Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters

Great monthly. BB Top 8 was really great to watch, especially Grand Finals. Next monthly, we'll have to sing Christmas carols and drink egg nog :P No, thank you for coming. I didn't get to talk to you personally but I enjoyed watching your Carl. Forgot how scary it could get when you get trapped between Carl and Nirvana, lol. Feel free to come visit again anytime! Hazama, Axl, same thing, lol. The formula usually goes You + getting constantly harassed by bladed weapon on the end of a chain = endless despair ;.; Unacceptable! Not playing is my schtik! But on a more serious note, not wanting to play in tournies is understandable. You've got to listen to your heart in the end. Nothing wrong with just playing for fun. This is a hobby after all. As for rotations and sets, all I have to say is...ugh. I never realized how hard it could be to play until I decided to play more while I'm at Foonzo. I used to think about this a lot while I'm at Foonzo. It's tough balancing everything out so that everyone is happy and 90% of the reason I usually default myself to not playing while I'm at Foonzo. But for your case, maybe we can just always have at least the first station dedicated to sets? Seems the most practical since it's also the stream station. -
Summer 2014? Just as expected. Now let's see if they can live up to my expectation of a June release. Oh, I hope Johnny Yong Bosch still voices Adachi in the English version. Need to have that epic moment where Bosch is essentially talking to himself when Narukami and Adachi meet, lol.

[P4U2] Labrys - Speculation and Discussion Thread

Yeah, that would be pretty good if it were still like it is now but it's probably going to get toned down in damage or the window where it auto-counterattacks will be specific or only start at a certain period. Otherwise, it would pretty much be GGs for almost the entire cast if they triggered Red Axe B Brutal Impact no matter how much life they have, lol. -

Excellent. It's always nice to see people from out of town. I look forward to seeing your Carl ^,^ -

If Brutal Impact freezes opponents in place like Yukikaze, I will literally fall in love with this super. Guess we'll find out for sure in a week. -

Yup, I'm just going to go ahead and stop playing altogether after last night. It's the right thing to do. Though, I think I'm going to have to watch the archives later and see just how many purple air throws and command grabs in a row I got hit by because in retrospect, I'm finding it absolutely hilarious...tch, damn it, if I focus hard enough and meditate underneath a waterfall, I might be able to revive myself in time for the mashfest. On a much brighter note, there were a lot of good matches in this week's weekly. I'm really interested in seeing how things play out on Sunday with the double elim + bo3 format. Next time, I'm going to bring a pointy stick and every time you don't pushblock something in SG, I'm going to poke you. If that doesn't work, I'll use an actual sharp object. If that doesn't work, I'll do something much, much worse: I'll make a very annoying loud, screeching noise, lol. But seriously, if you want, we could play on Sunday and focus solely on practicing push blocking. Push blocking is a very important defensive tool. It's best to get in the habit of using it now. Once you get used to it, you might even want to look into learning push block guard cancels as well. Also, just shut up and take my money! *Insert appropriate Futurama photo here* -

Finally have a picture of Labrys new bubble thanks to the Dengeki articles. Although, it's only a picture of the bubble after it traps someone in it. I doubt the bubble is that big in neutral unless you do the SB version. Looks good, though the fact that it leaves them floating in the air somewhat limits what sort of combos we can do off it. Overall, looks like ASW is more or less pleased with where Labrys is right now based on the number and the nature of her changes from this loketest. Game comes out in a week. We'll probably find out more then. I look forward to carefully analyzing all the Labrys footage. Probably need to create some new threads for P4U2 too. Also, this. -
Yukari's awakening super feels like it has lots of uses. Luminos already hinted at the potential for punishes due to its fast startup and range. He also touched on the potential of oki pressure or just pressure in general. If the opponent blocks it at neutral, the tornado will be active long enough for you to re-establish full screen space for zoning if you want that instead. It can also do the same if it whiffs but is between you and the opponent since the tornado covers the entire vertical space from what I've seen, screaming "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!" Pretty useful super in my opinion but time could prove me wrong.

B. Dahlia looks pretty good but Marie and Umbrella is where the parties at for me after Squigly drops on consoles. Need Umbrella for my sister dream team and Mike Z had me sold on Marie the moment I read that Rachel Alucard would be one of the characters her play style is based off. Eliza and Beowulf are cool too though in their own way. I'm mostly looking forward to seeing how many wrestling jokes/references Lab Zero can manage to get in for Beowulf. Also, Dick Tracy Big Band, the only Big Band XD Hope that palette stays in. -
I see, thanks. Interesting. I thought they would've done 1 more tiny loketest to test network functions before the final release. In any case, it looks like I'll be spending all my days and nights dissecting P4U2 Labrys videos in just a week. I'm getting really excited ^,^ I hope there'll be Day 1 streams like BBCP

6K minimum off FC would be pretty good, especially if it could be done even from blue axe. It'll be a welcome buff if it turns out to be true. -

Pre-production on Eliza started before I got to play Squigly on my PS3. The full weight of how long I've been waiting just hit me like a ton of bricks ;.; -
Doesn't cost meter unless it's the SB version. A version is just a downward slash like you saw sometimes in the video. B and SB version are command grabs.

That was a nice video. Some of those fireball super combos looked pretty cool. -

Yay, first BBCP monthly. I'm eager to see the results of everyone's training. Also, I've been so caught up in the BBCP hype that I forgot GG existed. Going to have to make up for lost time this Sunday! Considering your recent luck, I would think you'd pray to not get another Tager Mirror off the bat before you pray for that, lol -
I'm no expert but it doesn't look like it to me. If you look closely in the third video, jD comes out so fast now that Yu won't even be back on the ground before it hits. Plus on hit, jD seems to knock them back and allow them to tech the moment they touch the ground, allowing them to get back to neutral.

That's unfortunate. Guess the magic of Foonzo isn't for everyone. -
The change to the untech time on the 6D bullet is a bit strange. Can't see it staying this way unless its shooting pattern is really good in neutral. Not enough data to say it's a nerf. SB Wails could be good in other ways. Also, in the notes for the last loketest, it was mentioned that it might be possible to boost the damage of SB Wails by doing stuff with the stick. So with the info we have now, it's hard to say if this is the real minimum damage. Akihiko got absolutely wrecked? From what I can see of the loketest notes for the last loketest and this one, his buffs and nerfs more or less seem even. It also feels like there's a lot of untapped/undiscovered potential with the new 5 level cyclone system and all the new properties it's bringing to each of his moves at different levels.

Yeah, spending a full week translating stuff every day would be a hassle. Take your time translating Omex. There's no big rush. Once again, it's greatly appreciated. I'm pleased with the latest Labrys info. Also, why does the mention of a Shadow Labrys with more potential than she currently has make me want to curl up into a ball and cry in a corner? ;.;

I'm also very interested in hearing about that sort of info for the new bubble move. So far nothing yet though. Anywho, more Stuff - Sweep guillotine axe super whiffs entirely - C axe super combos from air guillotine, sweep - Red axe lasts a long time (no idea if longer or not than current) - 5AA > 2B Comboed - Tsurugi hit duration (the net trapping… thing. yeah.) seems like it may have been lengthened - ombした時点でラビリスにH5Bチェーンが入らない事に気づく金切符 - New move projectile goes away if Labrys gets hit - j.2b is longer than mitsuru j.a - midscreen red axe FC confirm > j.2b loop possible - j.2b startup is slower, sb axe damage is lessened for sure - Chain knuckle followups barring EX are garbage - 2D dash cancel - 5B backdash cancel is… still in? i might have mistranslated I think the most interesting bullet point here is that Red Axe lasts longer. Doesn't say in what way it lasts longer and how much it lasts but I wonder if ASW is playing around with making higher axe levels, more resistant to losing their level from both the passage of time and hits. hmmm, Going to need more data to prove this theory. Longer hit duration on Tsurugi might open up more combo routes. Also, hooray for j2B loops on FC, lol. That's going to look cool. Chain Knuckle stuff is disappointing. I was hoping they'd become more useful but I guess you can't win them all. No mention of FC recovery moves yet. -

Every night that I get to play SG is a good night <3 GGs in SG Dom and that Painwheel+Cerebella player that I believe was M-Han. Those were some close matches Dom. Curse dropped combos! Need to practice my air-to-air jLK confirms with Parasoul. Also, our teaching tag team was OP, lol. It's always nice to teach new people SG. I was super rusty though. I had completely forgotten how to properly pace myself to teach people new to fighting games. Kept mentioning terms like "mix up" and "unscaled damage" without explaining them first/too soon for him to be worrying about. Got to shake this rust off. Plenty to teach, still mountains and planets worth of stuff to learn! Also, When's Squigly? When's Swag Air Tear Toss Parasoul combos? lol No much to say about BB. Got destroyed again, the sky is blue, etc. It was great to see how lively everyone was once again this week. Keep practicing guys, the mashfest is almost upon us! Have fun at Gore this weekend for those who are going! lol, that b-day gift is amazing -

Loketest #3 changes found so far from Omex's google doc. - 22A/B/whatever oki still is not chargable - sb red axe did 3050 vs awakened opponent - Axe Gauge carries over between rounds - 5AAA > AoA worked on Yellow Nothing much yet but this one might last a week so hopefully we'll learn all sorts of things, preferably about the new bubble move ^,^ -

Oh right, I forgot you play Mu-12 now. I look forward to seeing how much you've improved. Those are the best kind of brackets ^,^ -
Thanks for the info Stunedge. That secret Narukami super sounds like it's just for laughs, lol. That Mitsuru D Bufula and Droit synergy sounds pretty cool though.
