I have tossed out the date and plans to the couple of friends I know on PSN who are fellow IL natives. Hopefully they make appearances as well. Also started training my friend. He is unsure of who he should play. I am not really sure what he is looking for. He said he liked Hazama's style but not how he plays(no surprise there). It'll be a process I think.... I am also going to try(key word) and train up on some Tekken 6 just in case my coworker comes out.

This is true. I have had 4D beaten by a lot of things that were not necessarily lows. Random fact: Relius' 5B misses Noel while she is crouching. /boggle

I will know tonight hopefully if I will have a third person coming to Chicago for casuals. Crossing fingers. @Shin: I think it might be a wise idea to keep your initial post(#1) updated with the current itinerary (basic plans/times/locations/overhead costs and the like). That way people that do and do not post can easily find the information without having to read through all of this mumbo-jumbo. Just a thought.

Actually this is a thread for people who are trying to create an offline fighting game scene in our State(and surrounding areas). As far as Tournaments in Chicago I would not be the one to answer that question. But feel free to remain and post if you are interested in joining everyone else that is tired of netplay issues.

After some more netplay I should have enough BS clips for a shenanigans video. I have this weird ability to draw complete and utter bullshit out of thin air on netplay. Like the other day Mu's Stein laser went right through Lamda's head and didn't connect. Forgot to save that clip, along with some others. Hard to remember to catch them all.

A tourney would be fun but I think our skills would vary wildly haha. That is probably no different from a regular tournament though. I'll help fill out the bottom-tier.

That is indeed the case. The fact that I am approaching from the west pretty much puts them in the same time-frame as far as distance. At least according to Google Maps haha.

After playing a lot with a Relius user tonight(not necessarily a professional by any means) and testing tons of his stuff out I can definitely say his Vol Tedo(Potato) is much worse than his Req Vinum. At least that is my personal experience. It fires immediately after startup(Think Big Bang Smash in CS1) and will straight-up punish anything you are doing(outside blocking) across a very large section of the screen. He can also use Req Vinum to bait a punish and reversal right back into Vol Tedo. Of course that takes 100 heat and will not be seen too often. Beware still. His j.A is obnoxious. VERY obnoxious. Leads into easy jump-ins and frame traps since it is 0 on block. I am not very familiar with his notation so I will stop there for now. I would not know where to rank him until I have fought him more and with more experience Relius players. It does not feel like it is worse for either character currently though. Although I did have trouble connecting the 2B > 6C > Silencer stuff. Maybe I was just unlucky. Edit: After going a few more rounds with Relius I can say that his pressure is decent but his mix-up is not as good as Carl's(at least in my opinion). Ignis runs out of meter very fast so weathering the storm is usually the safer bet instead of mashing. I still had trouble with the standard 2B > 6C pickup after MF/air grab. I think the 2A x 2 method might be the way to go. His Doll Combo DD(like Carl's Rhapsody) is pretty fast and can actually be used as a reversal as far as I could tell(since it fires at Relius vs. wherever the doll was at the time). I ate it a couple of times while not expecting it. P.S. Noel's Counter Assault is uniquely useful for getting out of this particular DD. Relius can get a full-screen corner push off of this from anywhere on the screen. Just wait it out and CA around Relius and hope it pays off since it's easy to bait.

Thanks Shin. I have confirmed there is a total of a 5 minute difference between going to one versus the other. A totally irrelevant amount on my end.

Is there any way to get the addresses to both places? I want to look them up to confirm what I am seeing on Google Maps. It says 2h59m to one and 2h55m to the other. Not sure if these are the correct locations of either place.

I am not really interested in it. Never played a Persona game and it just honestly holds little incentive to me. :/

@Callisto: Ironic....I also played on Ramuh. I got to 75 and took a hiatus. Lack of funds/time because of finishing college. Then they raised the level cap and I never looked back. I may have actually seen you in that game before. Hard to say due to how much time has passed. My character's name was Nikola. Mithra RDM/SAM/DNC woo! You all have fun tonight. I don't want to hear any horror stories....

@Ve: If you know any of CS2 Mu she's more or less the same(or so I am told). I told my boss I was going to be out of town on the last weekend of the month so he knows. I hadn't planned on showing up to work anyways. Keep up the hype!!

So I am doing the CT reconstruction and get to the Noel/Hazama part. I was taken aback by the new Hazama VA but it was all right after a few lines. Then he suddenly busted out the JP dialogue. Unintentionally hilarious. Poor on the quality end, however.

Changing venues is fine but what(if anything) do you lose in doing so? Sometimes extra $$$$ can be worth it for better facilities and service. I don't know the places so I can only inquire. I don't care one way or the other unless it is a drastic change in services provided.

Well thanks for the input guys. I suppose I would have to rig up an HD recording situation then. Not a problem it just hogs tons of hard drive space. And after a few hours..... Ya… Unless maybe we just recorded later matches and "brackets" and whatnot. I don't know. I use a Hauppauge for recording as well. I am going to test to see how well it records to an external hard drive(I am not expecting good results) this weekend I think. My internal drives would cry supporting that much HD footage haha. I also generally scrap raw footage after uploads. It's just too hard to justify keeping it usually. As far as the Tekken situation goes: We can figure something out I am sure.

Look at you guys being productive. It's adorable. Nice to see Heroic_Legacy around. It's a name that's hard as hell to forget! I may have another interested party. However, he is a Tekken player(might be able to convert him to the dark side hehe). Not sure if he can go at all but I mentioned it and he said he would think about it. I would imagine there are games of all varieties going on at these venues and not just what we bring? I am not sure how it works exactly since I lack the firsthand experience. I would just hate to bring friends who like other particular games and not have their preferences sated to an adequate degree. Also, as far as recording, which is something I would like to do, do their setups have proper outputs for SD recording? HD is nice but it is an absolute memory hog. Not that anyone wants to play in SD though. We have time to iron out details so it's no rush. Sorry for this long post.~

I have stuffed Fenrir into MTW before and was able to safely RC out of it. Granted I still normally died directly after it but it's still possible. This really isn't useful information though. Don't those DP's just clash and then get countered? Disregarding the fact that you can input multiple times. Although I have seen some weird things lately regarding MTW. Ashura(clash) > Daifunka works. I also saw Valkenhayn throw > cancel into ground DD somehow. /off topic With Tager's new heat gain and damage buff will we need to see less gimmicks? So far I have seen less but it is still early on. His damage seems to easily make up for it.
