  1. I didn't mean like people literally "dodging". Life just happened to get in the way before our casuals could happen. Like when Tad and me were going to sit down and play. There was a bit of time left over but he wasn't feeling well and had to call it a day. There were also a few other times where people had to bail out before getting to sit down and play any friendlies. Don't worry Milln, i'll make the tournament move by swiftly as I proceed to destroy everyone in the brackets.
  2. I'd be fine with no casuals during tournaments but everyone seems to have to dodge them after tournaments are over. Seeing as we might get the next one over with faster (kind of doubt it but maybe) then casuals may be a reality, idk. Also, Astaroth, don't get to high up there sitting in your chair bro. Next time we meet, i'm bodying you. With that said, make it something cheesy like a poster or something, that'll be lol.
  3. In a bit, i'm still testing it out in the lab. It might be impossible to do with Mitsuru though. Edit: Is it weird that I miss BB? Like, really badly? I really want to play it again for some reason. Scrap the project Woz, it's not possible.
  4. @Tad: Yeah, Stunedge has made me want to mess around a bit with her in the lab myself. I didn't know he was a GG player, that's an extra bit of news. @G-Ram: You don't even have to pay attention to that post at all. I put it in here because I know that Milln, Tad (he plays everyone right now), myself, and a few others are trying to play her and would enjoy the matches period. Plus it was against a Narukami player and Akihiko player so Naimat and a few others might've wanted to see it. I've given up on the idea of having strong Yukiko mains in TN sadly. @Jackie: Some more stuff for you Matches Edit: Thinking about it now Tad, i'm surprised Yukiko wasn't at the top of your list of characters you wanted to play. I could picture you playing her honestly.
  5. Leaving this here for those who need more encouragement to play yukiko: Stunedge vs Part 1 Stunedge vs Part 2 Stunedge vs Part 3 More Stunedge
  6. @Tad: So basically, love Mitsuru more and body people? I'm either supposed to walk away from this with that or you want a FT100.
  7. We do have a lot of them don't we? I do have to admit though, it may have been more of the player that I met rather than the match-up. Those matches were just too hype for me. @Tad: Finding a job!
  8. Indeed, but it happened in P4U! I guess I should say it's the first time in a while that it felt like I was truly in my opponent's head, a completely different kind of feeling. It'll probably happen more once I learn the other charaters' options. But for now, that is going on my favorite fighting game encounters list.
  9. That moment when you run into a random online Akihiko that makes you remember why you loved playing the game and the character you play in the first place. Gosh, that match has me all hot and bothered. Two players, each utilizing their tools to make the best reads possible. Two characters, both strong in their aspect, weak in the other character's. Every read, leading to huge punishment from both sides, each match coming down to the wire. The satisfaction of making the right read, the salt of making the wrong one. THIS IS WHY I PLAY THIS GAME DAMNIT!! P.S. Mitsuru vs Akihiko is officially my favorite match-up in the game.
  10. @Astaroth: I wasn't too salty at you about our matches man (bottom line is, the better player won). I was more or less pissed at myself because of my grappler fear (carried over from Noel vs. tager) literally made me think I had a terrible match-up against you and that wasn't the case (probably quite the opposite actually). After losing to tad I had to tell myself "You have a GOOD character for this match-up, stop being free". Ultimately though, the fear still crept up on me. It's cool though, we should definitely get a bunch of casuals in, Tad is already due for our FT100, so Mitsuru vs kanji tech will be flying all over the place. @Milln: Why don't we run both systems for set-ups? We'd be able to double our load-out and the guys who showed up (Zeno's crew) who had some complaints about not being able to play at their best will be satisfied as well. I felt really bad for them because I know what it's like to not be able to play on your home console. Hope something can get worked out about that. Also, it was just minor mistakes I made on my end that got me upset. That, plus not having any Chie match-up experience and getting blown up horribly for it as well. It's cool though, that won't happen again. Edit: Sorry about playing casuals on the tourney stations, I knew better but the hunger got to me.
  11. Going to give a general shout-out to everyone, good stuff from all. Really pissed about my performance, but I can get over that. @Tad: You vanished fast as heck man, our FT100, my body was ready. Ah well, we'll get it in next time.
  12. Naimat, any chances of you picking me up?
  13. I suppose we can end things there. Ah well, thanks for some of you guys' insight on the situation. Edit: Also, did Volpe ever get picked up? I need to know if I still have a partner or not for the doubles tournament. if not, i'm showing up for just the singles' tournament tomorrow. Could really use a confirmation on that.
  14. Yeah, was just coming to say scratch what I just posted. @Grimstar: You just made my point
  15. Just tested the crossup theory you provided Lunaris. Why is it that when I get yosuke to whiff his DP, for some reason he's completely invulnerable to attacks from behind him? Has this happened to you before? Also, I haven't experienced Chie's counter first-hand. @Chandler: that really wasn't the point I was making but whatever.
  16. Why? I find Mitsuru's and narukami's DPs to be ten times easier to punish as opposed to Yosuke's. Plus, I did say that I would update once I had more info, did I not? Right now, Yosuke's DP is what gives me trouble. Not DPs where you fly fifty feet in the air and have tons of recovery.
  17. The same can be said about Yosuke's DP except worse. Not only do I have to give up pressure, I CAN'T EVEN ESTABLISH IT! His DP is by far, greater, I already listed the reasons why, you're not giving me much to go by on here. It can't be baited by blocking it? WHAT?!?!! You can't say, imma stop my pressure when I think the DP is coming, block the thing, and then punish something that has tons of recovery on her way down? Or a super that you can roll through? Really? Come on people, this is not that hard. Edit: As a matter of fact, do you even know what pressure is?
  18. You're obviously fighting day 1 Mitsurus, which is to be expected from online matches. Our matches are much deeper than that. This match-up is generally in mitsuru's favor due to 3 good reads leading to the death of Yosuke, outside of that, nothing about the match-up is particularly bad for Yosuke. I'll elaborate further: - Yosuke's normals are generally faster than Mitsuru's and close-range she can do almost nothing about his pressure (maybe not nothing but from what i've fought there doesn't appear to be that many holes in LEGIT Yosuke pressure, emphasis on legit). If you're trying to say that Mitsurus are mashing DP, then learn how to stop pressing buttons and bait it, it really isn't that hard. If you do bait the DP and you notice they have more than 50 heat, either punish her on her way down from the DP or bait the super with a roll if possible (I say if possible due to the fact that if she's in the corner it may be weird to roll through it). Also, stop trying to go for the fake aerial cross-up. You're asking to get DPed every time you do. - Yosuke's DP. Hands down, the best DP in the game. It can't be attacked, or grabbed out of from any angle by Mitsuru, and has a really good hitbox to boot. This keeps us from applying a lot of pressure on Yosuke and down right makes wake-up situations a get-out-of-jail-free card for him. It also has a very good recovery (the recovery is almost not there) plus it can be mashed multiple times. Due to it's speed, it's hard to bait and even harder to get a fatal punish off of. I've tried to preemptively bait the DP with any type of 5B whether it be charge or normal, nothing has really worked often enough to be called effective. - Next up, Mitsuru's offensive options, Our general go-to offensive option is 5A pressure. However, yosuke can sweep her out of her 5As on reaction and get free counter hits. We do have other tools like 2A (which can only gatling three times into itself and we're either left to Coup Droit, which is -2 on block, -5 on instant block or give you momentum). 5C ( good at locking Yosuke down but once the move is over he can jump out for near-free). All of these can get beaten out by yosuke's DP by the way. - Mitsuru's defensive options. 2B, her crappy anti-air. This move is so risky to use against a good Yosuke it's not even funny. His jumping and air dash speed are so ridiculous it's highly possible to have your anti-air floating out there, waiting to get punished. The hit-box on the thing is pretty mediocre. Next up, her DP, not really that hard to bait out and horribly punishable on block, and slightly so if we super-cancel it. In the end, it's nowhere near as effective as Yosuke's. - Mitsuru's general mind-set. Ultimately, our goal isn't even to lock you down, it's not probable. Our real goal is to get a counter hit of some kind on you to eventually lead to good damage and knockdowns, which don't come as easily in this match-up as people would like to believe. Though, it's still somehow in our favor (mostly due to his low health). I'll update this more once more frame data has come out, but for the most part, the difference in tools keeps this from being a walk in the park for Mitsuru, that's for sure. @Naimat: Are we still going to Milln's?
  19. The trick to that match-up is blocking. You shouldn't be trying to "out-mash" or "out-poke" Mitsuru in the first place. Mitsuru players like to keep Kanji players outside of their effective range due to the fact that one knockdown could mean the match. Her wake-up options against Kanji are laughable at best, and with a 3-frame command grab, there's no chance of me pressing a button out of the situation. To put it simply, it's free damage for Kanji. If you're really having trouble fighting Mitsuru, my best advise would simply be to bait out the j.Bs and all other type of jumping normals she has. They normally have very good hitboxes for you to DP through and are very active so you won't have to time it as much. Even if she does hit you (which isn't that likely if you've DP"ed) she won't be able to capitalise without spending meter. Other than that, you really need to be blocking more than anything, that's the only thing I could think of that Kanjis could be doing wrong in the match-up, NOT BLOCKING!
  20. Mitsuru vs Yosuke is ignorant. I feel like i'm spending more of the match trying to out-mash him than I am trying to legitimately read him. I can't poke him, hard as heck to catch him in the first place, and getting stuck in his pressure is frustrating. He's so stupid.
  21. I guess we're going to Milln's? Just when i'm trying to do laundry...
  22. Looking forward to fighting you all Saturday, been getting plenty of match-up experience so I feel really well-rounded right now. Plus I feel like my neutral game has developed a bit, idk, we'll see come Saturday. With that said though, I can finally start learning some combos and figuring out some tech traps and other shenanigans. Hopefully i'll have some interesting tricks to show off for our first tournament. So look out for that stuff. Also, Mitsuru on waifu status for life. Loving this woman with each rising of the sun. Finally found a character that plays exactly like how I want all the way down to the pokes.
  23. Arson, why we no play any matches?
