  1. Technically it combos, but because of 2S's pushback and 5S's short range the 5S simply whiffs at the ranges where you usually use 2S. It connects at 0 range though.
  2. The fact that JP players used this in footage was just affirmation that this was indeed being used, but it doesn't fully explain my reasoning behind including it. It was really important for me to include the tactic of hiding your reactable overhead behind a cloud of dust animation because it's a very unique tactic and something you don't usually see in other fighting games, and I really wanted to show newbies you can get rewarded for thinking outside of the box, or in this case finding a practical use for the animation on screen. Does the whole section need to be clearer? Yes. Does the Kai/dust cloud tactic need to be completely removed? Regardless of not being used much, I really think it should be kept. To expend even further, correct me if I'm wrong but IIRC, at least in AC, 5S combos to 5H (and then into H fuujin into big damage) normally, hence having good reward on hit, but 2S and 6S, those pokes with the much better range and hitbox, only combo to 5H on either a counter hit, or against a crouching opponent. This leads to a situation where Anji's string ability is not as threatening in neutral as it is in oki with the shitsu's bird ready to hit. Because then you do overhead 3P (bird hits) 2S H and you get a big combo since the opponent crouched. Or you mix it with something like low 2K 2S (bird hits) 5H or 2K 6S (bird hits) 5H and the bird hitting in the middle turns it into a real combo against a standing opponent. (Adding to that, 2K chains to 2S and 6S but NOT to 5S) So if you put this under the analysis of "Anji's normals are designed for big reward in his oki rather than in neutral" the raw data I gave above makes a lot of sense. With other characters, bigger rewards depend on positioning or combo starters, but with Anji the presence of the shitsu alone makes a huge difference. At least that's what I saw when making this episode and I still don't see a problem with it.
  3. Will also add actual examples to the non-safety of Fuujin followups. If someone like DaiAndOh gets the impression that in "safety" I'm only referring to "frames on block" then I really can't know how the newbies understand it... Actually this will be a good time to take a break because I could really use one.
  4. My current Anji to do list is to expend and clarify on Kai, and on the 3 anti-air normals mentioned. These misunderstandings were not from "incorrect" info, just from "not enough" info. Dream Maker DID provide all the info on them but *I* didn't think the little details were that important so the Kai and anti airs are my fuckups as editor, and will be fixed in due time. As for the rest -- how to describe the quality of his oki, and poking, compared to other characters, take it with him in the Anji forum and keep me updated.
  5. 1. Since the inception of fighting games not everyone has played a character the exact same way, so it's even possible to "not fully agree" with a character tutorial. This was bound to happen at some point and it's not the end of the world like you make of it so first of all CHILL. 2. Going on a twitter tantrum and start shitting on everything is not a way to do business, especially when the guy you are shitting on has put in dozens of hours (actually it's probably into the triple digits by now) of hard work into this and you didn't even care enough until you saw something you don't like. 3. mynus, keep your focus on the I-no episode please. 4. Let's put this in perspective- This is the 8th episode out of 25, and all the right buttons were given, right? It's just some of the descriptions and wordings that some people don't agree with, right? (For example calling +1 and +2 "small frame advantages" and putting Kai under Anji's oki -- to be used with a shitsu -- and not his neutral still isn't clear enough in your opinion.) I could start addressing each and every complaint myself but I'd rather you take it with the contributor instead. You have an Anji forum, which is there to share info and discuss how a character should be played, maybe it's a good time to start using it. Guilty Bits is literally dustloop in video form, because other than the Eddie episode which was all mine, all the rest is you guys. Every issue you have with it is a dustloop issue, and you need to sort this out among yourselves and only then come to me. I'm not going to change anything on a whim just because a specific player who disagrees raged on twitter, in the same way that I'm not going to simply change the Potemkin info Circuitous provided if some other Potemkin player suddenly showed up and started giving me shit. You know how thorough I am when making the scripts and how I make sure to ask every question and tackle every issue, so I give all my contributors the same amount of respect back by letting them speak for themselves and never doing anything hasty behind their backs. Some episodes will probably get a 'remastered' version once console +R drops anyway (for example a bit more details in the Eddie episode) so nothing is set in stone but right now it's more important for me to move on to the next characters in line. You sort your shit about Anji in the meanwhile and I'll get back to it on a later date.
  6. Everyone who has an episode in the works other than robo and jam please check and approved the up to date versions of the scripts.
  7. As if GG tutorial vids on the internet begin and end with my already hard-working ass... No one is stopping you from producing the epic 5 hour in-depth Order Sol video tutorial you have always dreamed of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_634712&feature=iv&src_vid=ZSTEXcJqxGM&v=ZSTEXcJqxGM Hell, if you do that I'll even link straight to it from my vid to increase exposure. But a more realistic way to help is to make sure you character's forum section is well organized for newbies who come in and want to learn. Shorter videos get way more exposure, which is something this game needs.
  8. Don't be a pussy and do the right thing! Winners don't use macros.
  9. You should stick to square gate because ignoring the standards makes your life harder. Random scenario- Let's say your stick malfunctions in a middle of a tournament, now you can't just borrow a madcatz or an HRAP from someone and play because you never got used to playing on a square gate. Arcade machines are also square gate, which is why that's the standard for console sticks as well. So play on square gate and remember the golden rule of arcade sticks- It's going to be hard and you'll lose to players you know you could beat with a pad easily, but after 3 months of play when you have done playing catch-up in your skill level it all pays off.
  10. If you don't mind me asking, why octagonal gate? Going against standards always causes problems in the long run so you'd better have a really good reason.
  11. That's it. I'm finally done with all the available scripts. After Stromlocke gets to take care of Robo, only 9 characters will be left to cover. A.B.A Baiken Bridget Dizzy Justice Kliff May Slayer Testament
  12. Been super busy. Only I-no script left and Axl. I'll try to take care of them ASAP.
  13. I hope you are not secretly preparing a PhD research or something... It's should not be longer than 2 pages of text.

  16. Actually you are the only one who didn't write anything yet. To all the rest- Make sure you mentioned in the script the exact name you want to be credited as. All the latest scripts are waiting for your reviews in any case. (Besides Faust and Anji but give me 2 hours from now.) Characters who are still looking for some love: 11 out of 25 A.B.A Baiken Bridget Dizzy I-no Justice Kliff May Robo-Ky Slayer Testament
  17. System guide (in English!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZBY2nfrbns
  18. Just keep the notes in the document and I'll look at them when i get home.
  19. Whoever is missing on the list means that we got all the outside help we needed and the episode will come in time. The characters who are still on the list means they still await some nice experts to come and help.
  20. Left to do list update: A.B.A Anji Axl (stuck at like 70% need help badly) Baiken Bridget Chipp Dizzy Faust (has script & didn't get to check it yet) I-no Justice Kliff May Millia (has script & didn't get to check it yet) Robo-Ky Slayer Testament Zappa (has script & didn't get to check it yet)
  21. To all the people who are helping in the script phase ATM- I'm busy making next week's episode so once it's done I'll get back to the scripts and contact you if needed. Is there a way to contact you directly, as in a chat program like skype?
