  1. That's not a question Blade. :/
  2. If people are teching out of lvl.2 RI before you can do anything you're doing something wrong. What do you do before Rock It? Not 5HS I hope... because you won't be able to do a follow up afterwards. 2D>RI lvl.1 is more like something you use if you know you're opponent's style. For instance if your opponent knows that's setup it won't work. Most videos I've seen of Order-Sol and matches I've played I don't see 2D>Rock It. It's a move based on the knowledge of your opponent. Rushing in and 2D isn't a amazing option since you limit yourself to CC, specials,or stopping. It could work if you're opponent can't block low. As if... 6K on oki... you're at +Fs. Continue your offensive or CC or back off. You ever try baiting your opponents? If people know you're gonna attack and you expect them to block you can try throwing. Hell even not doing 6K can work in your favor. Trying baiting you're opponents. Order-Sol has a lot of potential. Do you see 6K being used a lot? There's a reason for that. Mix up your moves. You better have a plan if they start beating 6K. And stop trying to mimic people. The players you see aren't you and you aren't playing against their opponents. I have a saying when it comes to people who play the same character I do: "we all use the same tools just in different ways." We may play the same character and even fight the same characters but people are too different to just mimic what you see. What you see may work against their opponent but may not work against yours. The only thing I see combos vidoes combos is for trying out how accurate your execution is by doing uncommon things. Playstyle isn't like a combo. And if you're having trouble doing 5K instead of 6K, go into training mode and practice releasing 6 and/or pressing 4 before doing 5K. I had that problem when I started practicing Rock It lvl.2 combos.
  3. Sol having bad AA's is nothing but a joke. You shouldn't have taken that seriously. GV is an odd AA. At the right timing you beat I-no's dives with it. Sol's 6P is below average IMO....
  4. I truly believe there is a lot of bounty hunting in the GG world. Especially on Gears. Obviously there are only 3 Gears in the game.... I have noticed that what happened with the Gears is very similar to what happened in this world with humans. Gears were never evil. They were supposed to be the next step in the evolution of the human race. Like the X-men story. Justice wasn't evil either. What Justice saw was Gears being treated like trash by the human race. It's the same thing as racism towards asians, hispanic, indian, africans, etc. And it's the same thing as the witch hunts. People place blame on something and it's common for people regardless of generation to view others and a plague and/or inferior to themselves. People treating other people harshing is always a part of humanity. The horror movies tend to draw things from real life that actually happened. Makes me wonder how Ishiwatari views the world. The phrase that That Man said to I-no:"I want Gears to be more than Gears and man to be more than man."
  5. If people are trying to bait, I use other options. Throws, pokes etc... No I meant simple things like 3 normals then VV. I never meant sidewinder combos. Using it by not using it? Sounds like the line"fighting without fighting". You mean using the fact that you're opponent is trying to bait to your advantage? What I did was what I stated above: Started to use pokes and throws more. They can't use their fastest normals either except for Axl but his is a more angle based/hitbox thing for wake ups. If your opponent tries to bait your VV when used as an AA by doing empty jump ins, you in turn air throw and/or 5K, j.P. If they try to bait it on your wakeup don't do it. You have throws, backdash, normals at your disposal. The main is to use your other options whatever they are. If people start to try to bait VV don't do it use what else you have. Even if it's wake up and do nothing.
  6. That's what I see a lot of people do. And of course charge keep. I really should mix that into my game. They are mainly for small combo enders and charge keep and building charge. Rock It lvl.1 CH is odd. I'm not used to landing CH Rock It. But if you and you can land it: -2K,5S,5HS,SJC,j.S,j.HS,j.D,BRP or -2S,5HS,IAD,j.P,j.S,j.D,SV The main thing is you must be QUICK. It's very easy to miss the combo window. SV is a distance thing. If you aren't close enough it won't hit twice. HOS's j.D pushes out on hit which is why you use BRP instead. I tend not to use SV lvl.1 in combos outside of midscreen AA combos. Overhead? Fullscreen against some opponents. And it also depends on if your opponent knows if they can punish it.
  7. A nice amount: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu80GdUVWbU Faust vs Venom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp78PsQJVFA Dizzy vs Venom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXw7WoTVnHE Jam vs Venom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvcIReZEcLc Dizzy vs Venom(different) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haFD3osHRWk Baiken vs Venom
  8. Nice find Blade.... I haven't played the XX story mode in quite some time but I remember something like That Man saying that everyone is important(i.e. plays a role in the story). Which was in response to I-no goign around turning the cast against each other. A few things that have bugged me for a while: -Sol's Dragon Install. How did he switch it from an attack to a powerup. I have this theory that it's kinda like Kaioken that Goku uses. More importantly, how does the Fuuenken affect DI. It only boosts fire magic. Did Sol after he acquired Fuuenken did some specialized DI training? -Testament being a Gear. So apparently his mind is so strong that he didn't become consumed by his Gear nature whereas Sol wears a supression device. Does that mean Testament is mentally stronger than Sol? -Millia's sacrifice for her powers... I dunno why but I suspect it's childbirth. -Zappa's summons. Are they from S-ko or are they various actual summons that cursed him like S-ko did? -I always wanted to know if Justice used her OMEGA-PROTON cannon on civilians.
  9. Fixed.
  10. I think Raven is Axl. If he wasn't why would Axl go through time slips? The theory is that two exact [insert whatever] cannot occupy the same space. If Raven wasn't Axl then what would trigger the time slips? Nothing. And I must admit, it's good to have the story discussion going on again.
  11. WUT? Potemkin is easier than Sol. OMG POTEMKIN BUSTAH!!!
  12. I experiment. If I can beat it with VV or something else, I will. VV is never an only option for me. Wait, you mean Sol players being the ones who try to bait VV? The way I saw it was if I can beat X with VV, in response my opponent might stop using X. This can lead to me being able to utilize other options instead of riding VV. My main thing with using VV is to counter against attacks. Not all attacks. Just some. I try other options as well. Sometimes I do jump in with j.P and j.HS or j.S. Pretty much a learning experiment for me. I do try other normals since chances are I can get much better damage off of them than VV. Also have you noticed that since AC came out pretty much no one ends simple strings with VV KD anymore? A simple string into VV can carry an opponent further into the corner than BR. Just because the damage was reduced isn't a reason to stop using it to me.
  13. My main use of VV/SV is a counter tool. IMO Sol is a great character to bait and punish with. For instance vs Testament. Testament zones Sol with everything he has. At first I would just FDC and block if need be but after a while I became agitated from having to put up with that. So I started countering pokes with VV. Mostly things I knew I can execute VV against. A few matches against Slayer proved that jumping in on him was risky since a lot of people think Sol will jump in with j.P and j.HS. As such the Slayer I was fighting would AA with 2S. This would counter my jump ins and lead to Slayer's bitch ass combos. So I started to jump in and do nothing, if I see his 2S, I VV it. 6P? Block. BBU? Block. Even against the local Millia player. He started AA me with her 6P. It got on my nerves. So I when I jump in, thanks to 6P's SLOW and OBVIOUS animation, I started to VV it. I practice executing VV a lot vs various normals in training mode. It does help. If Sol doesn't VV that's one less thing for people to worry about. So I try to use everything Sol has. VV is a great tool IMO. It beats so many pokes. Damage wise it isn't all that great unles you have meter. But it does affect your opponent mentally. They start to learn that you can't just start poking at Sol. You have to poke cautiously. But, it's a 2 way street. You won't counter with VV everytime. Chances are you will mess up at some point. Your opponent starts to play safer and smarter. It's all part of the game. I remember my opponents thought I was doing it at random. The main reason I started to counter with VV was because everyone I play uses higher ranked characters:Eddie/Slayer/Millia/Jam/Baiken/Testament/Potemkin. And they are quite the pain in the ass. I had to do something.
  14. Well what I got from it was that Axl and Raven cannot occupy the same space. So, as we've seen numerous times, Axl gets sent through a time warp. Maybe Raven's existence is more powerful than Axl's existence thus resulting in Axl being the one to go through the time warps.
  15. I'm concerned about getting in on Faust. That, and I don't know crap about his normals. His AA's, pokes, mixups etc. I know Faust zones HOS but outside of that I got nothing besides the standard AA's. My concerns are: -What not to poke with -What beats what -His pressure(besides block string > item toss -His mixups -Getting in -What specials not to use
  16. Sol became a Gear 60 years before Justice appeared. Apparently during those 60 years was when he was working on the Outrage. That's what? 2070-2080? Then Sol starts his 100 years of battle experience. 2172 Sol leaves the knights. FF 3 years and Sol kills Justice. Some time after that Dizzy pops up....
  17. Actually I'm looking at it like: You mess up, Potemkin does big damage. Hell if you play a character that HAS to get in close at one point or another you're going toe 2 toe. No I-no player in their right mind dashes in randomly. As an I-no player myself I have a plan. Fact: If I can I will fly in under Note oki/cover. IMO worst case scenario he flicks the Note. Too me while important, not a big deal. My gameplan vs Potemkin: Send in notes, move in cautiously, mix up once in. He attempts to jump in anywhere outside of close range: HCL. STBT vs 6HS oki. If he knocks me down, pray that I have the skill, knowledge, and reflex to save my ass. Personally maybe 5.5-4.5
  18. 1.6P beats everything aerial except the Note. 2.His 5K(or2k) is so good on wakeup. 3.Potemkin Buster. IT'S AN INVINCBLE GRAB THAT DOES AT LEAST 140 DAMAGE AND CAN BE FRCed. 4.He can do HUGE damage EASY. 5.Has more range than I-no. 6.His air throw range is what I-no's USED to be. Don't underestimate Potemkin Buster. It's the butt of jokes sometimes but that move is one of the best moves in GG. Now is the matchup 7-3? No. 6-4 maybe not.... The main thing I say I-no has going for her in this fight is her great High/low/throw game. That throws off Potemkin. That's your best bet to beat him.
  19. Still not seeing how this is a favorable matchup for her BMS. We're talking Potemkin here. he defies logic.
  20. Most of what I heard about Sol being Dizzy's dad is mostly some crap about how Sol's a Gear, random fanpairings of Justice and Sol, and Necro Install. If there was any other possible references someone please post them.
  21. So Testament doesn't have strong AA's....fine. But Potemkin? He can 6P Order-Sol's SV. The only things I say that I-no has going for her vs Potemkin is that A)He's slow, B)She's very mobile, C) He lacks fast reversals. And BMS seems to have forgotten Pot and flick the Note FRCed or not. In one very disgusting vs Eddie match, I-no fired a Note and Eddie reflected it and it hit I-no killing her. When someone can REVERSE your rushdown/pressure/mixup tool you must remember that. Personally I wouldn't say I-no has a bad AA. I'd say more of an average AA. As for her best matchup.. jeez. That's tough. Don't know who.... I really don't think these are favorable matchups for her at all. I wouldn't say they're 7-3 either. The odds are better than that.
  22. You think Potemkin(6P one of the best and on CH leads to KD with Heat Knuckle) to be one of her best matchups? And Eddie and Testament too? Clarify please.
  23. Good post. And yeah you have succeeded in having the most annoying background ever.
