  1. There's a Persona Sho player in the latest Sasashima 2on2 footage. Quick impressions - Blocking his slow projectile is a free teleport in to start mixup...maybe even make you have to quickly react and block the other way if timed right? - Might've missed this during his demonstration video but he has a persona attack that's like Relius' Val Lyra (The move where Ignis appears behind you and slashes you) - Being able to use the teleport to escape to the other side of the screen is convenient - His command grab seems pretty fast. I wonder what the downsides to it are. - That win pose where he disappears into bits of darkness is pretty cool Pretty impressive early showing for Persona Sho. A nice addition to the cast. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.
  2. That's actually the new Guard Cancel Evasive Action option. It's new to P4U2
  3. This is good to hear. Hopefully, footage manages to find it's way to us soon then. I'm curious to see what people can do with him so far.
  4. Chaos being underplayed isn't too surprising. Puppet characters don't get much love ;.;
  5. 12/20/2013 Gifu Leisureland Labrys vs Junpei Labrys vs Chie Labrys vs Naoto Labrys vs Yosuke Labrys vs Naoto(starts in the last few seconds of Part 1 Labrys vs Yosuke Labrys vs Yosuke Labrys vs Junpei(Ends in the start of Part 4) Labrys vs Chie Labrys vs Chie x2
  6. I wasn't referring to you but your opinion pretty much brings up all the concerns of my post. How can you know Liz's bad based off month 1 footage of Liz players whose skill with the character is unknown? How can Liz having lower damage be an undeniable fact when 1) the skill of the Liz players you've seen so far is still in question 2) It's only been a month since the game released and the game didn't even have a training mode to properly experiment in until last week. Also, I'm confused. I don't really understand the connection you were trying to make between character's being underplayed for reasons beyond character strength and Liz having lower damage Maybe if you were getting this information from tweets or other means directly from good Liz players in Japan I'd consider these claims more credible but right now, it just feels like jumping to conclusions, which is unnecessary.
  7. 1) How do you know Liz is bad? If she's underplayed, then there's going to be less footage of her, which in turn means you're less likely to see footage of good Liz players. So if you're just judging based on footage, it's kind of a weird conclusion to come to. 2) A character's overall strength isn't the only, or even the most important, factor that determines how much they'll be played. Ease of use/Complexity is probably a more important factor. Take Shadow Labrys for example. Great character but overall, an unpopular character because low health + puppet character.
  8. Vatista looks so adorable in that Christmas picture XD The official tourny should be pretty cool. Going to see some really good play. I hope to see at least 1 good Orie
  9. Don't want to make a giant post so I'm ninja-stealing your collapse tech ^,^ Collapsed: Thoughts on Outlaw's thoughts: Autocombos all around seem to be a pretty nice improvement, not just functionally but also in terms of looks. It feels like they fit their character's even more suitably now. Doesn't really look like first attack gives a bonus for the burst gauge from what I've seen but I could be wrong. Xiei spoke briefly about guard cancel rolls in the stream chat during NEC. Supposedly, they're kind of slow, which makes its use limited. Still, it should have its uses. I've seen Labrys and Chie players experimenting with hop cancels for both blockstrings and combos. In blockstrings, they seem to be mostly useful because the blockstun of the jump normal + being done very low to the ground + the forward hop putting you right back next to the opponent = pressure reset. It's a gamble though since unless they've changed it in P4U2, you can't block during a hop so you probably won't see it too often. Not really sure what you are talking about with SB Supers. The extra damage seems reasonable for the extra 25 meter. I presume you're mostly talking about SB Reversal Awakening Supers on CH? Don't really have any comment on this because I highly suspect that they aren't going to be very practical to attempt in a few months. Narukami's B version of the command grab can probably be very easily be mashed or jumped out of on reaction. SB version looks more tricky though. I wonder if using the A version, which is a downward slash instead of a command grab, can be used to condition people to not push buttons or jump too. Either way, just using the grab sparingly will be enough to make it effective. Also, pretty much agree with Guyman that Narukami is still overall one of the best characters in the game. But it's early so we'll see. Labrys sweep is still probably unsafe but normally Labrys players cancel it into Guillotine Axe so people probably aren't punishing it because they were expecting the Guillotine axe but it never came. On the topic of Yukari's mixup, I think that most of the cast is still in the process of improving their mixup/pressure. Well, except for Aigis and Akihiko, who didn't really change much in this aspect. Not sure she really needs to improve from where she is now though since her focus is on zoning. Also, I wouldn't really say mahagarula is all that powerful. Because the tornado doesn't really prevent you from seeing what Yukari is doing and her mixups are straight forward, I really don't think it's all that hard to just sit there and block all the mixups if you are familiar with all her options.
  10. Reyn played Kagura. Also, Congrats WakeupDP, Based BB Sub God! ^,^
  11. Say it ain't so Heartless ;.; How are the people at Foonzo supposed to get their recommended dose of science now?! On a more serious note, Sucks that we won't see you around Foonzo until UMAD but you got to do what you go to do. I'll have to try and get some netplay matches with you when I finally have a copy of BB (Why isn't it March 25th yet? ;.; ) . Don't be a stranger in this thread or the Sankishin chat that I never use but really should!
  12. Airmaster, the hero we deserve! Thanks for this. I completely forgot to ask yesterday. Guess I'll spend Thursday night trying to remember what I used to do Thursday nights before I started going to Foonzo in April.
  13. There's some good Labrys footage in the recent Gifu Leisureland Nico footage. @16:00~ Can't be sure but it looks like sweep has a hop cancel now. It allowed the Labrys player to do this blockstring. 5A > 5B > Sweep > Hop jB > 5A > 5B > Sweep > Guillotine Axe. At Red Axe, it built up a pretty nice chunk of blue health on the Chie player. Feels like you'd probably be able to mash out during the hop cancel though as Surf mentioned earlier about hop cancel jB in general. @22:15~ Maybe it's just me but it looks like C Houjuu/Bubble holds the captured opponent for a pretty short amount of time. Maybe the true strength of the D and SB versions is that it captures them longer. Also, yes! A Labrys comboed into SB Beast! I can sleep well tonight ^,^ @24:30~ In case anyone hasn't gotten a good look yet, you can see how much of the screen SB Gears covers since this Labrys tried to use it from fullscreen.
  14. Yeah, I'm also a bit skeptical about that jD experiment managing to be useful in the long run for that same reason but it might still be good once in a blue moon. Hmmm, I never considered that but SB God Hand as a combo extender would be pretty neat. Whether it is possible, probably depends on how quickly Chie recovers from the animation. Wish there was more footage of it so I can get a better idea if it's possible.
  15. Wasn't going to say anything since I didn't play Chie in P4U and am mostly interested in her in P4U2 but this forum is as quiet as a tomb so I guess I'll join in. 5C goes behind her now? I didn't notice a difference. Guess I need to look out for that more but I think that would indeed make it a safer poke, which is good because she only has 3 persona cards to work with. 5/2DD oki does indeed still work from Skullcracker ender in the corner but from what I've seen, because 5/2DD doesn't seem to OTG, people can delay tech to escape most of it. Need to see more though. Maybe some Chies are doing it wrong. In any case, it's still good to get at least one good mixup in though. Right now, midscreen mixup in general seems to be pretty weak with the loss of the old oki but it's still pretty early. People still need time to learn new setups. Tetsu! did some interesting stuff from rampage OMC in his sets. I also saw a Chie experimenting with low to the ground jD from neutral. Not sure how good that's going to be in the long run though. Also, now that training mode has been added to the arcade, I hope we'll see more SB God Hand combos ^,^
  16. Something I noted while watching matches that I guess belongs here in the Akihiko forums more than general discussion. Level 3 SB Upper = 2 Uppercuts Level 5 SB Upper = 3 Uppercuts
  17. WakeUpDP, You're alive! Now I'm super sad I won't be there tonight ;.;
  18. These are just my observations so I could be off the mark but to break this issue down by region. For NA, I blame ASW US doing the localization. If Aksys themselves did the localization, there's little doubt in my mind that the NA version would be out by now. I'm not sure if it's because ASW US is still pretty new to the localization business or it's because they're doing the localization with limited resources to save money but there's definitely a gap in skill when it comes to localization. For EU, the EU version is most probably based off the NA version, meaning they have to wait for the NA version to be complete. Normally, this isn't too much of an issue because the difference in release date between JP and NA isn't too huge but in this case, it's a much bigger factor. But the most important factor is really that based on their track record, Zen United looks like it's a pretty small company with very limited resources. Quick localizations is probably very literally impossible for them to do.
  19. *Joins in with golf claps* Yeah, Congrats for sure. I still remember when I was finally released last year from the Concordia Maximum Security Prison for Computer Science students. Felt good. I'd buy you a drink to celebrate but I'm pretty sure you got your fill :P
  20. I see. Thank you for the info. I hope the one held by Arc is like Arc Revo. I thought it was really cool. I'm always glad to see this kind of support for the games.
  21. That's interesting. Do you know if it's a national tournament just for P4U2 or is it like last year's Arc Revo?
  22. lol, OMG. At first, I had no idea what you were talking about but then I started snooping on twitter more and now I'm dying of laughter.
  23. That Hyde was impressive. Good to see people are still leveling up in this game. I need to set some time aside this weekend and catch up on footage of this game. I'm curious to see how much everyone else has grown.
  24. dat almost half a year localization lag. The only thing that's left to be seen is whether ASW announces the release of a new iteration in Japan before or after the NA release.
  25. ;.; Unlimited Hakumen brings back bad memories. You ask for the impossible, Dom. This is the main event everyone is waiting for! XD
