  1. Here's a recent FT5 with our local Azrael player. Please point out any bad habits or patterns I have. My hit confirms and combos weren't that good that day :/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAtypVTBYcs
  2. Drive special will find utility as an actual callout for burst baits now.
  3. Here's some Hakumen footage from those recent streams with some combo theory going on.
  4. Here's a larger picture of the new animation for the second hit of Renka. The new drive special looks really fun. Though Hakumen looks like CPE with a new special right now. Hopefully things change more once CF hits arcades.
  5. Just wanted to post our TSTX poster. Get ready for the tournament in two weeks!

Tournaments start at 1:00 pm sharpy. Doors open at 12 noon. WHERE: University of Manitoba, Room 224 University Center HOW MUCH: $5 Registration. $10 Entry fee for each tournament. Spectating and casual play are free entry. If you have questions or comments, please leave us a message on Facebook and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Otherwise, feel free to email any questions or comments to goc@chipdamage.com. PRIZES: Cash prizes with nothing taken from the pot entries. The pot is split among top 3 with a 70/20/10 ratio. TEAM TOURNAMENTS: A-cho Style Rules. Each player will face off with one of the opponents team members until all the members of a team are eliminated in a FT1 match. E.g. Team 1: A & B, Team 2: X & Y. A plays X, and B plays Y. If X and Y win their matches, they progress, but if X wins and B wins, X plays B and the victor's team goes through. Winner must stick with their character/team in the current set they're playing. (e.g. If X win and B win their matches, they cannot switch characters when they face each other). No additional character rules for team tournaments. Match format is FT1 all the way through to Grand Finals. CONSOLE: All tournaments are PS3 except for the following games: Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting will be on Xbox 360. We will need volunteers for UMVC3 Xbox consoles. Mortal Kombat X is on PS4. RULES: Rules are standard for every game. Double elimination tournament brackets with best two out of three matches. Grand finals and Winners/Losers finals are three out of five. Winner keeps same character, loser may switch character. UMvC3 has the only exception of being 3/5 sets throughout the entire bracket. We follow the standard EVO rule set. This includes banned wireless controllers. This is a BRING YOUR OWN STICKS/CONTROLLER event. All games will be played on US Playstation 3 consoles unless otherwise noted. The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use, make sure you have a friend who can donate. For pad/PS2 stick players, we tend to have PS2 pads and/or converters around, but don't take this as confirmation of us having them there for you. Bring your own to be safe as opposed to being disqualified for not having a controller available at time to play. We cannot hold up the tournament for your convenience. See our full event rules here. http://chipdamage.com/forums/discussion/918/official-tournament-rules
  7. With respect to this combo route you can also use enma as the starter and it will have similar corner carry and I find easier execution. For most characters you can use two 5As and get similar damage except for Kagura, Rachel, Lambda, Nu, Litchi, Makoto. For those 6 you need to use three 5As. Or you could just stick with three 5As and have what seems to be a universal combo on everyone at the sacrifice of a 100 damage. I think most people don't use it due to wanting to save meter for big damage. I'll probably start using it when approaching the corner.
  8. Okay, so I added whatever translations we had to the OP. I didn't organize it but hopefully this is good enough until the next loketest.
  9. And another thing that was posted.
  10. Well I'm just going to copy some things from the loketest thread to here for our own records.
  11. Well Mac their on twitch which I can barely watch so.... if they were on youtube then I could definitely take a look at them. Also since you only recently got Extend you're probably still coming to terms with Hakumen's changes and alot of what I might be saying is do better combos... oh and play offline :V
  12. Raxo - You should be less reliant on Hakumen's C normals in neutral. While decent their slow and don't gatling into anything without spending meter. Work on using more 2A and 2B into your ground game and more j.B while in the air. Also you don't want to use full screen shippu so much unless it will kill. Meter is better spent on extending pressure or getting more damage in combos. Those are my initial impressions.
  13. I figured we should have a new topic for this. Here's some stuff from the general info thread. Hopefully someone can translate it. And a hakumen match which doesn't show too much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZU-nuAA-KM&feature=youtu.be
  14. @Mac - Yea you can save offline replays now. Just go to settings and you'll be able to turn it on there. @Moblin - For the times that I could've used 5C, for example as a DP punish, I should've. The only way you can recover fast enough to block a burst is if the first hit is a CH, and that applies to both 2B or 5C. I mainly use 2B because its easier to land raw than a 5C, due to being faster and more useful in pressure.
  15. Thanks for the advice guys. I haven't incorporated the 6A>6B safejump into my game yet but hopefully soon. With Jin, in general I'm okay with him spending meter on his D DP since he doesn't get huge reward from it and prevents him from converting his hits into bigger damage. Other characters with good DPs, I still have trouble reading when they'll DP.
  16. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but Hakumen is standing in the dead zone of Kokonoe's 3C.
  17. What safe jump are you talking about? Off of 3C knockdown?
  18. So here are two FT5s I had with a couple local friends recently. Any criticism or advice is welcomed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkmdDdBeKQ0 I thought I played neutral fairly decently. Though there are a lot of key combo drops in the set from both sides. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFrs5RIG7cs I made a bunch of bad decisions in this set with poorly placed counters and sweeps.
  19. The last few posts should really go into the Kagura MU thread instead of being forever lost under general discussion.
  20. Carl's j.2C can't be cancelled on block anymore in CPEX, making all of our counter grabs whiff. However you can punish it special cancelling counters. https://youtu.be/zvGA9UIJ2Z4 This only works on cross up j.2C, you can get a guaranteed punish with Yukikaze and Shippu will work as well for the most part.
  21. Here are some superball punishes for CPEX Hakumen. https://youtu.be/IPOragNeV0M https://youtu.be/NXT2Ey6ckRs We could probably do these in 1.1 but they were not as optimal as other routes. This is probably all we have available to us now.
  22. That is an incredibly unsafe string considering the 4C itself is -9 already.
  23. The speed boost is nice but I much prefer the fatter hitbox from before. https://youtu.be/v4lAcDDTNtU?t=2m29s
  24. Alternatively you can just 2D the first hit of Litchi's j.2D and not have to deal with the crossup.
  25. I assume this is post patch but it looks like Hakumen now gains back more meter after getting hit as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbC0WMhYUJM
