There hasn't been any activity in this thread for almost an entire year and with UNIST coming in JP arcades soon, I thought I would post. I heard Carmine is pretty much the same as last version except a few changes. The biggest change being his damage taking a hit with the nerf hammer according to tweets I read. I also wonder if the new chargeable 3C will have any use or has unique properties. I still think standard 3C will be used mostly in play though. I'm thinking charged 3C can be used in combos 3B and you can charge the 3C to knock the opponent in the air to extend/end the combo. The length of the reach is also dependent of the charge so maybe it will make some MUs easier.

Online activity is rather dead. As Icekin said, there are FB groups where you can easily find matches but just hopping on randomly? Lucky to even find one player. Netcode is slightly above average in my opinion. It's not mind blowing like the first P4U or Melty Blood but it's certainly not bad either. Anyways, Under Night In-Birth is a fantastic game and should give it a shot despite the ghost town online community. Besides, I'm pretty sure it's on sale at the moment on the PSN (For NA PSN) if you don't care for owning a physical copy so I recommend picking it up!

So I guess I'll be first to start. I'm having hard time with this Match-Up and Lambda but I learned a few things against Nu. -When she does/charges 214D in blockstrings, Dash in and j.C seems to work. When she does it in corner though, the end of the attack may hit you. Not always. It depends on when you dash in. -Her 5C/2C is a pain. 5C prevents you from dashing in or using 214A to travel while 2C prevents you from jumping in. -I found blockstrings ending with 3C>jc>GreenGaurd very effective. Can bait her DP, 6A(? It's the one where she puts her hands out and has tiny range but is a decent anti-air) and condition her to block low since she'll likely go for a 2D starter. Could land 214B~214D starter. -Just BLOCK when you are in that circle that slows your moving speed down. Only attack if she is in the circle (which will be very unlikely). -Punish her for using using 236D at close ranges. Jump over and punish the forward one or just punish the one that comes behind. Well, that's what I noticed. Anyone else got any ideas involving the match-up?

Fighting games/ why am I lost? Please help.
SoulGuitarist replied to snake2243's topic in Beginner Mode
Should play a game with a solid tutorial. I'm mostly referring to Skullgirls and Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Skullgirls tutorial does a fantastic job at covering the fundamentals of the fighting game genre such as neutral, defense and from what I recall, basic combos, theory as well as ways to manage your meter. As for the character tutorials, they are kinda lacking for competitive play but give you the overall idea how you should play your character and allow you to experiment with various things. GGxrd has a very simple tutorial. Mostly covering basic thing such as movement (Hold forward to walk forward. Hold Back to walk backwards. You are now a pro!) and explains the mechanics exclusive to GG. The Challenge mode though is absolutely FANTASTIC. Gives you some really solid combos that are similar to old JP top level play. After that, you go and see how you use that character in actual matches and go on improving from there. From what I can gather from your post, You seem to understand the fundamentals but lack an idea on how to apply them. That's where grinding out sets come into play. Keep on playing against people and experiment. If you loose and learn something, it's a win. If you loose and not learn anything, it's a loss. The "How to use Training mode" thread is very good like you said. There is a common misconception where most players say "It's about how much time you spend in training mode. The longer you spend, The better you get." That is untrue (At least in my eyes). What matters is the QUALITY of what you learn with the time you spend and understanding on how to actually utilize it. I'm sorry if I completely have the wrong idea and I'm not close to answering you questions (In class right now. I skimmed it and gathered what I could from your post) but keep at it! Another thing to mention though is to have fun! Learning a game competitively becomes much easier when you enjoy the game alot! -
BBCPEX Tournament on June 14th

To be honest, I'm cool with it. There is almost never anyone in East Coast to play with so I'm always forced to play with bad connections (Obviously not anyone's fault. Simply one no one decided to import) I find it ridiculous when you go to a lobby when there is absolutely no one else at all and they won't play you expecting a better connection to come around when they been sitting there for hours. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I would rather play with a person with bad connectivity to me than not playing with anyone at all. I'm not sure if alot of people in your or other players areas imported JP version so this may not apply to some and you guys have an easy time finding stable matches. It certainly applies to us East Coast folk though. Very few from East Coast play (EX at least) -
I been playing around with DID starter. I haven't found anything much yet. I have some theory though. I'll keep you posted! Anyways, these are some things I been working with: (Mid-Screen, Back throw) 4BC > 66 > 5B > 5C > 5D(1) > 214B~214D > 5B > 5C > 5D > 214A~214D 3239 dmg (Mid-Screen to Corner, Front throw) 5BC > 214B~214D > 5B > 5C > 5D > 236D > dash cancel > 623D~236C~214D 3221 dmg (Corner) 5B > 5C > 2C > 623D~236C~236C > 2C > 5D > 236D > 5B > 5C > 5D > 22C > 623C~236C~214D 4012 dmg (Mid-Screen to corner) ~ (This one is troll. Lol) 5B > 5C > 632146D > RC > 66 > 5B > 5C > 5D > 236D > 5B > 5C > 5D> 22C > 623D~236C~214D 5705 dmg (Mid-Screen to corner, OD cancel 100% health) 5B > 5C > OD cancel > 5B > 5C > 214A~214D(OD deactivates) > 5B > 5C > 5D > 236D > dash cancel > 5B > 5C > 5D > 22C > 623D~236C~214D 4664 dmg

Good news to those wanting to play Vampire Savior online! A kind player from the Vsav Facebook Community has began hosting lobbies for players! (All times are EST) Monday-Thursday: 7PM to 9PM Friday: 7PM to 11PM Saturday: 12PM to 4PM He stated that there will be no Sunday lobby since he will likely be asleep. The way it usually works is the some days the lobbies start for Vampire Hunter then switch over to Vampire Savior. Sometimes it's just Hunter. Sometimes it's just Savior. I only played in one of the Savior lobbies so far and... It was amazing seeing a full 8 person lobby. Lololol -
Nice! I got to come out sometime then. Luckily, I'm out of school by the time of the next one so I'll probably show up. Thank you Setra!
-
I know this may be a silly question but I always wondered What is TSB and where is it? Seems like a good bit of you attend and depending where it's at, I want to try to show up to play.
-
Good Stuff! I been too afraid to experiment any combos with j.214C unless 6D>jc>j.C is before it because I always just seem to drive the opponent into the ground without the bounce. I'm going to try to learn this and hope for the best. >.>

Corner, 5080 dmg, requires 25 heat 5B > 3C > 22C > 5AB(CT) > 5C > 5D > 236D > 5B > 5C > 5D > 623D~236C~214D

I think SlothFacts said he might be going. Not sure though. I might be attending as well but highly unlikely.

Some people like it arcade perfect as much as possible. I'm kinda like that too. Lol @Justice456 - I purchased both PS3 & PS4 versions of EX (Both Physical). PS3 version has decent load times if you install the disc. Indeed the sprites look better on PS3 as well but it's kinda hard to notice unless if you're really close to your TV. (My eyesight is pretty poor though). Although not major and will probably be fixed in the upcoming patch, The PS4 ver has a habit of showing connections as 0 and 4 bars while the PS3 gives you the connection number right away. Loading times on PS4 are almost not even there. When you first enter a mode/battle whenever you boot up the game, there will be a very small 3 second loading time. After that, everything will load up almost instantly and you can skip the VS screen right away. In all, I say go with which ever one you want. The main thing I perfer the PS4 one for is the console's built-in recording though.

3328 dmg. Mid-screen to corner. No meter. It's hard to connect the j.214C for the bounce but doable with practice. Very strict timing. Almost frame perfect. 6B > 6A > 6D >jc > j.C > j.214C > 5B > 5C > 5D(1) > 214B~214D > 5B > 5C > 5D > 236D > 623D~236C~214D

RIP Virtual-On I always wanted to play PSO2 before but I don't have a computer. The costumes(?) are pretty cool though. I hope there is more than this but I don't want to get myself excited and be upset in the end.

Corner only. Does 4.8k. Requires 25 heat. 5B>3C>22C>5AB(CT)>5C>5D(1)>214B~214D>5B>5C>5D>236D>623D~236C~214D
