  1. I'm glad somebody else shares my feelings :x
  2. Wow... almost every characters avi ball got nerfed, but I feel this one hard. My sig doesn't even look cool anymore. This is depressing, even more so realizing that I actually care
  3. Haha yeah, I couldn't think of anything that would work, it would have to be easy to remove and put on. It seems like such a silly idea that it's better to just reinforce getting rid of the bad mental habit.
  4. j.C is cool as shit. If you pause it you'll notice he uses both knives. Fuck yeah, hirentotsu loops were lame after like a month. 5b > 3c > 214d~c > j.C x 15 ftw lolol
  5. It's a shame, I don't think there's any way to unmap the start button, although you could try and put some sort of object on your controller, you're just pressing the wrong button and you need to keep reminding yourself to not do that. IAD input is either 966 or 9(5)6, on stick you return it to neutral, also try 9(5)9. Defense comes with time, just be patient and learn to wait it out, try recording strings in training mode and instant blocking. Learn everyone's overhead animations so you'll know when to block high, and most of the time you want to block high if you see them leave the ground. Just not against Kanji. http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Notation www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Strategies
  6. The thing about Hazama's chains is that they are basically an endless source of zoning and movement possibilities. Everything is situational in this game so generally you want to try and come up with as many ways to maneuver around as possible to get to where you want to be. Just because something works in one way once or a few times doesn't mean it will always work like that. Also we don't want to give up our hard learned secrets fo' free :3 but from what you listed it sounds to me like you're on the right track. Although for escapes I prefer [2d~d > j8d~d] but in some matchups like Rachel or Valk you should probably take both ways into consideration. Honestly the more you play, the more you mess around with chains, the better you get at them and it just becomes completely natural. Using the momentum to give you a nasty spacing advantage comes with time and experience. One thing that I really like as Hazama is how you can air throw someone no matter where they are if you use your chain pull and throw cancel at the right distance. Command grab is great as mix-up but zaneiga not so much. Once you get them blocking high or hitting you out of ressenga that's when you start to throw out the occasional zaneiga. Command grab opens up a strict defense and it has grab invul so it beats throws. You can go into command throw whenever you hit them with ressenga crouching, you will see the (red?) exclamation mark when it hits overhead. Command grab and the d~B are not used nearly enough by most Hazama's if you ask me.
  7. As far as Jakou after Jayoku, you can generally only dash 3c [214d~a] or [236d] unless you have cornered them. A basic zaneiga combo would be as you said. 214d~c > (66)6c > 66 5c > j5c x 5 > dash 2c > hirentotsu > dash 5c > 2c > hirentotsu You don't have to go the hirentotsu route, you can go into j5c again after 2c, or do 4d > j.b > j5c x 2 > jc > j5c x 5 > hirentotsu
  8. Welp, posting. PSN is to the left. I suck. For now I'm just playing a terrible Slayer. Bare with me as I get used to playing on stick :v
  9. Buppa is definitely one of the most well known players and I enjoy rooting for him all while having a solid, respected player repping my favorite character. Buppa as anyone else except perhaps Jin is slightly sadface for me. Sadeyo it's cool dude, I was just making a funny. Not trying to correct you or anything haha Oh yeah, I totally missed the damn stream. Sounds like fun had. We got links?
  10. I mean, maybe I didn't play enough story mode or invest enough time into it, but I figured Susano'o was Hakumen right? The armor that Hazama used to have?
  11. So Hazama = Jin = Hakumen? No, I don't think so... that's silly :v
  12. Yeah Buppa gets around the character select screen. He was a pretty badass and influential Hazama player when nobody/few knew how to play him. I'm glad he's back to the hat. Although I'm a Noel hater lol, noty. I'm hoping he sticks around in this one. His original main is actually Ky btw. We might still get dat Turq, who knows. Maybe a different Lupin color scheme is in the works, or maybe it'll be a DLC or something. It was one of the best colors while it was around though. I actually think C and D were the most overused colors, back when netplay had lots of players. They just look damn good, it's no wonder people flock towards them. They clearly already have good taste in their character pick :3
  13. That combo is fucking hype and so is the palette.
  14. As far as we know, Lupin the Turquoise is gone. Pretty sure I saw the yellow/black as one of the first 6 colors tho.
  15. Yes, it's going to be overused, and overkilled by noobs. Yes, I will get shit for using it from Guymam. However, I will still use it, occasionally. I've always had this problem with Hazama, way too many fucking good colors. I can't just pick one.
  16. So, it seems like sanwa has infiltrated ASW ranks, as well as dustloop. Bullet players and arcade cabinets everywhere, beware... your sticks are fucked
  17. Dude, I know the feeling exactly. Dashing left specifically or just dashing whenever I really needed to finish a combo used to absolutely wreck my shit. It's a well documented problem for beginners haha. IAD is pretty easy, the input is something like 9 5 6. Tricky but not really hard. Dashing is just grinding it out. I mean, I won't say I'm perfect yet but instead of 20% success it's more like 70%, but I don't practice enough, lol. So you don't want to be tense, you want to be the opposite. Calm, collected, and relaxed - not only will you make better decisions but it helps your execution and muscles flow better. Just play matches, forget about training mode, come back to it when you want. Getting your ass kicked enough will toughen you up lol. While you're still in this phase keep with the -playing to learn- motto and forget about winning. Not to discount training mode, the more time you train the better, so long as you're doing it right. Your BB buttons are all off... now it's not really a big deal unless you ever want to go to Japan and play in their arcades. Some people can consider this but some can't, so it depends on your situation. The only two ways on cabinet are BCD/A or ABC/D with three on top and one on the bottom to the left. I play with the second because of my pad habits and specifically because of Hazama's drive so I can kind of understand where you're coming from. Don't discount the pinky, especially if you ever want to play Guilty Gear or AH3 - dat 5th button. tl;dr it's going to suck for awhile but you'll get over it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsME37GrqjY this if you haven't seen it yet.
  18. Literally moved from the front of the character subforums to the way back. lol
  19. IMO learning the frame data for your own character is good even at low level. If you're a noob you would not understand why you shouldn't be mashing 5c on wakeup - but if you've ever played an ASW game that probably sounds hilarious. I had no idea how few active frames most moves have until I looked. It teaches you to get into the more technical aspects, and understanding how plus/minus frames work. Just FYI there is a comprehensive frame data chart for every character on the wiki.
  20. Removed the ugly and outdated pro/cons list, cleaned up some fluff, and rewrote the intro. Like 2 or 3 other small changes that don't matter too much, this will probably be my last revision until this guide becomes obsolete and I re-do it for BBCP. I'm overall happy with it now, and I hope it has helped. Mark u b crzy.
  21. So PSN release tomorrow? Do they update the store at midnight? How exciting. Edit: Japanese PSN store only, or....?
  22. I get more proficient almost every time I come back to BB... but I'm still nowhere near where I'd like to be, though. I started to notice myself getting better every few months via netplay, and I'd rewatch my old matches and think "wow, this is just awful" lol. I'm at the point where I understand the game and the mechanics well enough that the only thing stopping me is being bored of BB/general laziness. For GG, I slowly started to get better with Slayer after playing a lot of maniac arcade mode and offline casuals whenever I can, but I feel I'm pretty bad at it still. Looking to remedy that soon though esp. now that I can play on ps3 + stick. It took me a few weeks to really grasp P4 but I'm still far from great at that. IMO, no matter the game or the character, "proficiency" is a never ending battle, for what works now might not work forever.
  23. Guilty Gear owns the shit out of BB. Everything from the character design to the music to the sound effects... As someone who started on Guilty I'd say P4 is my least favorite of the 3, personally. They're all varying degrees of great, though. I'm so hype for this. I really hope they make the Ps3 netcode decent, or if not, they don't screw us over during the patch.
  24. This guy is fucking awesome, watching him really reminds me of why I love this character so much. People who are still learning, be more like that guy.
