  1. So has anyone gotten the combo shown at 2:00 in this video down? If so can you help me with the nuances behind it? I can't seem to pick up after Id Naiads, ether I hit too late or they tech immediately after my 5B... Also, what IS the 7K route? =3

  4. one could always do something like 3C->236A->6D if they wanted perfect burst safeness. but I'm not sure if that's comboable ATM. Someone should get to work on burst safe Relius combos, they ought to exist...
  5. I think so, but by the time you hit 3c most opponents have already bursted...
  6. So I found a fun little way to reset after getting someone in Duo Bios. It all started when I was finding a way to combo finish with it. Normally I'd simply push the opponent to the corner and pick up with 2C->6C->22A->4D->3C->optional tedo, but then it happened... I did 2 5C's while duo Bios was hitting the opponent, I then proceeded with the usual pick up of 2C->6C->22A, but the opponent teched right before the 22A and they got smacked with an unblockable 4D for a reset I didn't even expect. I find it's super effective because the opponent is distracted by the whiffed 22A, I have yet to not have this reset work. Also on the off chance you mess up the combo time stuff the worst that will happen is that it'll just combo normally into 4D->3C.

No worries, also delaying the jump cancel+6D a little after the 3C will cause the 6D and the following j.b to hit the opponent while they're closer to the ground, making the rest of the combo a lot less execution heavy. There usually are a lot of points in my home boi Relius' combos that you can put delays in to make his combos work, keep experimenting with timings and it'll get easier and easier. Oh and if you feel the second hit of 41236B is going to whiff use 6D inbetween the first and second hit of it, it'll make the second hit guaranteed to hit.
  8. Appparently 6B is invulnerable to Relius' gears DP. Or at least it's invulnerable when I use it.

Hasn't happened to me, but if it did I'd probably be all like: "fufufu~ you'll have to come a long way before your on my level of playing scrubby purple grab Relius!" and proceed to do my patented Duo Bios purple grab loop for a billion damage. Speaking of which I haven't tried that since CSE... I wonder if it still works? But yeah, if you're still salty after you defeat them just yell "IT'LL BE YEARS BEFORE YOU CAN FIGHT ME!!" at the TV in a pro wrestler impression. that'll clear it right up. I hear that. Best you can do is stay positive yourself, and then to wait until the rest follow suit!
  10. It's not terribly relevant, but you know Unlimited kagura's motorcycle distortion glitch that he can do against Relius and Carl? Unlimited Bullet can do it too with her new air distortion.
  11. I, personally, wasn't talking about banning her because I'm poor as dirt, that'd be silly, I just want people to acknowledge that not being able to lab her makes the already painful experience of facing her infinitely worse. Just a little empathy really, nothing drastic.

What i'm saying is, yes, I'd love to put in the effort to learn how to play against Kokonoe, and I don't expect to know how to do it in one or two matches, because while damage and neutral come easy to her she's not easy to play against. But matches against her are scarce, short, and far inbetween. And I can't exactly take out a notepad mid battle and go over all the many varied ways she obliterates me. I can't learn the feel of her moves, the timing needed to deal with them, or the influence of graviton in such short matches, no matter how plentiful they may be, (which again they are not.) And also there's the simple fact that I learn best how to deal with an opponent after playing them myself to some level of competency, which for the obvious reasons is impossible with Kokonoe. On the subject of affording her, CP was a present for me, I had ordered it but it was bought by another. I myself, like many here, am a broke college student who cant exactly shell out 20 bucks to get a Japanese psn card whenever they want. I'd love to have her, but I can't afford her right now.

Are you seriously saying that we should be expected to gain accurate or valuable data from a character who ALTERS YOUR MOVEMENT ITSELF AT WILL, all in the course of 99 second intervals, while she changes her own movements all the while? She has one of the most versatile styles of gameplay out there, with that kind of method we'll be playing BB4 before we have a hold on how to play against her. Not having her is still certainly a handycap, but not one we chose.
  14. Call me a pessimist, but I have a dark looming feeling she'll somehow manage to get buffed in CP2. (Prolly has something to do with our other resident cat-lady's reputation of defying the odds only to become even more S-Tier.) Anywho, playing Kokonoe in BB is essentially bringing a gun to a knife fight. She's not impossible to beat but she's defiantly advantaged in a way that'll make other people salty. So now the age old question remains, how much salt does it take to get a character banned? And is OP grounds for a character ban? On one hand, if we just cross our arms and demand every OP character we come across be banned, we deprive ourselves the joy of proving ourselves against such foes. On the other hand Kokonoe's S*** is bananas and we can't tone the character down ourselves, so until Arksys does (if they do) we have no way of circumventing her BS without banning her. Whatever the case, I hope it's dealt with speedily. I really like Koko's character, and I really wish there wasn't such a stigma about her as there is now. But to disregard what she is now would be a disservice to the many players who don't use Kokonoe, and that can not stand.
  15. Actually now that I'm trying it again I'm having trouble connecting the j.b after the IAD... It's ether frame tight or it was an incredible fluke that I got it the first time. 6B_>j.C->j.236C gives you an opertunity to summon/desoummon Ignis. that's why people use it

  17. I didn't see the 5C spam mentioned in the match-up thread, but what I did see was some very good play. Only thing I would add is that you need to bait his [2]8C. Understand that whenever you see a Kagura crouching, even for a single second, it's more likely than not that they've finished buffering that move and are getting real antsy waiting to use it. Take advantage of Ignis when fighting a Kagura who DPs on wakeup. Ether use her to safely lock him down while you yourself defend, or use her to get oki from a safe distance. A trick I use against Kagura to get him into my mixup is to place myself just out of DP range and to 214B him if he neutral techs. If he DPs I'm out of range, if he blocks Val Lyra he's pushed toward me and I have a 6A waiting, (since he's busy charging that DP they almost always get overheaded. If they do stand, which is rare, they lose their DP charge and are subject to my mixup.) Hope I was helpful!
  18. no no, Don't block the colossal surfboard of a sword, Dash ley through his 5C and attempt to land within your 5B range. you'll be able to strike before he has the time to even think about charging DPs. Honestly his 5C is so easy to spot that I've been able to pull off this maneuver on reaction with consistency.
  19. I find Dash ley is useful to close in on him (66236A and 2366A are both vital.) If you time it right you'll spin right through his 5C's range and recover in time to get pressure or damage with 5B. Also try to keep in between the max range of your 5B/3C and the max range of his jabs, this is the winning zone for Relius. Jumping against Kagura is a mistake, try to conquer him on the land. If you have want to jump out of the corner do it after right in his face so that you'll for sure be over him by the time he can pull 6C out.
  20. Every time Hazama gets me with 214D~A I die a little inside. It happens to me alot because it comes after 3C, which hits low, and no one ever uses it after anything else. Ever.
  21. Well you can use it on rising J.C like valk does to extend pressure... pretty much everything non Id lauger that a RC could do is covered by ignis. But speaking of Id Lauger and mixup, I sometimes use it and 2D at the same time to hide 2D's hot pink hook and distract from Ignis' pose to fool the opponent into thinking they can punish Id Lauger or stop guarding. Even if they keep guarding 2D drags them back into pressure. If I had to do investigations on RC and mixup, I'd start with uses of 41236B->RC->stuff or 22A/B/C->RC->stuff.

  25. Black hole should be a combo finishing Distortion, like Carnage Scissors, or Vol Tedo. It could make a hard crunch noise and do a hard knockdown. Also TheArm05 for President of ArcSys
