[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
She comes with preorders so technically she's available at launch. Also as Suzaku said above, she's playable at TGS. Hopefully we get a ton of impressions on both characters -

lol, you seem to have bad luck with posting videos lately pulsr. Here's the right link from snooping his YT channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dNb5PFaT-Y&list=UULXJMzL--7dDtgYa5onheCw -
Based on what I've watched of Sho these past 8-10 months, I'd say Sho is easy to learn overall BUT he's easy to learn because he's really based on fundamentals. Sho's neutral has a very strong footsy game to it since he doesn't really have much going for him here other than a great set of normals to work with. The projectiles help a bit but they are really there more to compliment his footsy game than to be a big part of his neutral. Similarly, while Sho has some quite frightening pressure options, they don't really shine unless you're good at mixing up your pressure and being overall unpredictable. In the end, I guess it's best to say Sho is an easy character to learn but if you're lacking in fundamentals, you might struggle to play him well.

Wait, two eyes out at the same time? Man, I'm going to be such a jerk with this character. I'm looking forward to it. Comes down really slow huh? Hmmm, I wonder in what way we can best make use of it. EDIT: After thinking about it for a bit, maybe you can combo up into the cloud instead of waiting for it to come down. That seems to make the most sense right now to me. Also, that Awakening super is pretty interesting. It'll really give us the ability to restrict the opponent's movements if we combine it properly with the chocolate cake and the clouds This character. OMG, this character. So good.

I only watched one challenge but from what it looked like, it seemed like you could select which weather you got from the Arcana super by pressing one of the four buttons at the right time?

According to this post from Tokkan back when they showed the second lobby trailer, the lobbies mention which region of the world players should be from when playing in the lobby. Not sure if it's still the case in the final release.

[P4AU] Rise Kujikawa Gameplay Discussion
RurouniLoneWolf replied to RurouniLoneWolf's topic in Rise Kujikawa
The basic combo video from Sugi_Vs is pretty good. It's great to see that you can combo into 5D and 2D to get a guaranteed scanned condition on the opponent. Some interesting experiments with D normals in pressure too. Looks like we're off to a good start ^,^ -

Rise Kujikawa Basic Combos by Sugi_Vs

An interesting theory. I think there's a good chance that you might be correct. Cloudy weather buffing the cloud summons would be logical. I guess all that leaves is Sunny with an unknown effect.
-
Oh, you were talking about Atlus streams and Evo exhibitions. My mistake. I have seen that stuff. I thought you were talking about the super arcade event last week.
-
No I have not. Mind posting a link in the Rise gameplay thread?

lol, that's what I'll be doing while waiting for the NA release. Plus, I'll be stalking people for Rise info. It's confirmed region free.

Don't mind me. Just dropping off info from the Xrd news and gameplay discussion thread before it becomes a hassle to retrieve it. Sin reveal scan, courtesy of the Great Kurushii Famitsu Article with tons of screens SoWL translation of some things said in the Famitsu Article -
OMG, two clouds for SB? That seems really good. I'm going to have fun with that. Getting an extra 5 SP every now and then sounds nice too. Extra SP in general is always welcome in my books.

These are some interesting notes. Thank you for writing them. The bubble being so sturdy is a pleasant surprise though I guess it's necessary because of how slow it travels.

[P4AU] Rise Kujikawa Gameplay Discussion
RurouniLoneWolf replied to RurouniLoneWolf's topic in Rise Kujikawa
Atlus USA reps mentioned that you can combo into it with an OMC during one of their first streams. With time and experimentation, we might find a way to do it without an OMC. That said, not sure how well the damage for that super is going to scale in a combo. -
Thanks for all the info Surf. So the items that come out are charge based. Interesting. Spring loaded Igor head being immediate is good news since the AA hitbox looks really nice. I'm curious about how it'll differ from her 2B. Maybe it'll be similar to Naoto's 2B vs Venom Zapper with different head invuln frames. Guess we'll see. The cloud sounds like it may have combo potential. How did the hitstun on the lightning look? Even, if we can't get a full charge to get the chocolate present out for oki, maybe we can summon the cloud instead and have it work as oki or maybe as a means to extend pressure depending on how long it takes the lightning to come out after the cloud starts hovering. Need to see this lightning cloud for myself to get a better idea. SB version definitely feels like it'll be extremely useful in neutral and pressure. Sagiri eye sounds like it can be pretty useful for combos if we can manage to get it out in the middle of one. How did the start up look like to you, Surf? Short? decent? long? I'm also quite curious about how good the vacuum is in neutral. Though, i guess it might vary depending on the button uses to summon it. Excellent, Marie's shaping up nicely. A gameplan is slowly starting to form in my head.

Northeast Championship XV Anniversary in Philly. Home of Anime
RurouniLoneWolf replied to eric's topic in Archive
My first NEC. I'm pretty hyped for this. I'll be counting the days until this event. Excellent! I'll be entering all 3 then. The real magic trick here for me is getting a Shana and Fiona ready in time for DFC and AH3. Should be lots of fun either way. -
Oh,didn't realize UNIEL is on the runback. I'll have to check out the archives later. 5th place is pretty good. Congrats!
