  1. Just do a barrel roll... Edit: Been playing marvel since like 4 in the morning. NOVA IS ILL! Is anyone going to be playing Marvel at Milln's?
  2. Looking at some I-No and Millia frame data. I like what I see. Hm, might actually drop by for some gear.
  3. I'll bring my PS3 I guess. I'll even bring a mic so you can all talk back and forth with each other or whatever.
  4. Was talking about your place on Monday, I may just show up and chill out to some music for a while or something. That's about all i'm good for right now. I hate all fighters right now due to Persona withdrawals.
  5. I'm currently not playing any of the games on the list of games being played there so i'll probably not show. Even though, Volpe might want to go so if he does then maybe, it's really just up to how much he wants to come up there honestly.
  6. I'd agree with this sentiment. After all, I often find myself wanting to put Mai on anchor, even though everyone constanly says she's a point character to build meter and what-not. I don't really think of her like that, especially after learning my 99% with her. I have no real team yet but she'll probably end up being anchor if I ever decide to play the game again. I think i've said this previously before but there is no black and white in this world, and the same could be said about fighting games. Do what comes naturally for you and everything will work out if it was meant to.
  7. Or "Tasha get over here!" Or "Mai wouldn't mind a big soda!" whenever you select Shen.
  8. @Tad: Nothing, I was just wondering something is all. You're still having that casual first to 100 with me in P4U right? I'm pretty much going to be renting you for that entire day so don't think you'll get to do much else man. @Combo topic: I don't really have much to say honestly. It shouldn't take you that long to feel out a characters move-set and understand their general use and how they should be used (It takes me about pretty much 5 minutes of lab-work to figure it out). I do believe feeling some parts of the game out is important, but there is going to be times where combos are going to be crucial (mostly due to the fact that that where most of your oki set-ups come from anyways), and in Mai's case it's very much so. While she does have good cross-up potencial and a few gimmicks (Her Ukibane and her cross-up aerial normals), she doesn't net that good of reward off them compared to the risk she has to take to do said gimmicks. Ukibane is a really good tool to use, AT FIRST, but it gets extremely predictable and easy to block after seeing it a few times. Your best bet if you ask me on how to play her is to simply know your frame-traps, I think this is the thing that will make or break Mai players. Poking solidly while combining your musasabi no Mai to return to safe neutral positions and then building a wall with Ryenbus and fans to force your opponent to have to get in again while building pretty good meter at the same time is essentially your best bet for getting the most out of her. There are a ton of easy, meterless combos you can do with her if you're running her on point and some really high-damaging combos you can do if you're willing to spend a bit of meter. I can go ahead and write up the most optimal combos for you if you want Woz, I can even give you a 99% i've developed with her if you want to run her as anchor like I plan to do. Ultimately though, I would stress learning her frame-traps and how to abuse Musasabi no Mai to an art. Low light kick> Low light kick> Standing Light kick> standing hard kick is generally what I like to use with her. Opponents can't press buttons against it. After you've done your last hit you get some time to decide your next move or bait out your opponents', or charge up to use Musasabi no Mai. Also, throwing meaty fans to force your opponent to respect you on wake-up is extremely effective in almost all knockdown situations. If thrown full-screen you have time to actually run along-side the fan (kind of like what mature can do with her projectile) and apply safer mix-ups and pressure from there (I usually tend to make this my go-to tool if i'm trying to apply high-low mix-up with her). You can even combo off of it if you can react in time to seeing it connect on your opponent. Again though, i'm just a free scrub who doesn't know how to play fighting games so I don't know how helpful you will think this information is. Looks like this turned out to be more of a discussion about Mai than one of combos for me. She's still my favorite character in game, and I think she has quite a few hurdles to overcome when it comes to the rest of the cast, but I think most of it is manageable (Clark, K, and some other characters are giving her the most trouble, along with some other characters i'm not sure about).
  9. Further elaboration required. Woz, I need to play you in all games now, we will have hype mirror matches until the day we die. Edit: I just read a few of these other posts, this just got homo real quick-like. The fuck wrong with you people MTN?
  10. Woz, why is it that we end up playing the same characters in every game, minus BB?
  11. Damn, The Slaughterer sounds a lot like someone I know. Who is it that Naimat says plays like this? Hm, I wonder... It takes all kinds of people to making a community a growing force if you ask me. While it's easier to just approach something as everyone else does, you unlock and/or discover things you normally wouldn't if you simply challenge status quos, if you ask me anyways. Accept nothing as it is, there is no black and white in the world, and fighting games and competition are no exception.
  12. @Klein: I'm pretty sure he was asking for a breakdown of the match after already watching it. @Volpe: All I can really say about the match is that it seemed like Bala was trying to play his own game at the time. He didn't appear to care too much about breaking down Mad Kof's Duo Long and the mind-set behind it and as a result proceeded to lose a lot to it. The pattern you noticed in MadKof's playstyle is a bit noticeable but it isn't very much worth mentioning seeing as he probably stayed in that frame of mind due to Bala not adjusting therefore it not being necesary. It was a very good match, high-level Kof is definitely worth salvaging, wish I could fight people at this high a level. @Tad: I second KrazyKorean's "This"
  13. It's pretty much this except with some honorifics added to it. I pretty much don't want to pay much more than what I did during the GG side-tournament we had to play it. Especially since I won't go far enough into it to get competitive, my interest level with this game goes on and off so much that now i'm saying "f*** it" If it stays side-tournament status, i'm in. If not, no harm done. I'll just be the odd-man-out...as usual Also, yes Naimat was trolling.
  14. This is so level-headed it almost hurts.
  15. I would've liked to see Guilty stay a side-tourney sort of thing, honestly, I won't enter it if it becomes one of the main tournament line-up. Other than that, I have no qualms with the line-up.
  16. Yeah, she can Papstr. FRC'ing that Chemical Love. That name, YES! Looks like Dizzy's up to bat, hello original main. How I don't miss thee. Edit: Does anyone else notice that as Slayer is doing combos, he mutters something that sounds like he's saying "He's coming for me"? I'm assuming he's talking about the dude that he stole that girl he's with at the beginning from.
  17. Props to Ustream's ads freezing the video just when the I-no player went up to play. Also, shout-outs for the problem being fixed as soon as the i-no player died. SMFH!!!
  18. Downloaded. I probably will start saying that more.
  19. Tophet, what be your real name? As a matter of fact, it would help me greatly if I knew all of your real names.
  20. Astaroth vs Me, around 3:20. Does that not sound like Pickle? Sup Psyken. Were you the one who won SG? The one I lent the controller to? I really wanted to talk to that guy.
  21. I agree 100% Chandler. Edited my previous post because YouTubers be funny. That person's voice was tripping me out the whole vid. Edit: Just got finished watching every vid with commentary. THE VOICE ONLY SHOWED UP IN ONE VID!
  22. Quick question: Was Pickle at MWC sunday? There's someone in the commentary that sounds just like him. It keeps making my ? symbol go up whenever I watch a vid. Edit: Also, I bursted out laughing when I read that one YouTuber's statement about Naimat's commentary. It certainly does sound like he has something against the characters if you don't know him well, but we all know better.
  23. Wait...so do I have Woz's controller or the Arcade's? 0_0" But yeah, it really was awesome meeting you in real life Woz. We've played way too many matches online but I literally flipped my **** after I found out you were somewhere in Tennessee, life can be awesome sometimes.
