: Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK: LL: $23.95 (stick) + $2.95 (ball top) = $26.90 (mounting plate included, 5 pin harness not included) eT: $22.95 (stick) + $3.00 (ball top) = $25.95 (5 pin wiring harness included) GS: 19.50 GBP + VAT = $30.40 + VAT (5pin harness not included) [h5P = 4.50 GBP + VAT] AS: 2,295 yen = $29.40 (5pin harness not included) Buttons: Sanwa OBSF-30 button (single): LL: $ 2.95 eT: $2.30 GS: 1.70 GBP = $2.60 AS: 189 yen = $2.40 Price conversion done with XE currency convertor app. Just one last question though: How does the Korean Crown buttons compare to the Japanese Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons in terms of quality?
  18. Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate your input. I usually take 2-3 expert opinions before making my final decision, so Imm'a wait for a few more inputs on the issue. However, I'm gonna ask the next set of questions I have about stick parts in advance: 1. I know about lizardlick.com, but I don't know if they ship outside the US. Do they? Are there other good, trusted stick part retailers based outside the US? I live in Bahrain, in the middle east, so I'm looking for a good retailer site for stick parts that's relatively close to minimize shipping costs. 2. I don't understand the alphanumeric system these companies (Sanwa, Seimitsu, Happ etc.) use for their stick parts. How do I know the differences between similar parts?
  19. Hey guys, need help with something. I got myself a Mayflash universal PS2/PS3/PC arcade stick (my first stick), so I can Guilty and Blaz at the same time. However, my cousin (who's in no way a stick expert) says that the buttons feel stiff and he started comparing it to another stick a friend of his has, who I'm guessing has Sanwa buttons because he said that just exerting a bit more force than just resting your finger on it causes the buttons to register a move. For my stick I have to press the button almost 3/4 of the way down for it to register, but that's in no way a problem for me. But I'm asking this from an ergonomical point of view, will this cause my hand to cramp or something? I'm already feeling some discomfort with my right hand (the hand that I use to push buttanz), but maybe that's like something to do with getting used to the stick itself, rather than a problem with the buttons. Anyone? And another thing, since this is my first stick, I feel that I'm having trouble doing diagonals. Like, for example I have trouble doing forward jump, IADs or 3C or things like that. They don't come out 'clean', like when I go to training mode and turn on input display, and then try to do a diagonal direction like it comes out like . If I ty multiple times to get a 'clean' diagonal then I might be able to get it about 3/10 times if I do it slowly and deliberately enough. I have no trouble doing 236, though, although my cousin says you have to exaggerate the movement to get it right whereas his friend's stick register's it with less exaggeration of movement. SO I guess my question after all that text is: Is what I'm experiencing due to pad-to-stick transition, i.e. something normal, or is it due to a crappy joystick and/or buttons? I'm thinking of getting some Sanwa parts to swap out the stock joystick and buttons if it turns out these issues are caused by the stick itself.
  20. I think this is THE single best character guide on Dustloop. Good job, Manta.
  21. Err.. I don't know where to ask this, but since this is Haku related, here goes: Does anyone have the link to a video where Hakumen does an astral and goes " I am Hakumen. My Roflcopter goes :SWOI. SWOISWOISWOISWOISWOISWOISWOI lololololololololololololol. *sheathes sword* bitch" in a Microsoft Sam voice? Damn this post is so weird.
  22. I like how it's actually 2 different drawings (2 different a4 (?) papers) which are aligned to make a brofist. But this image is a lie. Sol will never brofist anyone. Except himself. *Sol Badguy vs Order-Sol*
  23. (In an attempt) To answer your question, I looked for HammamBakr's tutorial vid, he explained how to punish air techs, which could help if they airtech after your anti-roll 6A. I'm linking the vid directly to the part about airtechs, though if you rewind a bit you can see the part about punishing rolls in the corner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=a6ovt3MX7Gc#t=416s
  24. mAc: You talking about CS2 or CSEX?
