King of Fighters 98 UM & 2002 UM: Steam Edition
SolxBaiken replied to Vulcan422's topic in Misc Fighter Central
>>Home consoles >>Steam Yeah ok . . . Anyways, this is cool, but I really hate playing games on my PC :\ But I guess I have no choice now . . . Also why does everything have to be a quality comparison, both '98 and '02 represent the best forms of their respective eras. -

That sounds like an awful trade . . . just saying -
Technically, that's not Dizzy's birthday, just the day she was found by/joined the Jellyfish.

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers BB Hood Also, see that Sol is the "groom" on the cake, I wonder if on female characters the position and dolls will be replaced that'd be cool lol -
Ok, just had like 30+ games with LunaKage using Tenga and . . . They seriously need to buff her close range options D: at mid and far ranges she's just fine but once the opponent is in her face she has like 0 "win" options. All she can do is yomi or YOLO into something. Granted Lulu plays fast characters (Marie and Ayane) but still, Tenga should be able to do something to get the opponent off of her and put them back in her comfortable ranges. I kind of wish she had more sabaki actions, cause I like 6+PK since she's counted as crouching and it is a mid but if they're not doing a high then you're kind of s.o.l. Granted, I'm a total scrub [when I could land 236+T I missed my follow up 50% of the time >.<] and she is still new for us console gamers. Guess I'll see how I feel in a month or at TFC.

Yeah, I dunno what you mean by "missing something", Tenga is like a way dirtier Tengu, her unique gimmicks are just so satisfying to pull off and her stuff is pretty easy [100% her trials within 30mins of getting her ] mostly about getting the stance follow up timing right (but nowhere near as suffering as Apa). I still need to get some actual play in with her, but she is a lot of fun to mess around with.

Alright, Tenga is out on PSN. Developing . . .

BlazBlue's cast is largely designed by Mori (with Katoh designing the original trio CP newcomers, Amane being based off of an idea from Sugita). Ishiwatari helped with character concepts in CT but pretty much none of his ideas made it into the final product. The last character design position Ishiwatari held was Hard Corps: Uprising. -

They teased the cinematic for Sin's super in Sony's pre-TGS sizzle reel . . . I'm sad now Q.Q -
From their statement shortly after Marie was announced, yes, we can assume there will be a bundle outside of just buying Last Round. They said they could have waited to finish all the character and release them but wanted to give fans the chance to try them out ASAP. They were very transparent about bundle/Last Round being available later, but they said this would likely be 6+ months later.
-
This was already hinted at when they first announced Marie for consoles, they said that once all the additional characters were done they would have a new release, of course we assumed it to be for just PS3/360 back then. I just want to know if Tenga is going to be the last character? Also if you're talking about the costume DLC, lololol good luck with getting all of that [though why would you want to ]

I think he means with only the PS4 version having access to netplay. Hilarious that you would even make a suggestion like that since they can barely keep up with the PS3 port, so unless Sony Asia or ARC lend a hand, don't see this happening.

Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold Story Thread (spoilers)

Re: main character personalities They can take and give whenever they so choose, honestly the idea of a "silent protagonist" is outdated and never really held water for justification. But in the past, looking at both of the P2 games, the protagonist for each game (Tatsuya and Maya) appears in the others with their own personality and motives while being regulated to the "silent protagonist" role in their own game. And realistically, your "actions" are superficial at best, the protagonist always has a "personality" you can't actually deviate from. That being said . . . -

FUK YEAH HE DID! FLICK DAT SHI! -
Daisuke Ishiwatari worked on the original Last Blade, true, he didn't do anything nearly as glamorous as his roles over at ARC (pretty sure he did concept art and worked on backgrounds) but as you said he was still pretty green at the time. Also, relating to an earlier post, A2 and MI3 were the same project. A2 was originally to be a moderate update but it was withheld in order to helm a full sequel which was halted due to development on XII taking up the entire staff. I'll never understand the contempt for XII, I mean, outside of being a more basic and simplistic game, there was nothing wrong with it, but people are so hard to please nowadays lol. And in relation to the next story arc, XIII single handedly screwed up the KoF continuity, and that was BEFORE the ending essentially erased the entire Ash saga. There are still plenty of sub plots to pick up (like the stuff involving the Ron/Lon family) but as far as main story goes, I really do hope they finish out MI's story. But only if Falcoon returns, because MI without him is just . . . odd lol. But assuming they are kept separate, the new flagship arc can literally go anywhere.
-
Nah, this is based on NSoC 1.03 I believe, not 2.0, so just changes to the already included cast. But at least this means consumers will only be 1 version behind instead of the like 3 previously I like Vein's new normals, but I still need to find the best uses for them. It's too bad there was no netplay added still, but it makes me wonder, are they just going to update this release (maybe DLC patch, I doubt they'll give away the new characters for free, but I need Lupinus in my life lol) or are we getting, maybe, hopefully a new release that is netplay enabled?

Yep, yep, my PS3 downloaded it last night~ brb~

2? The only canceled Maximum Impact game that is publicly know is MI3, which was speculated to be canceled due to the development of KoF XII. The North American localization of Reg A on PS2 was canceled most likely for similar reasons and less than desirable sales projections. Falcoon even stated that reason that the Ash saga began to bleed into MI was due to the fact at one point MI was going to be converted into the next flagship title. As I sated before and Caiooa reiterated upon, trademark filings don't mean much on their own as companies fill out dozens, some of which never see the light of day. This are most likely brand renewals but may also lead into renewed interest in projects as well [realistically I'd expect the Last Blade to maybe see a new pachislot game, as those bank in alot of money. Also, interesting tidbit, none of the titles featured in the numerous fillings have been featured in SNK's Rhythm of Fighters title, so they may be re-licensing in order to re-lease soundtracks].

As usual, my words are being misinterpreted. By "limit" I mean, if you are given the entire Pokemon license to play with, why would you be so short sighted? This is a game for the fans, so you want to reach as many of them as possible, this includes your selection and how you handle that source material. No doubt a Fighting type only game would be diverse, but there is no reason to needlessly narrow your scope like that. Heck, just look at the broad spectrum of Pokemon selection in the Smash series.
-
I dunno, as much sense as a strictly all Fighting type game would make, why limit yourself when dealing with one of the biggest franchises of all time?
-
Yeah you're right, that's why Raichu, Wigglytuff, Blastoise, and Venesaur were so popular in Smash . . . Oh, wait . . . I get where you're coming from, but I wouldn't rule out a basic/1st stage Pokemon just because of that.
-
There are actually quite a few Pokemon games already in arcades (spin-offs, like Trozzei and Medal League, of course) and game centers/arcades are still wildly active in Japan, plus fighters are pretty much guaranteed continued revenue by their coin-op nature. So this hitting arcades is pretty much a no brainer. Also how does not having an evolution make a Pokemon suddenly worthless, Agni? As far as roster is concerned, I imagine it will be a pretty simple process of elimination. For example, if they were to include a bird Pokemon, we can cut down a large number of creatures and look at say the 3 most publicly liked ones and make a choice from their. Also viability for this type of game will likely be a factor, so something like a Diglett probably isn't high on the list. And of course you have instantly marketable favorites that are pretty much guaranteed in. At the end of the day, I think they'll go for quantity of quality, which plays into wanting to make this less technically focused, and [at least from the vid we have] the models don't seem that high quality. So I think we'll see a good 30~50 characters by the time the console version releases.

Important excerpt from Siliconera: So I'm guessing they're going for simple controls and low execution barriers with more flash than substance. Should've just went to CC2 then
