  1. Looking for WC players to add, also to play BB! I'd like to play some more BB or Persona tonight so hit me up! Edit: Shoutouts to FKUDelta and GG's!
  2. Looking for west coast players specifically but anyone is good really. If anyone's on right now hit me up, or shoot me a friend request on PSN if you want.

  4. Everybody in my first post has excellent mixup. You could also try Makoto, she has a fast run and pure rushdown style. Ragna has really good mixup in CSX actually. Literally every one of those characters that have high mobility have strong rushdown games as well so you can't really go wrong, just play whoever is your favorite or is the most fun. Watch high level play of these characters to help you decide if you need.
  5. Now that I think about it Tao is basically the pixie of BB, never realized that before. Low health, insane movement, great pressure. I still say Bang is the closest thing to Yosuke in BB - but there are similar traits Yosuke and Tao share due to them both being pixies.
  6. It depends on what kind of speed you're after. Hazama has ridiculously quick mobility but it's a unique kind of mobility and he doesn't have a normal run. Valkenhayn and Tao are similar in that regard but Tao can run. You might want to try Bang as he is similar to Yosuke. Other honorable mentions would be Platinum and... Rachel I guess?
  7. EC flying in? Drinking? Mystery games?! I'm there!
  8. Now that I think about it flying around against Tao tends to get me blown up faster than trying to stay grounded. You should do those matchup threads! As much as I love Kanji and have fun playing him, I just have to switch to a more viable character. I don't have that tough grappler skin, and I like to be able to move around a lot. Luckily there are a few other characters I like - Yosuke and Akihiko particularly. I'm still digging Persona a lot. Though I finally got a chance to play a bit of BB casuals and it reminded me of how much fun it is, and GG is da best. So I will continue playing all three can't wait for PSN GGAC.
  9. Using flash kick is so much fun against local Tao's. They definitely know how to bait anti-airs though, it's a fun game. I use 214d~d more often than ~b because if they stop their drive and make the read they get a huge punish. I think chains/sporadic movement is a bigger help in this matchup than strong anti-airs but they definitely work if you use them right.
  10. We have like 3 or 4 good Tao's in SoCal, she's gone from unplayed to somewhat popular. Personally I think Hazama is a character that actually has the tools he needs to deal with her, as she's a pretty frustrating opponent regardless of who you play :x
  11. -Hotenjin p1 is awful since CS2 -Command grab had strike invul in CS2 -Chains don't have enough hitstop to confirm even a ch sometimes
  12. I think I saw hers, that's the one where she comes down with both feet right? That would be pretty cool. Speaking of UniB, I'm probably going to be playing Seth and Gordeau. So much awesome. I share those wishes as well, I'd also like j214b to hit overhead. Chains are pretty good for me in Extend, I heard that it's a lot easier to confirm chain hits in CP. If Hazama had 3c jc there would be no stopping him.
  13. I like Guymam's ideas. Some of them are not unreasonable imo. I really like the green shit puddle. Let's trade jabaki for something like that, and give us an EX version too. What if we got a move where, while in the air, we stop for a second and then fall down with a kick? What if this move also happened to hit overhead? Like a j2b or something. Just sayin'. It might be interesting.
  14. I personally think we need jc on -6b -all stance moves -hotenjin Sound good? Maybe 2b as well. (Psssst, this post was just to say chains section was re-redone in my guide )
  15. Chains section is much better... it still feels lacking to me, I don't know if I can satisfy myself with this, second update is finished. It's good for now. I was thinking of adding a BnB/basic hit confirm chart. I'll probably do that later. I might need someone's help for loop combos though, I'm still not sure how/when to confirm those. I don't want to go too in depth, just a place for people to start.
  16. I was just trying out that silly 5c > 5d~c stuff. Maybe they'll make ~c faster and it'll be legit lol. 5b and 5c losing jc is my biggest wtf. After thinking about all of the possibilities with jasetsu rolls, I've decided to stick around no matter what. I might pick up a legit sub though, which I've never really done in BB. Azrael maybe? They just want us to use 2c for crossups more because 2c > iad > j.2c looks so damn cool.
  17. God, yes he does. I will likely import this too because this game looks amazing and I want to import something/show support. Seth all day though :x
  18. Yeah, I still haven't played BB at all since P4A came out. I'm hella rusty but I have the game in my machine right now waiting for me to get cracking on my chains guide. I wish I could still netplay D: so don't worry guys, I think it's just how this character works, you really have to stay devoted as I've mentioned. I try to stay as dedicated as possible but I still get blown up >_< For footage, I really don't know how that all works. You probably need like a capture device or something, or you could set up a stream and record it - no idea how to do this myself, you'll need some equipment. Sales, bring the stick back to neutral before pressing a button! For primers... block less? Lol, no, but try not to get in a situation where you have to block Just hit up that training mode more and try to get back into the feel of Haz. You'll be back to normal in no time. I'll get a chance to play BB again at the arcade this weekend, I'm excited! Maybe this time I won't go home wanting to kill myself for being so free.
  19. In SoCal we have me, Guymam, and AcidAce lol. That's.... all? I don't think I've ever met ZeroRaider or seen him at an event D: I can't even name a single NorCal Hazama (whiteboywilly lol but he switched to kune IIRC) but I'm not too familiar with the NorCal guys tbh. A couple of people sub him but it's not the same. It's okay though, we have a really diverse group out here and there are even people who play Carl/Tao/Kune so we get lots of matchup experience. This character is even underplayed in Japan though honestly. The awesome radiating from his character icon and sprites is a bit too much for most people to handle. This goes to all of you though, anyone who loves this game and doesn't have a huge scene, you just have to work with what you have. It's definitely sad when there aren't a lot of people interested in your game but people have been dealing with this for years. I'm incredibly lucky to have an area with a decent scene and an arcade within driving distance. Even if you're not so lucky, just show as much support as possible towards what you have, try to recruit new players whenever possible, and keep it a friendly, tight-knit community. It's just working with what you've got. Some people are stuck with only netplay and no one to play offline, so be grateful. Trust me Gyokuran, America has the same problem where most people would rather play SF4/Marvel just because that's where the money's at. For me it's more about enjoying the game and having some fun with friends, not a way to make money (i'm free)
  20. As everyone said you seriously haven't spent enough time in training mode. Picking a different character isn't the problem, character love and dedication is much more important in this kind of game. If you like Naoto, play Naoto. You just have the wrong mind set about combos, especially during the match. The hard part is supposed to be getting the first hit in, not the combo itself. You should spend more time in the lab and practicing combos that have already been discovered and be completely familiarized with your character - to the point of making the right confirms off of every hit, knowing what you can confirm into big damage and stuff like that. You don't need to spend too much time, but the more time you put into it the better the result of course. At least put in a good 30 minutes to an hour before you do an online session, with all that practice you won't 'blank out' quite as much.
  21. >:3 It's comments like this that keep me playing this game. Hazama is so much fun~ Come join the dark side, iora. Haz da bess. @earlier: I definitely don't pick characters based on their tier status, I mean I do play Kanji in P4A... I picked Hazama before I even knew he was playable lol. As soon as I saw his design in CT I was in love. Of course one of his first lines is, "I'm not much for fighting" so I was really hype when I found out he was already a playable character in CS. Then I saw 5c for the first time and that was it. I didn't even think he was that good at first, but I stuck with him and eventually became a netplay beast w/ those chains. For me the most important thing in any fighter is actually "Does my main look badass?" Haz is by far a yes. @later: You'll have to rep him twice as hard then! Become the best and troll all the other players :D
  22. It's not that I would mind him being low tier, that's not quite the issue. I just don't like his rushdown (and chains?!) being nerfed D: I remember early CS1 tier lists claiming him as low. He ended up being the best behind the top 2 (Litchi and Bang) Though a lot of characters are seeing similar nerfs. Guymam is boss tho, no jokes. I saw dude get 5th in a Persona tourney when he couldn't even play training mode. FFFFFF. Best SoCal Yosuke without a way to play the game, what. So there's definitely a long way to go before final judgement. It seems like they want to completely re-do Haz' combo style. As long as we end up okay damage-wise and mix-ups (5b and 5c wry) still good then I'll be alright. If they do nerf chain speed though, it's just like, why would you even make them fast to begin with D< Lots of things that I don't agree with but time will tell! Apologies for the saltiness, just want more Hazama players and not less. So I ended up too busy to do my chains mode. I'll get at that soon though, don't worry my chain scrubs.
  23. If Hazama ends up being shit I probably won't pick up the next BB... I've realized I don't actually like BB that much outside of playing Hazama so I might just get into GG instead, and then there's also Persona. It's way too early to tell though tbh, hopefully some of these changes are just trolling There's also the fact that as we get closer to release the hype train gets louder and louder... and I could always switch from fedora to top hat... not that I want to ;_; The only good changes we've seen are the new DD, overdrive which everyone has, and the stance dash. I believe I mentioned that the chains look slower in the test footage which would bug the hell out of me. There are already so few Hazama players, does Arc really want all 10 of us to just drop him? Anyways after all of this nerf sadness I'm going to spend some time in the lab and completely re-do the chains section in my beginner guide, which has always felt lackluster to me. Should be up later today. It'll be a long time 'til we see BBCP so yeah.
  24. I was going to show up a little after 5pm due to work, now it looks like I can still enter. Awesome!
