  1. Outside of range issues, wouldn't a 5B CH starter be better than a 3C one? You can go into 3C anyway, but with a 100 P1 starter while abusing 3C's good P2. I have a hard time punishing stuff with 5C. It just feels inconsistent. If I try to go for Gustaf I often find myself out of range for 5A. Same if I go for 6C. Overall though, when I CAN, I always go for 3D since it is a great starter. You can do stuff like 6A>IAD J.A, or just the usual aerial into J.2D, or whatever. Just plain great, specially with it having better P1 than most D starters.
  2. (MOD EDIT: Context, DP punish combos) Personally I like 3D CH punish combos the most, but that is just me.
  3. lol same, I can't TK that shit properly to save my life. They always fall behind me even though I TK it by jumping backwards(Obviously I do it until I get it right when confirming combo optimization such as in this case though). It's either distance specific(which I'm sure it is at least in certain cases) or I suck at this.
  4. You can get more damage off of the Throw>CT combo if you add a 3C before 22C and replace 5C with 2C. Tested on Bullet since she is my personal punching bag so idk if char specific, but the issue I had if I was using 5C was lack of untechable time so doubt it. You can also add a 5C after 5B after HF on the 5B>5C>6C crouching mid-screen combo for extra damage. You can get EVEN more damage AND life steal if you TK a blood scythe after the GH and skip the 5D(2). If you add a 2C before the second 5C at the 2B corner combo, you can get almost 100 extra damage. Didn't try to optimize the other ones.
  5. The thing with picking characters IMO is that you will do better with the character who has the highest ratio of fitting your playstyle and having powerful tools, but making sure they fit your playstyle comes first. For example, if you feel at home with Hakumen but can't get used to Bang at all, then you will do better with a low tier Hakumen than a top tier Bang. However, if you feel 'ok' with Ragna who (in theory) would be above Hakumen, but slightly below Bang, then you might end up doing better with Ragna since he has a higher ratio of fitting your playstyle and having powerful tools. That being said, even in such cases I still believe people should go for the character they ENJOY using the most, and I mean that in the literal way. Even if you lose with that character, if you enjoy using them, it's worth it. There is no point in winning if you didn't enjoy the match. This also goes for matchups to some extend, because sometimes even if you do win a terrible matchup, the match itself could have been so 'lame' that you had no fun at all, and thus there was little reward in it other than the learning experience(which is by itself a great thing but the top priority with any game is to enjoy playing it). I mean, look at me. I picked up CS1 not too long after it came out for the consoles and started with Bang. Loved the character but sucked at fighters so it took me until the end of CS2 to actually know what I was doing(kind of). By that point however I was already 'developing' my own playstyle, my fundamentals, and how I deal with situations, the tools I would like having and those I would not mind not having, etc etc. After that, I picked up Ragna, whose legendary 5B was about 70% of the things I wanted in my list. ID was 20%. However, the other 10% were not there, aka some form of anti-zoning measure. Comes CP, Azrael is a thing. Azrael's neutral tools are SURPRISINGLY decent, although he has no jesus kick. He has good defensive options, high HP, and is not necessarily slow. Most important, he has a form of anti-zoning measure, but not in the sense it lets him 'break' through zoning, but just outright give less fucks about it than most characters. He is a combination of everything I feel comfortable with in a character, which I never thought I would find in a fighter but there you go, Azrael happened. I enjoy matches even if I lose them, so I consider each CP session a success BECAUSE it was fun. Now, not everyone is going to have this luck. Sometimes you need to dig up really hard to find a character in a fighter that really 'clicks' on you like Azrael did to me. Sometimes you're gonna end up with a character that you 'just' feel comfortable with instead, rather than outright being you in game form. That is fine so long you enjoy using that character, but rarely will you enjoy using a character you don't feel comfortable with. I don't know where I am going with this anymore, but I just want to say that so long you are comfortable with the character you are using and enjoying your matches, then improvements are going to be natural, and you will enjoy even the losses. The game will be fun, and that is the important part. Everything else is secondary. Unless you're playing against Noel, because that shit is never fun.
  6. 5B>5C>Jc>J.A>J.C>J.D>Dash 5B>5C>6A>214B>214D>6A>J.214D>Dash 5B>5C>5D(2)>214A>214D Requires: - Damage: 3073 Heat Gain: 22 Notes: Tager only Slightly better, but not any more practical version of the Tager only from mid-screen. Mid-screen in this case being from one corner to the other. From P1 starting position we can get a lot more out of this. It might be worth noting that you can do this combo by doing 5B>5C>Delayed J.C>Delayed J.D>Dash 5A instead(Same for the one listed for about 2 reps of the loop), and doing so will up the damage by almost 100 at the cost of much harder execution. I don't know why I bothered with this tbh because nobody ever uses Tager only combos like this.
  7. lmao this is almost sig worthy. I have been trying to find good setups to buffer the 720A, but alas, the only one I can find are off of safe jump J.Cs and the scumbag method mentioned that consists of J.D>720>Landing and pressing A. Nothing really consistent like super scumbag 720 off of a 2B whiff like Tager does. I probably shouldn't bother trying to learn how to do 720s at the moment, though. I literally just picked up Bullet and am trying to get the hang of her. Can't get used to the fact that if I stagger strings then nothing will end up comboing if it does hit, but if I don't stagger than frame trapping is just so much harder, although 5C is a cool guy.
  8. Fucking typos lol. Sorry about that. Fixing it ASAP.
  9. My love for you is like a truck, OP.
  10. Sounds like a good idea lol. I don't even bother reading the OP for the most part since most of the combos are outdated as hell. I digged up some combos after wasting about 30 minutes on training mode but I don't know how optimal they are. All tested on Bullet, so changes may be required. 5B>5C>2D>RC>5C>5D(1)>214A>(Delay)5B>5C>jc>J.C>jc>J.C>J.214C>Dash 5C>5D(2)>22C>236D>623D Ender Requires: 50 Heat Damage: 4662 heat Gain: 20\-30 Lifesteal: -- 5B>5C>214A>RC>6C>214B~214D>6A>J.214D>5B>5C>SJC>J.C>J.D>J.214C>5D(2)>623D Ender Requires: 50 Heat Damage: 3619 Heat Gain: 17\-33 Lifesteal: -- 623C>236C>236C>3C>22C>236D>DC>3C>214A>214D Requires: Close to corner Damage: 2515 Heat Gain: 17 Lifesteal: -- 5B>5C>OD>5C>2D>DC>623D>236C>214D>J.D>J.214B~214D>214214D Requires: 50% Health, 50% Heat Damage: 5357 Heat Gain: 27\-23 Lifesteal: --
  11. Same lol. Would have been EVEN MORE amazing. So fucking hype for this.
  12. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know about that.
  13. Sorry if this is not the right place, but GVG, would you still happen to have that old Azrael theme you did before the actual song got released(as in, before CP's release)? I forgot the name, but I've noticed you had to remove from your channel some time ago and never ended up re-uploading it. Asking here because it's technically OST, even if fanmade, but at the same time that means there is no problem posting it here, I think.
  14. This...ALMOST sounds like it was intended specifically for the trophy, or the other way around.
  15. Actually you should speed it up. You're doing it too early. Basically you have to input TK J.214D ASAP after 6A's hitstop is over, because otherwise you get a random J.D to the moon instead(unless your execution is top notch). I mean, sure, being the first white haired MC to reach the moon through super jumping alone would be amazing, but that is not what we're aiming for here.
  16. Oh man people are gonna have a field day with dummy Azrael. That guy just keeps getting more memetic with each passing day.
  17. This is nightmare fuel straight out of my childhood. Loved RE3.
  18. lmao this character. Triple Orochi combos are hilarious, regardless of how impractical they are. Sadly I don't think he is for me. I like how 5C(1)>jc>J.2D combos on crouching enemies, though. Might have some combo potential there since it's probably better than just raw 5C(2). Don't know if char specific(Was testing on Bullet since tits make up for a good punching bag), though.
  19. It works, I've got no idea what you're on about.
  20. I don't know the details myself, just going from what I heard and a pic or two. Kagura's 6D~C whiffs on her when she is crouching, and apparently Hazama's 6232146C(?) whiffs as well. Her crouching hitbox is clearly a broken mess because of that, but I don't know about her standing one.
  21. I don't have Kokonoe, but apparently her hitbox is super broken and a lot of shit that is universal doesn't work on her. Not just Azrael stuff, but crap like Kagura's 6D~C as well. That might explain why it didn't work.
  22. It's...complicated. The short version is that for the most part, it has to be a yomi Growler unless your reaction times are godlike. The long version is that due to Growler's INV frames during the startup, the sword will just go pass you. After those frames are over, the autoguard against projectiles(and thus, absorbing them) frames start. A projectile whiffing on you is bad, because it can either result in the Nu player running up to you and CHing you\starting pressure, or taking distance and blowing up any progress you did in getting close. However, certain projectiles can be Growler-ed on reaction since they're slow\have ass startup. As far the basic swords go though, it's gonna be terrible to do it on reaction.
  23. Not worth it because the difference in damage is insignificant in comparison to the much better knockdown we get off HF.
  24. You can Growler certain projectiles in order to scare the Nu from tossing swords at you, or actually punish her for doing so. Other than that it's really a question of patience and smart movements.
  25. It's an option, at least. It's not like they can just toss that out on every wakeup, specially because like mentioned, mashing jab beats it. Stupid INV frames on everything Noel has.
