[P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion
LegendaryRath replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Mitsuru Kirijo
Posted an update to the video thread. There's a LOT of shuuto footage on there now. His Mitsuru is very straightforward, but also very solid. Don't expect anything crazy, but he does run train for like 20 matches. There was a 2v2 tournament two days ago with him in it too. Afterwards, he started the casuals train again, but unfortunately the stream got cut before it could go very far. Hopefully what's there gets uploaded sometime. edit: I'm going to update the main post of the video thread sometime soon as well, adding in all the recent updates, as well as removing DIE-chan from the notable players list (as much as it pains me to do so). Shuuto will be going there for sure though. -
I forgot to check here after we finished playing. GGs. The mirror can be a bit much though lol.

[P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion
LegendaryRath replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Mitsuru Kirijo
Video thread will get an update tomorrow including about an hour of Shuuto footage. He gets a really good win streak going, so we lucked out. It looks like DIE-chan dropped Mitsuru for Persona Sho. He's already above 800psr with him. Sad days. -
[CP] Azrael vs. Hakumen Match-up Discussion
LegendaryRath replied to zeth07's topic in Azrael Matchups
Hakumen's 3C does not put him in a counter-hit state. If he's close enough when he does it, you can use 5B > 3C as a punish, or 2B > TCL if he's further away. Unfortunately, there are ranges where he can use it without being punished. -
[CP] Azrael vs. Kokonoe Match-up Discussion
LegendaryRath replied to zeth07's topic in Azrael Matchups
I think it's worth noting that 3D will always wiff on Koko after airborn TCL midscreen. This isn't something I've noticed against any other characters. -
P4A PSN 3v3 (January 26th, 2014 @ 3PM EST)

I think I have a team already. -
Try this combo out first because it's probably the most lenient. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8R887tFvfc What's important here is that the opponent is ABOVE you when you land j.D. I recommend learning to slightly delay your j.D, so you give the opponent more time to move upwards. After that, be sure to Rapid as soon as possible and j.C as soon as possible after that.

Against Bang players with good neutral you'll have to be patient. If bang starts offense by gliding behind poison nails, you can not anti-air him. The nail will hit you and he gets a free combo. Bang doesn't have a real anti-air, so for the most part you don't need to worry about jumping on him. He might try to use the upperbody guardpoint on his 2D but the move is so slow that he has to throw it out way in advance or you will be able to land and block it. Once you get in, Bang has a really tough time. All of his escape options are risky. He might use 5D or 2D mid/upper-body guardpoint to try to beat overheads or punish pressure. By occasionally using 3D, you can CH him and get a huge combo for it too. Bang's 6D has guard-point on the first frame and beats lows, but will get CH by highs. Just be sure to mix up your drive pressure a bit and confirm your counterhits!

I'm running some errands for the next 2-3 hours. Once I get back I'll be setting up the stream! -
I'm laughing imagining Azrael with no SMP. He'd be doing five 6A (shoulder tackle) wallbounces in each combo. This really seems to be a major problem with her damage. It might actually be ok if most of her normals could only be used once.

Excellent. And since you play Aki, it's twice the reason to commentate! -
I have more than my fair share of experience against her already, having around several hundred matches with strong, knowledgeable Kokonoes. While yes, she has far too much potential for damage, it isn't her main issue imo. As a character, Koko is basically a much better Rachel. She completely controls neutral with graviton, Fireballs, and proximity traps that all allow free safe pressure on hit or block. This isn't even taking into account her amazing set of normals, many of which happen to low profile even air to ground moves. Here's what I'd love to see changed. -Graviton startup and activation lengthened. -Graviton should disappear when she gets hit. It's quite common to get her in the corner, beat her up a bit, then have her teleport to the other end of the screen with a special which has invul on the first frame. -Super Dawn (or super ball lol) Should probably go away if you hit her. Many characters are unable to punish her safely and wind up giving her free pressure. Quite a turnaround considering it's basically a guaranteed out + free invisible pressure for 50 meter. One solution to this might be to increase her recovery from the move and allow her to be counterhit with throws (which the animation would invul through the ball). -Black Hole is a serious problem. I play one of the few characters that escapes it for free most of the time, but that doesn't make it OK. Koko can blackhole on reaction to the opponent blocking fireballs, so even Azrael isn't safe sometimes. -Damage might need a tone down. Honestly I'm ok with it since most Kokos don't know combos. Wait til people do this or this or these as their BNBs. I'm too lazy to really find much to post for combos, but it's obvious that her potential for damage is hilarious. I don't play her myself so I can't say if damage itself, proration, or minimum histstun are the issues. I hate that she's in the game and I feel the game is worse now that she's in it, but it's still hard to justify a ban imo. Without a very specific, enforceable reason for banning a character, that will also be enforced in all future cases of said description, we just can't do it. Simply saying "she's too powerful. She's broken. She's too good." isn't enough. We can't define things like that because they're just opinions (even if they're most peoples' opinions). Banning console exclusive characters would have been completely justifiable at launch, but right now it would be unfair to those players who have been given time with them and have the expectation to be able to use them in tournaments. This isn't even 10% of what's involved here, but I'm sure you guys can see how complicated this sort of thing can get. This is a great post.

What I've been hearing is that it's a buff to Shadow character's meter gain. I don't have a real translation yet, but it seems like they might gain as much meter from taking damage as dealing it. Again, I'm not 100% on this one yet. Other notes seem to be regarding improved input priority for certain moves (something that blazblue desperately needs). Just another example of Atlus actually caring, while asw ends up being lazy.
