  2. Funny enough the guy who I linked in the video thread yesterday (11 dan Ram) is actually the ranked 1 Bedman (12 dan). And ranked 2 Ram. Can't really read his name. It has Bedman in the first part and Last in the parentheses though
  3. Corner combos look pretty free form and have multiple variations. Which lead into oki. People look like their unsure what to do with her midscreen bnbs though Ive seen them do 5KP > 6S/HS or 5PP > 6S/HS but not 5PPP > 6S/HS. You probably cant cancel the 3rd hit of her chain combos into summons.

  5. Yea maybe so. But I was mostly mentioning how her poor meter gain affects her defense. If this were say Blazblue it would be different. Since the barrier gauge is a resource of its own which refills overtime. But in GG you have to use your meter to barrier guard. And in Xrd faultless defense sucks your tension immensely compared to some of the other iterations. This still wouldn't be a huge problem if she had a meterless dp. But she doesn't have one,
  6. Nice avatar. It's here. 1:16:15-1:41:15. Granted he probably just started playing her that day. But a lot of what he was doing was interesting. And not what the other Ram's were doing
  7. Her neutral seems ok. Other characters have arguably better neutral and some defensive option to get them out of situations. And she's currently the only one in the cast with meter gain like this. Some matchups with her are hard to watch. Rushdown heavy or characters who can set up better than her give her problems before she can set up herself. I saw Fino emulating Venom playstyle with her the other night and it seemed to work effectively. A lot of players are playing her different ways in neutral. And they also have differing oki routes. In the coming months things will probably condense and optimal neutral control and oki will be figured out. I'm eager to see Fino work with her though. And I like watching Batako. The other Ram's are so so. Some are really offensive heavy and don't set up as much. And some set up a little too much and get bopped. Either way the character looks really fun.
  8. The more I watch the more I see that this character can be bulldozed rather easily. And the problem that contributes to that is her abysmal meter gain. Options like faultless defense, dead angle, and reversal explode seem iffy. Faultless takes a ton of tension away as you block in this game and she barely has much meter at any given time. So it goes through her bar and the opponent is still within an offensive range. Sword normals give her chunks of meter if they're the starter but it scales pretty bad in combos. Specifically once the combo has gone on for a while. And combos that don't involve the sword barely has her tension bar twitch. During neutral 6S/HS hits give her an ok amount but it still doesn't compensate for the poor meter gain from everything else. I've seen in some matches where it's completely one sided and by the time Ram is almost dead she only has about 70-80%ish tension. IB seems to give her a reasonable amount though. B shield seems somewhat ok since its 25% tension and less expensive than dead angle or explode and you get your meter back if you were successful. I guess B shield, IB, 1 frame jumping, reversal gold burst, and backdash will be her main ways to get out of pressure.

  10. CSE visibly has less frame advantage though. Oh.. you meant Sacred Edge. Nevermind. But it's not like you can wallstick them twice. If you try to 6Dust and wallstick again I think they'll spin out. And regular Dust probably isn't too good because they'll tech in the air.
  11. From the normals chart I linked it looked like Moja189, the person who made the chart, left out some rekka chains. I thought she could only go into her chain combo from the 5KPP chain and she was forced to only go from overhead after the first P. But it looks like she can go into the chain from 2KPP and she can also do 2KPK to go on low on the last hit. You can see the example here. It kills the Slayer because he stands in preparation for the overhead. I can assume the same can be done with 5KPK. It looks like she can go into the overhead chain by doing 2PPP as well. Or 2PPK for the low.

  13. Nothing done in those matches should come as a surprise to you if you actually read her changes.
  14. Black is 6S and White is 6HS to summon them. Its in the opening post of this thread. It looks like they track the opponents location from the point you do the command. Then they slash afterwards. After this they stay in place by themselves. Pressing 6S/HS again while their out just has them track the opponent again. If the opponent is close enough to the bat when you summon again theyll just slash immediatly instead of teleporting and slashing. 4S/HS recalls the respective sword depending on the normal you pressed. The only thing I'm still unsure of is that sometimes the swords will either slash or swing. I'm not sure what the input is for the swing. Maybe you hold 6S/HS for a bit to do it.
  15. Slightly delaying the 5DA after the 2DA usually works. Delaying it allows the character to have the chance to bounce a bit higher from the 2DA so the dash 3C will catch them
  16. Here are her normals. Not linking the image directly because it's huge. Quality isnt the best but you can still read what normal is what Also, thickness. From what I've seen she has 3 grounded overheads. 6K, 5KPP, and 214K. 6K has short range but looks strong to use on sword oki since the sword will combo if it hits and you'll be safe if they block the overhead. I saw 6K > 5P being linked a couple times and comboing on a crouching opponent. 5KPP seems risky because she can't do any other normal after 5KP besides another P. 214K I think I've seen them combo after with 5P. Might have been CH though but I'm not too sure. S and HS normals change depending on if she's swordless or not. f.S, 5HS change and I don't think she has access to 2S or 2HS if swordless. j.S and j.HS change as well. Elven mentioned j.HS hits mid and not overhead, Not sure about swordless. Despite having watched a lot of the footage repeatedly, I'm still confused on her sword mechanic. Edit: Actually, I think I somewhat get it now. S normals are for the Black bat and HS normals are for the White bat. I saw her do 5HS[e] even though she had one sword on her. But then I noticed the bat was Black. I remembered when she did 5HS with the sword earlier the bat that was doing the normal was the White one. This clears up a lot of question I had. So 2S or 2HS are only available if you have the respective sword to actually do the normal. The Black bat covers horizontal ranges while the White one covers vertical. Kurushii mentioned some of this in his boss notes. Using the Black summon sacrifices her horizontal space control with f.S, 2S, and j.S to have the bat do the same thing while tracking the opponent on the screen with each summon she does. Same thing goes for vertical space and the White bat. But you sacrifice 5HS, 2HS, and j.HS in exchange. So she herself controls one axis of the screen while the set bat covers the opposing axis. Thats.... a really cool concept. But i notice using setting both bats in neutral leaves RamV herself kind of boned when it comes to the normals department. Since she'll just have her limbs for normals, which dont have the best range. But in return she gains access to Toranshi overdrive Batako usually would set White in neutral and keep Black so he could still control his immediate space with 5S and j.S. But would set both for corner lockdown and oki.
  17. The second combo you mentioned had 2 5A's in it. Which would prorate the damage. The second combo in the video is pretty much the same route as the first one but he's at a much higher level. And he deals 200 more damage before the super hits. The damage difference is small and is probably why Xiei said it doesn't matter much. What I'm saying is Lv.55 wont be the average level you'll be at during any kind of 2/3 match, so don't take the damage outputs in the video literally.
  18. You guys do realize he was Lv 55 for most of those combos right. On average Junpei only gets about 20+ bases throughout a match. A bit more than that if he lost a round. In the average setting, these combos will be doing hundreds of damage less than what was shown in the video. He would have to keep reloading sparring mode to simulate that so it's understandable why almost all of them are Lv 55. But the combos were still good.

  21. That's not cute. It was at first but they're constantly doing it now. And it's freaking annoying. Hinting or teasing the console announcement/arcade update just for them not to. I can understand them being busy with Dengeki or needing to be tight lipped but really, what are they doing. Both Xrd and Ultimax are coming some time in 2014 and 2014 is already nearing the end of it's first quarter. The longer the bigger chance they have directly competing with the two aforementioned games and the lower the sales will be. Releasing UNiB around now after CP has been out for a couple months and before Xrd and Ultimax comes out would be good. Japan doesn't go crazy for console update, but having UNiB release around the same time window as the two other fighters WILL NOT help it's sales in the least. They've kept us on the edge for way too long. I'll still buy the game when it comes out. But my hype for it has dropped drastically. What happened at the recent tourney just left a horrible taste in my mouth But thanks for the translation Sourenga, I was about to post in here asking if any new news popped up
