  3. Its still bothering me with the multitude of easy to play characters, they're insistant on making Celica beginner friendly. Also, to date, I have not shown BB to anyone random and have them pick any character but Ragna or Jin in their first few seconds. People playing this game for the first time are strangely more drawn to the guys than the women, at least from my experience. Also makes me concerned if they're so obsessed with making it easier, when are they just gonna do away with stylish mode and slam it into technical like they do with P4A auto combos -_- (no offense)
  4. I honestly can't tell what that AA is doing. It just looks like toaster strudel icing flying all over the place to me. Maybe its just the quality of the scans but I cant distinguish anything for crap Dx
  5. I think the worst thing they could do to Rel would be nerf his already "meh" mixup options or Ignis' cost. Overall, I feel he'll stay in the same place as far as tiers go. Hopefully instead of nerfing Relius they just buff the rest, but thats sone hopeful thinking being directed to Arc. I am biased, but I feel Relius is a fairly balanced character. I feel the same way about Azrael though, so that might piss some people off xD
  6. So they claim, but I'm not entirely convinced with how "easy" characters are to them. Took Izayoi and made her one of the most complex characters in the game (compared to a 26 character cast). I want her to be a bit more complicated, or at least not so straightforward that she doesn't feel fun, mostly for selfish reasons such as not having 30 Celica mains on at the same time. I hate playing overplayed characters (Relius ftw, like 5 of us online?) Like I was sayin before, how long you guys feel like it'll be till we get a trailer? Seeing both the hopefully completely new character designs in action would really build up some hype
  7. Well it can't be too long before we get some sort of video or somethin, right? I mean, we got a trailer for Terumi and Kagura like a week or so after their article got released (or my concept of time is WAAAAAY off). All I'm tryin to say is it shouldn't be too long before we get some teases at what the new characters will play like.
  8. A more direct method of getting 3C>9D>j.B to land is to do 3C>9D>IAD j.B>2C as fast as you can, but this has its own set of issues, and screwing it up is easy. Really its all about delaying the jump cancel, but I've been doing it for so long that I can't remember how I got it to land when I first started. Also, 41236B>2C isn't a very common link, most of the time you'd either go into 3C or 5B. I can only see using 2C for going into an astral.

  10. I've never cosplayed, but I wanna get a Bloodedge experience Relius cosplay made for animefest coming up. Aaaanyway, ggs to arcade lobby. I was able to block Noel pressure/mixup... yet unable to get away from it. Why is assault through only -2 on blocl again? Dx. Also got needed Izayoi exp. So hard to fins Izayoi players, but I felt they were getting tired of playin my Relius cuz every now and then they'd just mash 3C over and over again.
  11. Have people had enough fun wiffing 6A/B and getting CH'd enough to let CA's be usable whenever the hell you want? Its my meter, and I need it NOW.

  13. After 41236B? You should be able to follow up with nearly anything. 5B, 5C, 3C, 6B should all fit right there unless you really prorated the combo. Then either skip leis or go into 3C. As TD said, its a loose link. Just wait till after you recover from leis and you should be golden,
  14. I don't know a lot of the FG community apart from people here on DL, but who was doing the commentating on that match? I was laughing while staring in awe when he said "Its the final scramble... and he made an omelette!" And yeah, Dogura's CH 5D combo was pretty awesome in that earlier round. First time seeing any of the pro Jp players play live.
  15. Just note that the recovery on grabs is different from character to character, though this may only affect if you get a CH or not. It hits carl half the time, so I imagine it hits everyone. Carl's grab animation is weird and sometimes it wiffs over his head. I guess its an ok option, but that would be a hard callout and would lose to any meaty setup. Also, interesting find. 6A>RC>j.B is a fuzzy on taller characters.
  16. I don't think you can outright punish wakeup grab with anything other than vinum or astral. Backdash avoids it, but the nerf to our backdash just makes us avoid their mixup. You could do j.C CH>j.214B and get either a good damage pickup or oki, but thats only if j.C CH's. Ive also had a lot of success with dash ley, particularly as a round starter move against certain characters like Kokonoe. Definitely needs more experimenting, but it seems like a decent option at the very least.
  17. But I even tech with C xD I need to use AB so I don't fall for air unblockable reset, or not falling for obvious resets (lookin at you Bang). Seriously though, all this talk about defense makes me cry at led ley. I was thinkin about your idea from earlier with 236A and 236[A] being new moves, but 236A being grab invul at like a 15-20f duration.
  18. I wouldn't say 214D is completely useless. Its good to use against hakumen, cuz he has limited options to beat it. Over all though, Myoro has a good assessment. Really the first thing to do is see what you have issues with xD my biggest issue is pressing C.
  19. Not to mention 236A can really only punish dp's off a successful ley. Some character specifics are able to be killed this way if you read properly (example: Mu/Jin 6C). 22A even has its uses against characters that can cover distances very quickly such as Rachel. Not somethin to use too frequently, since its -9 on block and will possibly leave you open afterwards. Somethin I need to practice a bit more is jump cancelling 3C into barrier. So many people burst this should be burst bait, yet I never barrier.
  20. Learn 5B>3C>6D>j.B. Leads to everything as far as pressure/mixup is concerned. You just get more gimmicky from there since his mixup is kinda straightforward. Also leads to combos easily, either in the corner or midscreen. 3C>6D>j.B>2C>6C>41236B midscreen and 3C>6D>j.B>2C>236C>214A corner. Lots of oki options. Standard is 214C since it catches everything and puts them in blockstun for a long time. From there its either being respectful to their defensive options with block+6D (I need to use this more) or getting more gimmicky. 236D is the standard for unblockable setups since its so easy to time on wakeup. Very effective against Noel. Usually you'll set up oki after 3C or 4D, but if you wanna go for a safer UB setup, 6C>236D safejumps but is kinda telegraphed. These are the two things I can think of that are kinda necessary for people new to Relius, but there's more.
  21. You could do 6B>j.C>j.236C>4D>3C to squeeze more damage for the slightly more ignis cost. At least I think that's what you're askin about. Ended up comin out like 5B>3C>6D>j.>2C>6C>41236B>3C>236C>214A>665B>6B>j.C>j.236C>4D>3C [3648/26%/3300 IG] Was testin out midscreen 236C RC combos that used ignis for more corner carry usin 214C, a lot easier to confirm into, but j.B>6B is pretty tight here 5B>3C>236C>RC>IAD j.B>665B>2C>6C>214C>IAD>IAD j.B>6B>j.B>j.C>j.236B>j.214B [3801/18%/2500 IG]

  23. I think it'd be a bit less annoying if you could actually fight a 2 bar that has a 2 bar connection. Online is really deceptive that you can fight 2 different people with the same connection, with one being perfect and the other bein at 5 fps.
  24. I guess for people just getting use to Relius, those are ok, but like you said, kills ignis. The standard bnb for 3C>6D>j.B>2C>6C is good because 3C>6D>j.B is a standard blockstring that leads into mixup. Typically you only really wanna use 2D on characters with a good dp in blockstrings, or, if you're like me, on 22BD oki. Also, I'd advise against using 5C on grounded opponents since it almost forces you to need to commit to something expensive or risky due to pushback. There are loops involving 5C that are cheaper though, such as [5C(1)>6D>j.C>665B]x2 into ender of choice.
