Surprisingly though, I ad libbed the other day against a Relius in the corner by not finishing a set of j.Cs which would normally be followed by a Hirentotsu, and was able to jump as he air teched and throw him, taking the round. Of course stuff like this seem a lot stronger and consistent in CP, since I could easily get hit by j.A as he was keeping up the mash in order to tech. CP ones seem a lot safer and offer more variety.

http://youtu.be/6b1vlD7KIVU?t=6m21s Nothing special, but sexy as hell. Ending combos with low j.Cs instead of Hiren seems to offer plenty of setups, which is always nice

Incidentally, I've been messing around with FC 2C again today, and came up with a combo that's pretty solid on all aspects; damage, meter gain, viability; FC 2C > 6B > 66 5C > (2C) > j.2C > j.C > 66 5C > Sekkajin > 66C > 2D > j.2C > j.C > 66 5B > 5C > 3C > Musou C (3627 dmg, 59!!!!!! meter) It's better than all of the FC 2C > 6B combos in the OP, and it's pretty easy unless you're playing against Platinum and the likes. 6B also increases its ease and viability since it's piss easy to confirm. 5C > 2C > j.2C doesn't seem to work on all characters, or it's just a lot harder, didn't bother much with it. You can omit the 2C for a little less damage and meter.

Ugh, yeah, I was wondering about that. Didn't Aksys say that there won't be any dlc characters a while back? I'm confused
-
lol not only they just "added" a coat to Hazama's idle sprite to get Terumi's one, they also had to recycle his story art. No big deal though, he looks hype as hell, inb4 he permanently removes his hood in OD

2D > [j.2C > j.C] x2 > 66 5B works even off 5B > 5C > Sekka lol, it's just pretty strict due to hitstun deterioration and it's harder against certain characters. Going for that double j.2C > j.C works off many starters and combo paths, but it often replaces Sekka > 6C > Musou C which does less damage but has superior corner carry, so I usually go for Sekka. Off starter > Sekka I usually opt for the iad combos though since I believe this path is the best choice all around; has both carry and damage, and looks sexy as fuck.

Yes, but while maintaining Sekkajin as a filler if possible. I know you can definitely omit Sekka and use it strictly as an ender after a freeze, but those paths sacrifice lots of damage. In other words, I'd like to know if we can use at least 2 out of our 3 main meterless fillers (Musou, Sekka and Rehhyou) and still be able to go for freeze > land > normals > sekka. The combo I wrote is just something that seems possible off decent starters. You can also try out 6C > 6B > Hizangeki combos to tell us how badass it feels to actually do it.
-
Can you also try something like this in the corner? Some... good starter that's not 6C or a CH (like 5B > 5C ?) > 3C > Musou > (5B) > 5C > Sekka > (5B) > 5C > (2C) > [sj.2C > j.D] or simply sj.D > (iad j.2C > j.C) > 66 5B > (3C) > Sekka And if it doesn't work, maybe you could try it off a crouching confirm into 6C > Musou > 5C instead of the 3C path. The parentheses are obviously for possible alternatives since I don't know how exactly it might work, but I ultimately want to know if there are ways to go for good damage AND oki, which means no Hizansen path. I know it's probably gonna be hard especially if there's no training mode there, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Be sure to report back on your findings, even if it's just how Jin feels!

I see many people doing combo > 6D / 5D freeze > CT "reset" and it works some times. I don't really understand why the chances of it working with this setup would increase, but they seem to somehow do.

Does netplay keep blowing up today or it's just me? I just checked the player rooms after the latest kick and there were very, very few.

^That's what I was going to ask; if they don't feature it during Sony's conference, will it be streamed somewhere?

Kutabare means "die" in a vulgar way, or something within those lines. I wouldn't look too deep into it though, it's a swear word that could be used as the Japanese equivalent of "fuck you". The way he says it makes it even more vulgar, pretty much like everything he says when he's in Terumi mode.

236B > no dash 5B > 6A works on Hazama in the corner IIRC

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
Putin replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
We've already seen the other character, it's the wind user. Her name slips me. Chaos looks like a stand character, but the little gameplay footage they showed us showcased no stand moves to verify his playstyle. He was just getting stomped on. -
I have countless favourites, so I'll try to curtail them using just my mains; Hazama: -Ossan, asonde yaru yo! Dou yo? Kuseni nandarou? (Mizuchi vs Valk) -Kore ga chain combo, nanchatte! (After long/strong combos) -Kimattara korya, hyaha! (^ using his third voice track) -Sunao ni nare ya... (Gasaishou on third track again) -Ouroboros, futtobe! (Jakou, third track) -Jayoku... HOUTENJIN! (CP version) -Tekagen mo tsukareru wa! (After... combos against Valk in CP, probably Ragna too) -Owarase masu yo / Kore kara honban desu yo / KUTABARI NA! (All 3 OD quotes) -Are? Yowaku na chaimashita?! (round victory vs Haku) -Sentou wa senmongai nandesu kedo ne... (match victory) -NYAHAHAHAHAHA! AO WO TE NI IRETA ZO! SAA, ORE WO TOMETE MIRO, MAASTA UNITO, AMATERASU! (CS arcade ending) -*laugh* Utage no hajimari da! Saa... Agake! Kurushime! Koroshiae! Motto buzama ni odotte misero! Temera no sono mijime na uta de... Nemesis Horizon ga hirakareru! HUEHUEHUEHUHEUHUE- (CP trailer) Jin: -NOERU. VAAMIRION! (Touga vs Noel) -Omae wa nisugite iru! (Hiyoku vs Noel in CT) -Kiero kono shougai... Kisama wa, nannan da? (Hiyoku vs Noel in CS) -BOKU WO IRATSUKASERUNA! (Burst vs Noel in CS) -Owari da yo... NII-SAN! Kono shunkan wo matte dayo... (Hiyoku vs Ragna) -Tsuranuku! (Crush trigger) -HIZANGEKI Plus, certain sounds let out by Jin, various hilarious sounds and comments by Hazama when he gets hit, and most stuff by Azrael. I also came across this again, which is pretty awesome and shows how much work Kakihara put into depicting Jin.

Hizansen looks pretty bad imo even in the corner, unless the opponent is super respectful and lets you IAD on them for free. Its only strong point from my point of view is the extra damage. Musou (no followup) is probably as strong as EX Musou A, but SMP won't let you use it twice, effectively removing it as a filler from your corner combos. Sekka on the other hand, looks just as strong minus the crossunders, and works just fine as an ender if you use it twice in the same combo. It's nice that we have options, especially if you add Rehhyou ender despite people rarely using it. Mixing up combos both for fun and for different oki is gonna be awesome And I just realized that you were talking about midscreen lol. I'm probably using both Musou (no followup probably) and Sekka there, mixing them up again to have people guessing. Hizansen only when I don't want/need to deal with them at close range, or for the kill. It also seems like I'll be the only one using Sekka followup strictly for corner side swaps, need that meter for easy confirm > Tousshougeki > 4k and HIZANGEKI

Yes I know, it's just... awkward and adds to useless character specific bullshit. DP loops already required different timings for DP B on many characters anyway.
-
So, uh... http://youtu.be/rUb6MhHXU5A?t=9m33s We'll continue whiffing Rehhyou in combos against Relius, Valk, Rachel, Tager and the like? I sure hope Shirushi just picked him up too early after Musou ;-;
-
No, the nail is the Nox, not the gauntlets.
-
That makes sense, I'll try it out and see how it fares against my opponents' awkward way of thinking. I guess this is a fine example of the 3C thing working? Yumura kept getting hit by those 3Cs even after 2B or something. Which is weird, but yeah Also, how exactly can Relius punish delayed Jabaki? Led Ley through it > some doll normal?
-
You're probably referring to Scud's after-effect. It's pretty much an install which needs to hit the opponent, the aura lets you know for how long it is active.
-
Would you mind explaining this a little further? I keep seeing Hazamas just end their blockstrings with 3C > Jabaki, assuming that they don't want to take the "risk" of actually pressuring the opponent since there's chains and shit. But it still felt like a waste of a "block-confirm" exactly because our pressure may not last for days but it is pretty safe overall. I guess I'm missing something here.

Not really good at handling .gif quality/filesize ratio, but urge to avoid working on stuff is 2stronk: Probably someone can do it better than this, but I'll leave it here

Gasshou path seems to allow more j.C reps, which means superior corner carry. That's my guess on why they choose this path midscreen, now when it comes to the corner... I did notice that people keep turning back to Zaneiga in the corner lately, so I guess Gasshou is just... easier? It definitely eats up less time though since 6C is pretty slow, but I still want to believe that it remains optimal in terms of damage. I was really looking forward to Houtenjin combos using both specials, but the new combo system doesn't seem to cooperate. People just go for Zaneiga > crossunder 5C > 6C > 5C > 2C > Jakou > 5C > 2C > j.C mash, even off 5C > Houtenjin
