Like I said, that will largely depend on the gap and speed between cancels. After all, the opponent recovers significantly before you on counter hit, so I can't imagine normal hit being much better; at best if the opponent is allowed to guard you can at least start a mixup since you can go overhead or low. Honestly, the only things that could possibly be "safer" at that range would most likely be either Elk or Vault. Though I'm not complaining, considering his range and ability to cancel, giving Sin a good DP would just be nutz lol However fighting other characters with DPs might suck since they'll probably be able to reversal your reversal -

Growing Boy is a Special, so I'm not sure why that was called into question. Real talk, Sin probably won't have many safe options, especially not up close and a blocked anything > Growing Boy will certainly be punishable, so confirming a hit before cancel will be important. Also keep in mind that you are sacrificing oki every time you use Growing Boy so you're basically allowing the opponent to regain footing. This may change once we get to see how RC can be applied, but that just means Sin might end up . . . meter hungry Also I doubt Hawk will be a good option on its own, on raw counter hit the opponent recovers faster than you . . . This was the inconsistency I was talking about, but reviewing footage again, it looks like Hawk's strength actually comes from the hit stun/state of whatever it was canceled off of (ex. Elk causing the opponent to be airborne so canceling into Hawk gave a good lift). As a reversal it will be absolute trash but it will make for good combo filler. It might not be a good starter through, depending on gap and speed of cancels. -

Well, at the very least, PS4 and X1 have native video recording/editing/sharing so this will be less of an issue going forward. -
Visually, there's isn't much to Miguel, but I love his battle style and gameplay [personality wise, he acts like a typical hot blooded Spaniard so . . . meh] That's pretty much how I feel Catalina may roll out [as she will be having an interesting basis for her fighting style] I'm pretty neutral on her appearance, it's far from "bad" but it isn't exactly distinct or memorable [which itself isn't a bad thing, because I don't care for whacky designs for the sake of being distinct]. My main issue on a first impression basis is that she literally looks like a fan edit of Christie lolol Honestly, this is an issue when you have 60+ designs floating around, also foe me Zafina [both in design and gameplay] my favorite addition in T6. And yeah, please get rid of Bounds, like I guess I can tolerate it in T6 but definitely in Tag 2, it just makes the game less interesting the higher you get up in competition. 5DR is still my go-to game for this series. Next month's location test will tell me if I'm going to care for T7; Harada claims to be going back to the series core, yet promises 2 NEW features, the roster is just getting bloated and balance and match ups more difficult to grasp, earlier he claimed that he has interest in featuring Tag play as a standard feature [sort of like DoA does] but if it's like Tag 2 then I want nothing to do with it if the community deems it standard. Despite all this, I'll stay [cautiously] optimistic.

Finally saw charged Beak in action and it appears to actually change the hit properties, seems to [at least] give a small wall bounce similar to uncharged counter hit. Also I was right about Vulture > Aerial Beak for air combo ender; Vulture does indeed appear to just hit/lift and Aerial Beak still blows back similar to ground version. Vault (Jumping) and YRC should add to Sin's utility, especially the former as being able to essentially "jump cancel" any Special could come in handy for mixup as well as safety. I swear Hawk is kind of inconsistent, I mean, since he can cancel his reversal I wasn't expecting it to be super good on its own but I sear I've seen it act differently nearly every time I've seen it lol but I'm not sure if cancel points are playing a factor or if I'm just derping out on noticing the obvious. I'll have to study footage again in the morning = ~= His combos so far look so fun and fluid~ Oh yeah, Throw > RC looks like it might be fun for styling lol -
Not so much terrible as it is uninspired and expected :\ She looks like a Christie edit character lol

Seems we can look forward to 2 more characters and quite a few new stages in Last Round.

I believe you may be misinterpreting the situation; that scene is most likely an argument concerning Elphelt, woh is under Ky [and Sin's] protection from Sol, who is showing a rare lapse in "whatever" attitude into genuine rage [which might be a reoccurring theme considering the clash between him and Sin in that trailer as well]. Ky is likely still the idealist, no doubt doubling his efforts to understand and accept Gears after the poor way he treated Sin [seriously, the Ky and Sin drama is kind of real]. And Ky wasn't so much a "brat" in regards to their rivalry, he just hated being looked down upon by Sol, who pretty much didn't see their competition as such. Deep down they both have respect for each other, there's just no way in hell either would admit to it.

Hawk Baker ------------------- + ①Beak Driver --------------- + (can be held)  → Thrust Like There's No Tomorrow - rapidly press during ①Bull Bash -------------------- + Elk Hunt --------------------- + Jumping ---------------------- + or 'Cause I'm a Growing Boy ----- + Vulture Seeds ---------------- + during a jump Aerial Beak Driver ----------- + during a jump Notes: - Beak Driver can negate projectiles (unsure if this also works with the aerial version or the follow-up) - P ver of Jumping is like a high hop upwards, while the K ver vaults him forwards - Bull Bash hits overhead while Elk Hunt hits low - Captured all(?) but 1 of Growing Boy's items [ironically, the actual slab of meat lol] unsure if this is just a visual effect or if they affect the rate at which Hunger gauge is filled - Pretty much no one was using Aerial Beak Driver or Vulture Seeds, so it was hard get shots for them, unfortunately didn't see either hit but I assuming for aerial exchanges you'll be doing Vulture > Beak if aerial Beak still blows back and Vulture just lifts/hits. - Didn't bother capturing Supers, they seemed distinct and un-needing of demonstration (R.T.L is guidable charge move, Voltic Deign is large projectile). -

Well typically PS+ demos are time restricted rather than content restrictive, often offering you the full title and giving you 2 hours to do as much as possible before "resetting". By the time of release Xrd will only be less than 2 months away, so it's possible to offer a sizeable chunk of the game or just 2hrs of Arcade/Versus play [honestly, allowing Sin and Elphelt on such a restriction could generate more interest]. Of course, that's a typical PS+ demo and we have zero idea how ARC will handle it. -

His 236+HS can nullify projectiles!? Sin is looking better by the minute~ And I can't wait to see what he can get off mid-combo hop + w+ Also, j.6HS(? the circular strike) doesn't look like it gives much guard stun at all. Also Sin mentions having a technique known as "Domestic Blizzard" but I don't see that in his movelist, perhaps his Instant Kill? -
Valkyira Chronicles gushing On to this game's interpretation: Hmm, I'm reminded of why I'm so iffy about this game . . .but most of my interest lies in the care to detail. I love that her stage is stronghold she captured/you fight her in. I know that the Valkyur mode was pretty much the "best" choice, but I feel like they missed out on doing something more interesting with her gameplay wise but they did give her her legendary rifle lol [>.<]. Her teleport looks kind of bad . . . like the up version seems really useless, but maybe the forward version is not so bad. But it's so hard to judge her since she is being played at such a low level :\ Kinda sad they didn't show Alicia more, her grenade toss looks good but wish I could've seen her Valkyur strike from screenshots in action. I did find it interesting that they were playing on a PS3 build, so maybe she is already on disc and not DLC [since they have yet to announce her an Alicia's release details]. I kind of wish this game was willing to explore more character centric systems, because like with the basketball character, I felt like they missed out an interesting opportunity to make a truly unique character. But it's still the best reason, just short of a playable Strawberry Panic character, to play this game for me.

*sigh* That makes sense . . . You always want to flaunt off the lead console and give off the best presentation, but damn would it be nice to see how the PS3 versions will fare. I mean [i have no choice but to] trust ARC but it would be nice to get some reassurance. Maybe they'll bother with a public demo closer to release on both platforms Q.Q -

Elphelt is our day 1 DLC (pre-order/first print to get her for free, otherwise you'll have to cough up that cash). Sin isn't DLC (unless you want fast unlock) but unlike other unlock characters in ARC's past (Mu/Kagura) it seems you can buy him with in-game currency, so he shouldn't take anywhere near as long (as say completing story mode) to get. I don't think we'll see any others until at minimum a month or two after release, I have no doubt that they are already developing more characters (and Leo looks like a strong contender) as I'm sure they are preparing consumer content leading into the next major arcade update (possibly a reason they chose not to bother with any balance updates, arcade or console). -

Typical anime quirk where a character that gets over excited about something intimate gushes blood from their nose, in Elphelt's case the jet stream is so powerful it knocks her off her feet. She seems to be an over the top romantic. -

MadCatz showed interest in having a stick for Xrd right? They could either help bring this stick over or get a deal to make their own stick for North American distribution.
