I have been trying this guy out lately(lately being subjective since I've only played the game for about 2 days) and I agree his 5B's hitbox is the most disgusting thing. Thankfully, his 2B and 6B have just barely workable hitboxes. Only a masochist would try playing footsies with them, though. He feels really...clumsy to play? It's like all he can space with are Cs and the occasional D, and whiffing any of them is suicide. 6D~C did help a lot against zoners, though, and it seems to be fairly safe at max range due to the sheer pushback and distance it puts both chars between. I could be wrong, though. Overall I don't really know what to do with this guy yet. I had a bunch of matches yesterday and I am SLOWLY getting used to the nature of his attacks, but it's still gonna take some time to memorize everything and learn to stop trying to hit anything with 5B, because it won't hit anything no matter what I do.

Chrono Phantasma Story Discussion [fun tentatively allowed again]
Lucalibur replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
Clearly each story still has multiple paths, but characters do not have their own individual stories anymore. I still think that is a massive downgrade, but hey, we work with what we have. I like Azrael's scumbag shoulder pat, though lol. -
This pretty much sums up my opinion of the episode lol

Yeah! Fuck Lu! ...Wait...

I would totally give a palette inspired by my OCs to each char. ... Wait, we're suppose to be serious about this? I can't really think off the top of my head any characters I would base a color scheme around it, but I would probably give Azrael a badass color scheme for his clothes(probably similar to his black\red palette) while keeping his hair color realistic and simple, like black or brown. Would probably do something similar(only with different clothes coloring) for Ragna and call it a day. I had a lot of fun with KOF13's palette customization and would kill to see it in other fighters.

I actually tried those out earlier today after posting that. You can really extend his pressure and frame trap people with those, it's kind of scary actually. I haven't tested Main out yet but I don't think Reviel is a weaker version of him, only that he has more specialized tools. I think he has a lot of combo potential too, since a lot of his tools have some amazing untechable time going for them. They're not always accessible but it's still something worth noticing.
-
Ah, I see. So he seems to be a fundamental character with potentially good pressure but somewhat weak mixups. I had a hard time understanding each of his normals due to lack of frame data and not being able to understand the Japanese menu in training, so I probably missed out on a lot of stuff. I do remember his 214D(Flash kick thing I think?) prorating like a bitch, though. Any combo with it suddenly started doing minimum damage on everything.
-
Heeey, I tried this game out a while ago but stopped for whatever reason. It was a surprisingly fun little thing with a decent cast, but I never quite got how some mechanisms worked. The combo system seems pretty flexible in general, and the game's pace is pretty nice. I 'play' Reviel but I dislike saying I play a character when my skill level at a game is so damn low. Anyone else playing him that could give some tips or whatever? Since his wiki page is not being worked on it yet I'm kind of stuck on the whole 'figuring stuff out' department.

I don't think there is a right place for a thread like this to begin with. I'm not saying it should not be made, I'm just saying that from my experience there are no places related to fighting games that would accept a thread like this, or anything like it. Hell, he could be asking for help with designing the game on paper only and I still can't imagine a place where he could make a thread like this. As much this thread is a joke due to the OP's lack of experience with how this sort of thing works, I can't quite blame him for making the thread here, as there are no 'real' options and sometimes we just have to try our luck. P.S: I'm not arguing or anything nor replying to you\Furix in specific over this, just bringing up a point due to that specific part of the post.

GROWLER\HEHEHE has very pathetic untechable time on normal hit. Short enough that the enemy can air tech and air dash for free pressure, or in specific cases like Tao, actually CH Azrael out of the recovery. Its pretty stupid, really.

[CSE-CP] Jin Questions and Answers Thread - How Do I Shot Ice?
Lucalibur replied to Moy_X7's topic in Jin Kisaragi
5A, 2A, 5B, 5C, and 2C(hit only) can all be jump cancelled. You can combo into 6A off a 623B and still follow up as long the enemy was high enough into the air. It is actually a commonly used route off weak starters in the corner for extra meter gain and such. Depends on the starter. As long the combo is not over prorated you can probably end it with J.D>C ice car. For the most part air BnBs go for the basic J.C>J.2CX2>J.D. I suggest against using purple grabs unless you're trying to set something up. I would suggest against RCing as you can follow up the 623C with 5A\5B depending on the proration meterless. If you really wanna go that route, you can do practically anything off it, but 6C is probably your best bet. You can't get DPed out of combos as long you do them right, so I take you meant during pressure strings and such. Learn your enemy habits, bait stuff, and play safe with frame traps unless you make them respect you and stop mashing DP. You can jump cancel a lot of Jin's normals and air barrier block any DPs coming if you really think the enemy is gonna do it, but watch out if they got meter to RC. Anytime you wanna bait a anti-air while remaining safe or the enemy is rushing in recklessly. -
What impact has GG, BB, or P4A had on you in real life?
Lucalibur replied to Dark Ranger88's topic in Zepp Museum
Eh, why not? Guilty Gear was the first fighter I played, and while I button mashed until the end of days, it was fun. Made me notice how cool some designs could be and taught me how to appreciate art. By now I'm already playing it seriously. Blazblue was my first SERIOUS fighter. I did button mash at first as well, but after a while I said 'fuck it' and decided I wanted to get better. It was also the game that made me join a certain forum that over the years, helped me grow up and allowed me to meet people that I consider part of my family by this point. Obviously I also met my fair share of scumbags, both in and out of the community, but those are few far and between and not people we should think about. Shout outs to Dawn of Musou since he is one of said friends! P4A taught me you can mash as much DP you want as long you got meter to turn it positive on block. It also gave me cancer. -
Yeah, I doubt looping it would be practical. It was more of a 'funny' thing in my head than anything, but oh well. Its still good to confirm that you CAN link 5A after 5BB, which means my other theory that on a croucher you should be able to link 5B instead and go into a crouching combo rather than rekkas is possible. 5BB is really one of those moves with a lot of potential I don't see players doing anything with.
-
If proration is too heavy, usually through overusage of moves or SMP, then it won't connect and you have to end with either axe kick or hells fang\22C before ID. Delaying the 3C doesn't really do anything and can cause you to do it too late from my experience. Its all about timing if you got the combo right, just takes a while to get used to it.
-
I mentioned a few weeks ago that the possibility of Azrael looping linked 5A>5B>5BBs was possible in theory given the frame data listed in the mook. However, after watching a match where a Azrael DID linked 5A from 5BB I was sadly surprised to find out something not listed in the mook: 5BB has repeat proration. I don't know how heavy it is, but that really ruins a lot of possibilities I had in mind for some funky albeit impractical mid-screen combos and\or loops. http://youtu.be/vT7FTgCRVWc?t=56m34s If youtube feels like being a jerk, it is at the 56 minutes and 32 seconds mark. I don't know how useful linking 5A from 5BB more than once would have been, but its there.

Having gotten away with hitting people 3 times in a row with 6B, I can confirm this.

GG2: Overture Story Translations (**Updated w/ Sin's!)
Lucalibur replied to Kitsoru's topic in Zepp Museum
Thanks for doing Sol's! Glad to see he is still just as much of a cool asshole as always. As far the current topic goes, that is some amazing stuff you wrote there Blade. I had no idea how much Ky's character was influenced by those events. Don't really have much to say about it myself other than I'm curious as to whether Ky's situation is going to get any better in the future and if he will be forced to pick between those he care or Humanity and Gears in general. -
GG2: Overture Story Translations (**Updated w/ Sin's!)
Lucalibur replied to Kitsoru's topic in Zepp Museum
Oh man, I have always wanted to know what happened between the old GG games and overture. Lots of things never seemed to be fully explained, so finding out there actually was an explaination and it was simply a case no one bothering to translate it until now is...great. Weird, but great. Ky clearly had it rough, but more than anything, it became obvious to him just how much of a naive puppet he was at the time. I love how much he developed over the franchise, honestly. -
Ah, I see. I have always liked that quote more than he just shouting the attack's name, although it still sounds pretty amazing. I don't know shit about Japanese, but I think I remember the first part of the quote being used in other Anime\games when a character refered to someone's 'power' or 'true power', or some junk like that. I could definitely be wrong so don't hold me on to it, though. If I'm right though, then the quote could could be something along the lines of "I will show you my true power...I will make you disappear!" or some other variant, possibly a lot more badass sounding. If someone could translate it or at least get the Japanese quote I would appreciate. And yeah, 40% minimum damage is insane. Raw or combo ender, BHS just destroys the enemy's life gauge and its delicious to watch.
-
There is another quote he also says when using it. I don't know if its random or if its character dependant, though. Regardless, OD BHS is probably my favorite super in the whole game. Like a good friend of mine likes to put; "Dat spine breaking slide."
-
I didn't want to say it, but...dem nipples.
-
Purest truth right here.

Its like a bunch of ants who found a lake of honey and are jumping to their deaths at it.

Nah. Bang's 5B has almost 30F total, although a meaty 5B can work. Nobody would do that, though.
