  1. You should try hitting up FluxWaveZ and get something started with him.
  2. I'm currently using a Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 SA (not Kai) and it's been good for me. The only real issue is the fact that you would have to dual mod it yourself (if you plan on playing 360+ps3). I've heard good things about Qanba sticks though and since they come dual-modded it might be a good choice.
  3. We may not have been victorious, but at least we beat Sigma. Wish you could have been there, Ruben. Overall, I'm really glad I went. I think I need more opportunities to play high level players and get better at controlling my nerves. Next year I think I'll do what I can to make it to different majors, like NEC. Erik, I have your energy drinks you left in Luke's car.
  4. for anyone who entered p4a, please check pools again. Because of a few extra players (including pain) the pools have been completely redone.
  5. I thought they were. Let me check. edit: http://challonge.com/scr2014_exvsfb_pool1 http://challonge.com/scr2014_exvsfb_pool2 http://challonge.com/scr2014_exvsfb_pool3 http://challonge.com/scr2014_exvsfb_pool4
  6. Looks like the bracket changed slightly from when I posted it. Originally you and Lorenzo fought first round. Glad someone caught it and stopped two AZ players from fighting right away. It also seems that players in my pool were shifted around slightly too. Not really a big deal I guess.
  7. Persona pools are up. I'm in pool one with Jona, and a few other socal guys http://challonge.com/scr2014_p4a_pool1 Marvin's in pool two with Delta, the biter, and rsquared http://challonge.com/scr2014_p4a_pool2 (This one actually looks like trouble) Erik's in pool three with brkrdave http://challonge.com/scr2014_p4a_pool3 Lorenzo and Luke fight each-other first in pool four with nano (labrys), Shaka (chie), and eventually Diospyros (yosuke) and 2gbcombo (chie? Aigis) http://challonge.com/scr2014_p4a_pool4 (I'm calling this... THE STEAK POOL)
  8. Cross-through TK Phalanx can be followed up with gustaf for about 1600 iirc. On most opponents, you can Rapid gustaf and continue the combo with 5B > j.B > j.C > dj.D > stuff. I don't really do this very much, but it's an option. Phalanx stocks are the best things in the world.
  9. Watching Dogura in Mixup Night #17 has me inspired. I just wish I could be inspired some time that wasn't the middle of the night. Also, good shit Kinkuli for almost beating Galileo. Was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
  10. Apparently Mori will be at SCR Saturday and Sunday. https://www.facebook.com/events/1377481132490369/1425772184327930/?notif_t=plan_mall_activity
  11. SCR BBCP pools have been released. I'm in pool 2 with ApologyMan, NerdJosh, and a few people I recognize from Netplay (a noel and a tager). http://challonge.com/scr2014_bbcp_pool2 Marvin's in pool 3 and has a pretty good chance of winning it. I recognize a few names, but not as anime players. http://challonge.com/scr2014_bbcp_pool3 Erik's in pool 4 with Jona (godlike Valk/Aki player) and someone named Gato, who iirc is a pretty good Tao from socal. http://challonge.com/scr2014_bbcp_pool4 Jimmy's in pool 5 with Delta (a good Noel) and several people I recognize as decent p4a players but I don't know who they play in BB (or how well they play). http://challonge.com/scr2014_bbcp_pool5 Lorenzo's in pool 8, but I don't recognize any names, sorry. http://challonge.com/scr2014_bbcp_pool8
  12. Maybe Luke can come and we can have the full "team rooby's car"
  13. Do your best to find lobbies you have a decent connection to. Don't both if it's a 0. Also, be polite. Say hello, good luck, thanks for the games, etc. It's not necessary and no one will think badly if you don't, but it's just a nice thing to do. Also, if you're godlike or something, pass once in a while. New players don't appreciate getting ran over endlessly by only one person. It's also worth trying to make your own lobbies. be sure to mention your region in the title and maybe something saying 1/2 bar +. This way other people know what to expect and you don't have to feel as bad kicking people who live 3000 miles from you. I would have suggested simply setting the lobby to good connections only, but there really aren't enough 3 bars out there for that. edit: decent latency is 2+ for most people, but 1 bars can be fine too. It's always worth trying a few matches before you write off a connection.
  14. I'm sure there's a little bit of modesty involved in that list as well. As far as I know ( and I might be wrong), JP players don't like to blame matchups much. In fact, I think they tend to talk and promote their characters strengths, rather than focusing on weaknesses, bad matchups, tiers, etc. There's probably a chance that MU experience plays a big roll as well. In p4a, I have so many matches against Naoto and Yosuke that I simply don't care about fighting them and might say they are highly in Mitsuru's favor, even though most JP players think those MUs are even or only slightly Mitsuru favor. We're all comfortable in different situations.
  15. I don't mind the MU too much in general, but this is only after having a lot of Nu experience the last few weeks. It might really be as simple as "get in and win" because she doesn't have any good ways out.
  16. Definitely! I'm planning on going to evo, and besides that I'm trying to just get to more majors in general. Hopefully we can meet up sometime
  17. Thanks for everyone showing up. Thanks for the set Zeal. I'm sorry for acting like a child. Gonna try not to beat myself up over netplay as much in the future.
  18. The stream is up. Playing casuals until the tourney starts, very soon! http://www.twitch.tv/token
  19. The tournament is on. I'll be streaming it on token's channel in an hour! http://www.twitch.tv/token
  20. Good Games to everyone yesterday. Thanks Ruben, Jimmy, and Jimmy for setting the ranbats up, thanks Tuscan people for coming down, and thanks to everyone who played some persona with me. Erik, here's 8 videos of Denpa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU0ufZjBbm0
  21. So long as there's a weakpoint, it's PRETTY DEADLY. Without one, you'll need meter to confirm into real damage. So if anyone's feeling lazy, use a drive starter as punishes without weakpoints currently active, and use 5C when you have them.
  22. with an upper weakpoint you can easily break 5K meterless with FC 5C > 236D. The main reason I prefer 3D as a starter is that it adds the second weakpoint. This way if the combo is bursted early, you'll likely still have 2 weakpoints applied. I *try* to reserve 5C > 236D for when the opponent has no burst. The damage is almost identical if you are going near optimally with either starter. The reason I prefer 5C when I can is simply because it's faster and lazier. Some reversals can't be punished with 3D at all anyway, like Litchi's.
  23. They can use awakening supers while in shadow berserk mode.
  24. Erik, Mu's counter assault might be good now :D I'm really happy with Azrael's changes. Slightly buffed him I guess, but it mostly just means that everything wont be so character specific anymore. And growler will actually be worth using more often.
