  1. @Milln: I see. I can feel you on that, especially since with so many games out it is REALLY hard to get a scene together that can open a game up to its fullest. I used to feel that way about BB, but now, I don't think I care about Fighting Game Scenes as much anymore. I don't even think I care about fighters that much anymore, lol. Edit: I guess you need to be practicing too Volpe, you're going to be carrying us since I have no enthusiam to try anymore.
  2. @Tad: Your explanation made me lol, and made me feel fat . Screw you man! HAHA!! @Milln: I can understand your logic, but your post sounded more like bashing people rather than just simply giving your opinion on things. To me, as long as people consider what they did with their time well-spent, then I see no problems. Especially since the good thing about always playing fighters is that a certain set of fundamentals will carry over with you from each game.
  3. What if the said people were merely playing the game until something better for them came along? What if that's the only game they have to tide them over until another game comes out? What then? Is that still being subject to "whimsy"? What's wrong with dabbling in a game, maybe even sticking around long enough to learn a thing or two, and then moving on to what they're looking forward to? @TTT2: I was thinking about the game, but none of the characters really call out to me honestly. It does look very fun though.
  4. @Axis: Can't really see it as 4-6 but i'll leave it at that, I have a bit of research I need to do on that match-up on my own before I can come to a conclusion like that. I will keep in mind what Stunedge said though.
  5. It really is a weird way to put things in terms of match-ups honestly. I've always felt things needed to just be like 5/5, 6/4, 7/3, etc... Unless there's a match-up just so weird that it calls for decimals, XD
  6. Ikr, but if I put the match-up at even people would flip their shit. For some reason, Mitsuru has to be at an advantage on all of her match-ups, and there's absolutely no lee-way for change even though the game has been out for like a month. Lol, FGC is the best son.
  7. @Axis: I'd have to disagree with you there. I can only really tag her persona if the Yukiko player is doing something EXTREMELY stupid. Shadowred played so solidly in our set in making sure there were no gaps for me to approach via persona/Coup Droit, all the while making sure to keep her persona from taking a beating. For a low-tier character, Yukiko vs Mitsuru is really good for Yukiko. Seeing as my slow normals and Persona moves keep me from punishing a lot of her moveset. Plus the fact that if i'm not spaced perfectly when I get in to initiate pressure once i've gotten in, she can just 2A me out of my Coup Droits and my 5As. If I block once I get in, I take a ton of chip damage as well as getting pushed back to the other side of the screen. If I get hit, I take damage and get thrown to the other side of the screen. Either ways, she's going to get me into her optimal positioning. With that said, the match-up is easily close to being in Yukiko's favor. Unfortunately, Being able to kill her in about 2 corner combos keep it from being so. I'd call it 5.5/4.5 Mitsuru's favor.
  8. Finally got a chance to get back on the forumes. Saw a lot of stuff that I missed, conversation-wise: @Jackie: Nah, Mitsuru's playstyle is pretty much, play perfectly, or die. There is no real in-between for how to approach most of her match-ups @Volpe: I agree with just about everything you said. However your advice on how to deal with Mitsuru as Labrys is a tad bit incorrect. @Kain: I'll give you all the info you need to know on the match-up after doing some lab testing. I haven't gotten to fight any really strong Labrys' yet, but that match-up is really frustrating for me I can tell just from fighting a few net-play scrubs who just constantly mash j.B. I can tell you right now that that move makes or breaks the match-up altogether. @Tad: Glad we could finally start our FT100. @Naimat: Don't get discouraged about that match-up. It really isn't as bad as it seems. It's just going to require a bit of work (which you shouldn't not be used to since Akihiko is always working in his match-ups). we'll get in a nice set next time and we'll pick everything apart @Milln: I'm hyped for the state crew battles. Definitely going to be the best event out of King of Bling.
  9. Uhh....Sure, I guess. Was that supposed to be motivational? Sounded more like you're feeling yourself too hard bro.
  10. My apologies to Bishop last night for not being able to get any matches in. I had to teach a friend of mine the Mitsuru match-up and that took about a hundred or so matches. With that said, i'll gladly make it up to you with a nice set of matches if you get on tonight. I feel like type fighting game partying. Also, i'm glad you guys are still learning stuff. It feels like i've stopped learning match-ups honestly, I don't know what it is. I guess since I have to deal with situations kind of the same (outside of Akihiko, Yukiko, and Kanji), there's nothing really significant I have to change about my playstyle. Maybe i'm just not fighting the right people or something, but either ways, the patterns don't really change much. The closest I manage to get to changing up my game is throwing a move out a few frames early or late to catch something or simply blocking more in certain matchups. While I don't mind this it is a little discouraging and i can't really tell if i'm getting better or not. LOL, like Mitsuru players are actually good in the first place or something (self-trolling, ranting, etc...). I hear everyone coming up up with new tech and what-not and it kind of shows me how limited Mitsuru is, in terms of character potential. Needless to say, i'm sad, really, really, REALLY, sad. And depressed, and melonchaly, and depressed even more...*sighs*
  11. Fighting a good Naoto is so fun! Just had a set with this really good Naoto and it got pretty intense. I felt bad that getting in and making two good reads lead to their death though. Definitely need to pick back up my training with her.
  12. Just watched some vids of Multi, the little girl with the mop. Her moveset looks hilarious as hell. I mop the floor, you trip on that wet floor and I get damage boosts, haha!
  13. @Milln/Boomcube: Guess i'll have to watch more vids on it. I do like games that reward players for being aggressive (so long as every character has really strong offensive ability and the mechanic isn't too broken).
  14. I see. Hopefully i'll get to try her out and a few other characters. I'm not really sure how the heck the game works honestly. It looks like you have assists like Marvel except using them puts you in like a temporary X-factor, except with different effects depending on the characters? Let me know if i'm getting warm.
  15. From what I saw, the chick with the arrows, Morgan I think her name is or something, looks interesting.
  16. I'd figured you'd take the edit as a troll comment, which it is. It's cool, I was type interested in playing it...I think, which is why I brought it up. I'd like to try it out. You should bring it to MTN next time if you aren't ashamed of having it out in public.
  17. Yeah, we like to go for a lot of gimmicks like sweep feint>dash>fully charged 4B to try and fake out a grab.
  18. @Jackie: Frame traps? What be those? All about MASHING THAT 5A!! Lol, nah in all seriousness though, that match-up is going to require you having a strong defense (Block low and i'm free in all aspects. I have one overhead and I can't even combo off that without meter) Block my 5As and instant block my coup droits for easy punishes. In fact, narukami's normals are so good you may not need to instant block coup droit. If you see random coup droits and 5As, you can even do the retarded slide that he has to low profile my moves, might want to practice doing so in training mode. Use your 5B to outpoke me and whatnot. Go for DP safe pressure, maybe throwing a 5A and 2A out there, but nothing fancy unless you have Ragna/Ada out there putting on the pressure for you. Ultimately though, i'm free to people who can block...LOW! If you need match-up experience, hit me up on PSN. I'll gladly take Ragna 2.0 on.
  19. Pretty much. I shouldn't have really mentioned Under-Night due to the fact that I don't have it yet, but i'm kind of banking on it being better than Persona. The same goes for BB. That's mostly due to BB being much more balanced than P4U. Heard you were playing Aquapazza, Milln. @Volpe: People usually shun quality games because they never actually had a chance at getting better/tried to get better, that's about all there is to it. As for the niche fighter community, we've been a lost cause for as long as I could remember. Edit: BB is a better game
  20. At least sponserships for Persona are possible. If anything, i'd love to get sponsored in BB:CP and maybe UNIB. However, those two may not turn out to be as successful as P4U. It's ashame better games don't get more recognition.
  21. Double post of relevence. Leaving these here for Tad/Bishop, and anyone else interested in Yukiko or Chie for that matter: Stunedge vs. Part 1 Stunedge vs part 2 Stunedge vs. Part 3 Stunedge vs Part 4
  22. Volpe/Bishop: GGs from both of you. Volpe, you're really starting to get the hang of the Mit v. Elizabeth match-up (using less Thanatos and relying more on your normals, good shit) starting to look less and less 7-3 the more we fight. Bishop, you had some really good reads and nice baiting those bursts and so on. Hoping I can get a chance to fight you in next MTN's tournamnet, if I can make it. @Astaroth/Tad: Some Kanji matches just for you guys Fab vs. Part 1 Fab vs. Part 2 Fab vs. Part 3 Fab vs Part 4 Extra stuff: This is just in case some people might be out of the loop, apparently the next major, NEC, is going to have top japanese players flown in. With that said, Japan is having a qualifier to determine who will get to rep them on American soil, it's going to be hype as hell.
  23. I'm on currently if you want some matches.
