  1. Looks like Chipp can combo 5H into Alpha Blade now.
  2. Undertow looks weird. In the clip it looks like he does Undertow straight into 2H then into a BBU? Actually I have no idea what Undertow looked like before. Edit: Nevermind that's what it looked like before, although now it seems like Undertow causes float, because it combos into BBU, which it apparently doesn't do now.
  3. Actually yeah they've been doing some changes. Sol's page initially listed Grand Viper and Bandit Bringer as followups to Volcanic Viper. That would make sense.
  4. I think if she canceled into one of her three kick moves, if she had a card it would be powered up. Now, whether as a cancel or raw, she can decide if it should be powered up or not by using D instead of K. The video shows her doing 214D and getting powered-up Gekirin without canceling, so that covers that. They don't show her canceling into a normal version, though, so I'm not sure. Regarding Dizzy: it shows her using a fish in her first clip that bites three times instead of once. Property change, new move? Can't load the site to check and it's not in your translations. There's also the "BIT NG" above her tension bar. No clue there.
  5. For Jam I think it's saying you can choose whether or not to do the powered-up version of a move by using D instead of K. So if you have a card but don't want to use it, just do the K version.
  6. Wow. No. Completely wrong. Idiotic, even. Not being a douchebag is what gets you friends. Either start accepting your losses with humility, or accept that this game isn't for you. There's gotta be something in it for you, there'd be no reason to continue otherwise. This is so far removed from how actual improvement works that it's kind of sickening. Take a break, re-evaluate your life and your attitude. You've been given plenty of advice and this thread is just going in a circle. If you actually want help, show that you're willing to do something with what you've been given.
  7. Oh hi I merged your thread to a relevant thread.
  8. Hell AI cheats and netplay will fuck up his otherwise good timing, so this isn't surprising. Your abilities against the CPU or on netplay are not strictly indicative of your abilities against others. How to lose, hopefully. No one owes a bad player anything. If you want someone to go easy on you, arrange a match beforehand. Don't just hop online and expect people to cater to your needs. Netplay Etiquette: Do your best, don't bitch, don't RQ, and say GGs if you can. Anything else is up to you, and you shouldn't expect anyone else to follow.
  9. My mistake, I didn't realize getting your ass handed to you because you can't actually do your special moves was so much fun. Seriously, practice.
  10. I used to do that "blanking out" thing, too. I still do it in AH3. Honestly it comes down to just not truly knowing the combos. Memorization is only part of it - you really do need to just practice, practice, practice. Muscle memory is as important as regular memory. Stay calm, and break down combos into sizable chunks when possible.
  11. Are you on stick or pad? Regardless, for DPs you always want to make sure you're decidedly in the corner of the input when you press the button. On stick, slam it into the corner of the gate and hold it there. On pad just make sure you've got full contact on both directions. The input is Z-shaped - if you draw it correctly, the input WILL come out. Turning on Inputs in training mode will help you see where you're messing up. Also, with regards to you getting angry but swallowing it for the sake of pride... honestly, you shouldn't be getting angry, at all. You're learning, and there will be people better than you. A lot better. And they will destroy you. Some of them will even troll you. You can get mad, but if you don't direct that anger towards improvement, then it's just wasted energy. Better to just remain calm and objective. It's easier to see what you're missing and really judge your gameplay when you're not emotional about it. For now it'd probably be best to focus on training and single player, get your inputs up to snuff before you tackle versus again.
  12. For the most part. Stiff, concave buttons with weird throws. Mushy bat tops with fully circular gates*. Good enough (barely) for simple games on straightforward cabinets, but not FGs. Our local arcade has a few FG cabinets rigged up with American parts (CvS2, MvC2, Project Justice, to name a few), and I find them very difficult to play on, to the point where even a quarter-circle motion gives me trouble. That said, apparently practice makes perfect, as the arcade's owner has no trouble whatsoever with the setups. Fortunately, the more frequently played games have been given Sanwa parts. * Bat tops themselves are usually fine, it's more the gate and spring that's the issue.
  13. Oh right I forgot people give a shit about BB characters as characters.
  14. This applies primarily to BB. I actually can't think of any other games that have had these problems. Edit: except Persona, so maybe it's a weeaboo thing? Or that, yes.
  15. Everyone hates their character, even when they're good. The only people who are happy are the people playing top tier, and even then they have to defend their characters from haters and assure people they're not as good as everyone says, such that they don't even get to enjoy how good their characters really are. The only people that are truly happy are the ones who never post.
  16. Are Nu and Lambda really not similar enough? You already got a Murakumo with new attacks - hell, you play her.
  17. You guys can stop asking for characters now. Also, with regard to Dusk Thanatos saying "some moves NEED to be plus on block" - give a thought to the little guy, eh? For some characters, IB is the only way out of a situation like that. If you keep those moves plus even on IB, defense gets fucked. If you want to nerf IB, rather than increasing the blockstun even more, why not reduce its activation window? Make it riskier instead of just useless.
  18. Does your "previous FG experience" involve MUGEN or something? Honestly in any decent fighting game, and even the majority of bad fighting games, no offense is impenetrable. Be patient, and wait for your opponent to make a mistake. If they won't make a mistake on their own, force a mistake. Instant block, throw in a reversal, do something with invulnerability, hell even just burst. This whole "waah, I suck, but I wanna learn as I go" mentality isn't going to do you any favors, or win you any friends. Just go online and mash for a bit. I mean seriously mash buttons at all times. Marvel at the silly shit Ragna (and really any character) can get away with. If that doesn't build your confidence, sell the game now while it's still worth something.
  19. On Japanese parts I just have to adjust how I sit. On American parts I have to slit my wrists.
  20. If you want GG mechanics in BB, just go play GG.
  21. BB3 hasn't even been proven to exist as a concept, but it has been indicated that we're near the end of the series. You really think they're going to make that many changes? Your heart's in the right place, and "reset X to like they were in game Y" should be a bannable offense, but don't shut down the possibility for intelligent discussion beyond "I hope they add more characters" and "I don't like the lifebars."
