Sure, just let me know. Also, I'll be going to red spark, so if someone needs a ride to that, let me know gas for my car is super cheap, and car pooling makes it even cheaper. Fuck yeah 41 mpg.

Hey guys, I think we should get people together for that five dollar footdives event. https://www.facebook.com/events/297907610272079/ I can give probably 2 or 3 people (4 or 5 if two people who said they'd like a ride if I go decide not to go) a ride to the event. Because I know a lot of people spent money at Final Round, I'm not asking for people to pitch in for gas. So essentially, you'd get a free ride to Orlando. If you preregister, that means all this would cost you is 10 dollars. Would some people be up for it then? We need at least 8 people for a tournament and if 5 of us go in my car, that means only 3 more people would need to go for us to get a tournament going. I know that the latter portions of the tournament will be streamed - top 3 I believe. I'd be bringing some fresh blood to this thing, and I think we should go to hype our community as much as possible.

Just like, sprinkle him with more glitter. He'll give it up eventually.

QFT. Also, I love how Scottie comes in here every time it's raining Morton©.
-
Really guys? I fucking give up.
-
It only takes one ghetto frametrap to condition someone to respect your 6Cs. :P

With my new 41 MPG civic, gas is extremely minimal, but still needs to be factored in... yeah that was a mistake on my part, sorry. XD
-
Oh snap, you're right. Then why did that guy say it was a Tampa event... damn. Hmm, I may have to reconsider this then.
-
Well if you pre-reg, it's only $10 total. Plus, this is also taking place at Sore Thumbs so it's not like it's a trek.
-
Let's plan on it, then! I probably won't make it out this weekend, but definitely that weekend I can. Then Red Spark will be the following one. Why is March so busy?
-
https://www.facebook.com/events/297907610272079/ Think we can get at least 8?
-
That was funny as shit. XD
-
Naw, I'll still get the game. It's not like I'm serious about Marvel like I am Blazblue. That said, when does it release? I forgot. xD

<wesker voice> You disappoint me... </wesker voice> I tried Wesker, but I didn't like the way he moves. So far I'm certian I want to learn Dante and Zero. I was thinking Wolverine, Deadpool, or X-23 as my third.

If you're getting your 5C stuffed at match start, that answers my question: yes, they have enough time to step forward. That sucks, but by that same token, I wonder if I can just move back a little, if I know they're going to 5A. What do you generally open matches with?
-
Tager's 5A actually doesn't have the range to stuff my 5C unless he takes a tiny step forward. I just double-checked this, because I know I've gotten counterhits off Tager's starting a match with 5A. Does he have enough time at the start of a match for a step forward and a 5A if I use 5C from the very first frame of the match? We're talking precise timing, so I can't really verify this without 2 people, and PSN is down T_T I'll keep the bit about ice swords and wakeups in mind. Thinking about the wakeups now, it does make sense that a back j.C would work. I'm going to give that a try, thanks.

Instead of [CO] 5B > 5C > 6C > 2D > j.2C > j.C > 66 5C > Sekkajin > 6C > 214C (3189/43) You can do [CO] 5B > 5C > 2C > 6C > 2D > j.2C > j.C > 66 5B > 5C > 2C > 3C > 214C (3267/44) on characters that the 3C>214C thing works on, of course. I was surprised when I found inserting 2C's on a crouching opponent didn't drop the combo.
-
Keep in mind I'm a scrub, so I'd appreciate if a better player corrected/verified my thoughts here. So far, I've found it best with Tager to abuse max-range pokes for small, but effective combos. I find it's best to start matches off with a 5C, given Tager's humongous hitbox; if the Tager is dumb enough to try a normal, you've got him for a counterhit combo, but if he blocks it's a sign that he probably knows the matchup well. Be careful about zoning him with Ice Swords... Sledgehammer can be a pain to deal with. I also found that it's almost always necessary to back-dash on Tager's wakeup, because more often than not, he'll try a grab of some sort. Just be very, very careful when he has meter, because that 5620 damage from Tager Buster HURTS. He can also throw in a Gadget Finger after hitting you with that move.
-
I called him broken because he's easy as shit to do decent damage with. He plays like he's a character in an air-dasher game, and can combo most of his stuff into each other. It's why I have fun playing him. I'm not saying other characters can't output similar damage, but he seems to have a pretty easy learning curve and is a high-tier character.

I'm not trying to win tournaments in UMvC3, because I don't really want to play in those. I just want to get good enough that I can destroy the couple friends of mine that casually play the game. We usually are pretty even, and one of my friends jokingly says that I suck at UMvC3... I do, but then again so does he. I pretty much want to get good enough to pull a prank on him by wiping all his characters with Dante. XD
-
Guys, I'm playing UMvC3 right now... and I've come to the conclusion that Dante is broken as shit. Like, 5 Minutes in training mode and I've come up with a combo that does half of Wolverine's health in damage... like, really? Wtf... Also I've got some bad news. it turns out that the Sore Thumbs tournament is the same day as multi-day party I had planned for about a month. I didn't realize this until someone pointed it out. As a result, I may not be able to go. If I can somehow manage to like, leave my girlfriend in charge of my party for like a couple hours, I might stop by just for the tournament, but I don't know if that will be possible.
-
Sweet, I'ma try that out in training mode the next time I get a chance. You're gonna have to change your name to xtrololololx if you pull shit like that on people. XD
-
That actually doesn't sound all that silly. How big of a cut in damage was it, when used as a replacement in combos where 3C>214C wouldn't work?

The colorization is surprisingly very, very helpful. I don't have a problem with this, but you may want to consider different colors. People do complain about Lime and Cyan a lot... ~_~
