Guilty Gear is really fun tbqh. I definitely prefer the GG cast and art over BB and usually have a better time playing GG casuals than playing BB. Not that your GG complaints aren't valid and hilarious, just that GG is still good despite it's flaws. Much like BB and pretty much any fighting game - there are problems here and there but in the end the game is still fun. It's the nature of the beast and it comes with the territory, fighting games just have stupid shit. Even P4U is going to have some dumb shit, just watch. I'm kinda scared of not having FD/barrier in an Arc game personally. I also hate the button layout. Anybody know if the actual Persona cabinets only have 4 buttons? I was hoping I could play with a BlazBlue layout but I don't want to re-learn the schematics if I ever end up playing in Japan. Congrats to our new mods and shoutouts to having mods who still play BB and our character.

Just my 2 cents in regards to blocking and defense in BB: Always block high when they're air dashing at you or attacking from the air. Learn what every character has for standing overheads and what they can use to gatling into them. If you just block low and they run up to you they might be trying to progamer overhead (i.e Ragna, Plat, and Makoto's 6b) so be ready to switch. It's more of guessing right than your reaction time. Teching throws is actually very possible in BB. The throw reject system is really weird in that they want you to react to being thrown and not just mash B+C. Pretty stupid but as long as you realize that throws only happen in specific situations you should be able to tech at least 50% of them. Air throws are so good, too, but if you play smart then you can just tech their attempts to throw you out of an air attack. The other thing is learning to block the air unblockables and know when to use your barrier. Whenever you see the light blue exclamation mark after you get hit that means that you tried to block an air unblockable without barrier and now you eat a combo. Barrier also has extra pushback now so it's invaluable in certain situations. If you can learn how to IB and properly burst then you'll have another leg up on defense. A lot of people don't even know how to dead angle/counter assault: it's just 6A+B.

CT netplay in 2012, eh Jourdal? Good to know someone else likes playing CT still. Brings me back to the good old days... Especially playing Jin, oh man. I literally had no clue about what I was doing but still won almost half my matches with random scrubby mashiness. So much fun. Haha... netplay.

[CSE] Hazama Combo Guide and Combo Discussion Thread
Shazam replied to MetalMaelstrom's topic in Archive
5c(1) > 236236b > 66666666 > 623d > 5a+b+c > 66 > 214d~c > 6c > SLICE AND DICE Please note that this hasn't been tested on anyone and probably won't work at all. Maybe an actual one would involve the side switch 6c into 623d but yeah, I don't really see this happening or ever actually being practical. -
So basically you're asking us to post the best movement options that Hazama has against Rachel? 5dd, 6dd, j4dd dash, 4dd j4d(confirm or react), it doesnt really matter, its dependent on your placement and I move entirely according to what you are doing, or where you are. Here's a good one - j6db j6d. I like using the db to avoid lobelias sometimes. I know this might be stupid to say but the farther the chains are extended the lower Hazama's momentum will be and higher for short chains, watch out for air throw/j.a whiffs of course. for Hazamas: throw or command grab beats cat chair lolol

Where there is anime, there will be BB. Make it happen if you have to, Lich. We still have at least a month or two before we get the two big BB killers anyway. At that point the people will be hype and holding events for them, just get a few BB setups going on the side. You'll be fine. Hazama's the biggest reason I still love BB so much, he's just fucking awesome. He's always been my favorite character by far, in terms of design and personality. Lots of freedom with movement, zoning, and blockstrings, plus a godlike command grab. I'd eventually like to see a complete Terumi form with a similar play style. Until then i'll continue to main Hazama with pride and eventually learn how to Just want to say a quick props to all the Hazama players, who have stuck through the hard times, starting out at low tier to shooting up near the top of the list in CS1, being stupid easy broken in CS2, and finally being somewhat balanced. Who am I kidding, this character has always been broken. In the best way possible though. Keep it green fellas.

MORE SMUG THAN A PREGNANT WOMAN. Glorious 9th place pride! Land of the free! Honestly though, that was a pretty hype mash match. Really fun, glad I entered this time. ^_^ ALMOST MADE TOP 8. Fuck, soooooo close. xD Thanks to everyone for supporting BB/MB, and special thanks to the organizers. Sorry I had to miss dinner haha. See y'all at west toast. <3

I haven't played against a good Carl in Extend but in CS2 the matchup was basically run away and zone a lot, don't get sandwiched, and watch out for Nirvana. I like to beat up Nirvana but not too much. Carl's limited mobility can make it really hard to get to you in this match if you play right, just watch out for the doll's drill punch and anti airs, the doll has quite a few and Carl's 6A is very fast. Again, don't get sandwiched. Much like Hazama, Carl has a great airdash for crossups. Carl has an infinite. Try to mash jayoku to get out of it. Listen to Guymam, the fact that Carl can control Nirvana while bursting is important.

Are the hitboxes ever coming back?

More like unless you're way too high to get hit by an air unblockable, or if you want to escape an air throw. It's better to barrier block an air blockable 5a to be on the safe side most of the time - pretty sure the only char. with air unblockable 5a is Haku. The use of air unblockables is to try to stop jump outs during pressure and it's very important in GG, and a relatively new aspect of BB (CS2 introduced most normals being air unblockable). Manta was trying to say moves like Hotaru, or Inferno Divider, even if your opponent is airborne already, you have to barrier them because they are still air unblockable.

I still don't have the loop down properly. Especially past 3 reps or a single dash. I still have fun as Hazama, and as long as he is playable I will main him. His drive is the most interesting and versatile to me. Honestly, it has been said that he is an autopilot character and many will agree with that. Maybe you're all getting bored of free wins or maybe it's just netplay. I dunno. There are plenty of other characters in BB if you really are tired of him. Better yet, you should go brush up on GGAC.

This is a common mistake people make when switching to a new game, looking for a character similar to what they're used to. It's better to adjust to the system accordingly and see how different match ups work so you can pick someone to properly suit your needs. SC and BB play way too differently to compare characters like Talim and Nightmare to Makoto and Hakumen. Then again, I don't play a lot of SC anymore. Dizzy and Mu are really similar though. Zappa doesn't really have a BB counterpart, although Carl and Relius are great characters and lots of fun if you can get used to their unique movesets. Seeing as you have a Hazama avatar I say you should go with him. He's kind of like a zoning/mobility heavy Slayer, imo. Since you already have a good understanding of 2D fighters (you play Guilty Gear) then a character with Hazama's execution and movement shouldn't take too long to get used to. Valkenhayn is also influenced by Slayer with more traditional rushdown but I like Hazama more. Have fun

http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12053-Hazama-Chain-Zoning-Guide-*Work-in-progress* Check out this thread for some tips. He's not an easy character to play as but you'll develop a style with him over time, and his combos are not all that hard after a bit of practice. Look up pro Japanese Hazamas, my two favorites are Mitsurugi and Noze. There's a lot to learn but to start you need to focus on your drive, movements and how to zone. Read around the forums, there's a lot of info and old posts to help get you started.

Nintendo isn't family friendly though, Nintendo is kiddy friendly and soccer mom friendly. They've forgotten about the young adults who can buy M+ games and want something a little more fast paced. Plus nobody says that little kids/soccer moms can't play fighting games at a competitive level, lol. Yeah i'm sad too. Also mad. At least we have the glorious wonders of Ye olde Blaz to turn to.
