  1. He actually reported you for this, how adorable.
  2. If you're gonna post a gameplay suggestion can you at least try to justify it? Got no problem infracting people for posting stupid shit. Amadeous Adds: Try to avoid long, character specific lists, especially if you don't main the character and have a deep understanding of them. Asking general questions like "How can we change x character to be more fundamentally sound" are okay, even if you don't know the character, as it helps start discussion. For instance, Arakune and Noel are said to be very strong for the wrong reasons. Why is this, and how could they change it to make them into strong characters for the right reasons.
  3. FRCs work well in GG and BlazBlue has WAY faster and more consistent meter gain, without having to use that same meter for defensive options. BB would probably do okay. Then again GG gives you meter for walking forward, so I may be off-base there.
  4. Welcome to Zepp folks.
  5. I guess when it hits 500? I like round numbers.
  6. Having haters totally justifies blatant, self-indulgent incompetence, yes. Edit: Wait, shit, I have that backwards. Being blatantly, self-indulgently incompetent totally justifies having haters. That's the one.
  7. You haven't come that far at all, actually. You just got lucky.
  8. General consensus is that being the character's moderator is enough of an award.
  9. CS1 Noel wasn't dealt lemons, she was dealt thousands of Amazon.com gift cards.
  10. Welp just caught up on the last twenty pages. I've got two things to say. One: Two: why are all the matchup threads dead? You guys clearly like talking about them, you're just too lazy to click to a board where the information would be especially relevant. Then you bitch that no one posts there. idgi.
  11. Why are you guys so worried about the thread getting locked? It's an event thread, they don't get locked until the next one comes up.
  12. A million times this. If you can't handle netplay, don't netplay. If you MUST netplay, at least don't post here if you can't maintain a clear head about it. It's always griping, excuses, accusations, dodging, day in, day out... every time I check this thread there's five or six new pages, and the bulk of it is always cookiehours or Star-Demon just fucking crying. How the hell do you keep it up? At what point do you think "Maybe it's been me all this time"? The only way I can sleep at night is by pretending this is some elaborate troll. Could we please, for just a week, knock it off? And to everyone else, don't fucking antagonize. This just became an experiment in level-headedness and I don't want anything screwing it up.
  13. But casuals, story moders, and newbs don't matter in the long run. They're not even the target audience, them ever buying the game was basically a fluke. (Except maybe the story moders as far as BB is concerned.) The players who put up the money and work to stay competitive and appreciate the game for all that it is, they're the target audience, and the fact that that audience is so small but so dedicated might help explain why updates cost what they do. Maybe if fighters had more casual appeal (see: MK9) they could keep up free updates, but ASW doesn't have that luxury despite their best efforts. P4U might be an exception, though.
  14. Apparently it is. ARCADES have to buy multi-thousand-dollar cabinets or several-hundred-dollar games to keep updated normally. The CS:EX arcade patch was an easier and more economical way for them to get the product out and still make some good money. Nebulous concepts of right and wrong notwithstanding, it's ArcSys's decision with regards to how to issue an update, and they'll do whatever they think makes the most business sense. Indeed, you're not, nor are we obligated to listen to your ranting again and again. Put up or shut up: if you don't like how they do business, walk away. Plenty of other people did.
  15. Sequels to fighting games usually don't sell as well because everyone who either got their fill or decided they hate the game has no need to buy them. A series is only new and exciting for so long. In the rare instance that it's a monetary concern, they're not adequately dedicated to the franchise to carry on anyway. So yes, the next version will sell worse than the previous, unless they add something particularly amazing that makes it a practically new game, because we're getting to the point where only the legitimately dedicated will even bother to pick it up. You can complain about the current method all you want, but before BlazBlue and SF4 the idea of patching a fighting game didn't even exist, and the "new release once a year" setup was the only way to keep a game updated. It's not something a developer's going to jump right into after years/decades of doing it the old way. The only FG developers consistently doing updates instead of new releases are NetherRealms and (eventually) Reverge, and there's a reason for that.
  16. Hi, just a quick thing - no. BB uses very little bandwidth on its own, microphone communication even less so. You don't want people streaming/torrenting/etc. while you play because these tasks use significantly more bandwidth. I think PSN even allots space for mics regardless of whether or not they're being used. It shouldn't make a difference. If it seems like it is, it's probably something unrelated.
  17. Oh hey someone still has that! I lost the original files ages ago. D:
  18. They'd load faster if people would rehost the images instead of leeching bandwidth from Japan.
  19. If you're getting hit, you're getting hit - there's no reasoning with the game engine. Clearly the hitbox isn't as good as you think it is (or GS's is better than you think it is). Vary your timing until you find one that works. If you throw out 6P too early you'll lose the upper body invulnerability right around the time he's hitting you, so try delaying it. Or use a better counter.
  20. I honestly thought someone had already given it an article, so I didn't bother. There's still a week left so I slapped it on up there. I'll make sure it gets sent to Twitter, too. (You coulda said somethin'. )
  21. You got your warning, KF just has an itchy trigger finger. Don't make it any worse.
  22. Don't start shit, kthx. Edit: Modtrain up in here.
