  2. Excellent. I was actually wondering yesterday if any of SoCal's Labrys players would be able to make it out to the event. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
  3. It's possible that it's a placeholder but it seems like a logical release date from Aksys, all things considering. Arcana Heart 3 in September, Xrd in the holiday season and then UNIEL in March. About 3 months breathing room for each. Anywho, I'll be sure to preorder it as soon as it shows up on the Canadian sites.
  4. Whoops, didn't realize the forum had a mod now. Think I'll stop my work here and leave the rest to him.
  5. For the NA release, he's free for the first week on PSN. But for Japan, he's free only with first print copies of the game. If you don't preorder, you'll just have to take your chances that the site you order from sends you one of the first print copies.
  6. That's a nice site. I'm surprised I'm only now hearing about it. oy oy, there's no need to be so black and white about this. You can stick around on the site, just feel free to not waste time dealing with insufferable people if you don't have to. On a more interesting topic of discussion, I wonder if there's a possibility that Adachi will be available to try out at tomorrow night's event at Super Arcade. He should be complete by now since his DLC would've had to pass certification by now to make it in time for next week's release.
  7. All right guys. Settle down. There's no need to turn something so small into such a big thing. It's not like any of this is well documented and easily accessible information to begin with to be honest, especially the stuff concerning the Japanese release.
  8. Once all the formatting for the pages is decided on and done, I'll help get all the Shana info from the OP into the wiki. Taiga might require some recon though.
  9. Since the game launches next week in Japan, I've gone ahead and created all the remaining Rise threads in preparation. Let me know if anything is missing or there are any typos. I'll get started on posting the matchup threads and working on her wiki tomorrow.
  10. Post footage of your matches here to receive advice and suggestions about how to improve. Please be sure to be respectful with your critique as well as accepting other people's critique. We're all here to become as strong as we can be with Rise so treat each other in a manner befitting a comrade in arms. But RurouniLoneWolf, I don't have any equipment to record the replays of my matches! Ah, an understandable yet troublesome problem to have. Here's a few quick tips to get the footage you need by other means Lots of people like to stream open netplay lobbies in our anime community. Try playing in one of these open lobbies and then use the stream archive with a time stamp as your footage for critique Similar to the above idea, you can also try entering streamed local or netplay tournaments or ranbats. Not as good as the previous option because time constraints mean you won't necessarily play on stream but it's still an option. Nag as annoyingly as possible Politely ask someone you know who has recording equipment to play a set and record the footage for you. If all else fails, you can try recording your footage on your phone or camera. The quality doesn't have to be good enough to be a Hollywood Blockbuster, just needs to be good enough that people can see what's going on and give proper critique.
  11. This is a thread where you can ask any questions you want about Rise in Ultimax. Frequently Asked Questions will be compiled here in the opening post of this thread. FAQ [collapse] [/collapse]
  12. This event sounds like it'll be interesting. Atlus USA continuing their godlike support for this game. I read on twitter that there might be some exhibitions with top local players too.
  13. These are some pretty interesting finds. I'll have to experiment with them a bit a little later. Thanks for sharing this info with us, logichole!
  14. hmmm, ok. Guess I'll skip on preordering and take my chances then. Thanks for the quick reply.
  15. Has there been any mention of a digital release? I'm trying to decide whether I should preorder or not.
  16. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Marie was ever confirmed to be free for the Japanese version. Only for the NA version and only for the first week. Also, because Adachi and Marie are free on PSN for the first week for NA, it shouldn't matter whether you get physical or digital for those wondering. Might be SOL if you're getting the Japanese version though...Go Team North America?
  17. Not sure if there's anyone who qualified after Taka but I believe qualifiers are done until the Last Chance Qualifiers right before the tournament.
  18. RP lobbies. Let's go! Some very nice observations. Thanks for pointing these out. Lobbies specifically for playing boss characters is pretty neat. I could see it becoming quite popular among the more casual players. I'll probably spend a decent amount of time in there for fun myself.
  19. For Linne, Kuuga is definitely a powerful option. Very good at blowing up predictable pokes in neutral and predictable attempts to mash out of pressure. That said, like most projectiles, it's undesirable to whiff it so it's not something they'll want to throw out all the time, so long as you can show them why it's a bad idea to do so that is. As for the range of her normals, I think they have slightly less range than Nanase's normals. It just doesn't matter in the end because Linne is so fast that she can get in and out of her ideal ranges in a heartbeat ^,^ Not a bad MU though, mostly even I feel. Just requires some good footsies. But then again my XP in UNIEL is still pretty low and my skill level is ??? so who knows. For Hilda, I wouldn't really say it's a list of things I look out for since I haven't really run into a lot of Hildas. This is more a list of notes I made after reading Diarmuid's Hilda guide in preparation for fighting them and playing her a little later on. Pillar is a 15 frame low. A and B versions come out at set distances but EX tracks. Be careful of this when trying to advance. Make sure to downback when you try to advance 5.[C] is a slow overhead but has a massive hitbox. Lynchpin is an overhead with decent startup but comes out at set distances. Interference A (The horizontal spike that comes at you from the front) is negative on block but has good start up. Interference B (the one from the back) is pretty positive on block (+13) but has slow startup. So block from the front, try to advance a bit. Blcok from the back, don't move a muscle. Skewer whiffs on crouching. A version is 17f of startup and -10 on block. B Version has 39f startup but is +6 on block.
  20. Looks like it's just as I suspected from the last video that showed some of the lobby. P4U2 lobbies are 32 player lobbies instead of BBCP's 64 player lobbies. A nice compromise that should still allow a pretty good number of people to hang out in a single lobby and increase netcode performance. Also, yay, Nanako avatar! Time to run around lobbies going "Everyday's great at your Junes!" ^,^
