  1. I feel the same way; would be great if someone could explain the difference for us. (You have the Wii version of AC? I hope to high heaven you have a stick, or a classic controller lol)
  2. Great info guys. Now how about getting out of his tick throw mixup in the corner into Sidewinder loop? It's so demoralizing when I fall for it, and get looped. When it happened to me at the tourney I'd used my burst already...and the rest was history
  3. Just came from a tourney yesterday. Siderwinder loop ruined me out of contention. I can't deal with that GF FRC -> BB -> mixup bullshit. 6P barely (read: never) beats BB; 9 times out of ten I clash, lose and I get with some jump installed move that I don't know...
  4. Thanks A3. Next time Chaz is having a meeting please let me know; PM me through here as I check it religiously daily. Back to topic: Jo, those were some great matches. Pity about PO though; Potemkin Buster FTL Do you play stick only or was that some Pad awesomeness?
  5. This is great guys; thanks so much for playing along lol. I pretty much agree with everyone's thoughts; BLEED is the standard that all JOs should learn from, DC shows us that coinless JO is certainly not worthless, Omito, Hiro and Suzume are amazing... Now, how about us Western JOs? The only ones I have seen vids of are 4r5, A3 and kenmastersx. I know we're not given much respect in the west as JO players but I think we have great talent here. Hopefully we'll start seeing more vids of US JOs; I plan on finding a way for me to record my casuals very soon.
  6. Hiro!! Totally forgot about him; mostly because there's only like 2 vids out there of him that I've seen. He's great; If I'm not mistaken I think I saw him OCV a team of SL, ED and BA! Gotta keep an eye out for him definitely. render, I totally agree with you, which is why I brought this issue up. Seeing the way other JO players play him is very awe inspiring, and not to be biased but I think the differences in his playstyle among JO players stand out more than say, the myriad Sol Badguys out there ("teyah!!!!") At first I wanted to make a thread devoted to JO players but since they are related to the vids we watch I thought I'd post here first. If 4r5 or Redbeard don't mind us talking about it here that's cool but I'd like to hear input from them first before I make a new thread for this discussion.
  7. Thanks render; post edited to reflect my corrections.
  8. So by now I've seen my fair share of AC JO vids, and there seems to be some really great Johnny players on the scene. I'm curious to know what you guys think about them, and who you consider to be the best Johnny right now. Here are the one's I've seen: BLEED: To me, he is the best right now. Excellent pacing, zoning and AA defense, and has the ability to turn a match around at any point (for proof, youtube "best comeback by BLEED" and you'll see what I mean Kabegawia no DC: Very agressive JO, tends to spam the coins in his rushdown, but has shown that JO can be a force to be reckoned with coins or no coins. Jonio: He does things I haven't seen the other Johnnys do (Slashback Eddie "unblockables", Mist loop using Enkasu in the corner). He has great potential. I just wish I followed the Japanese scene better so I knew where he ranked, but since I can't read moonspeak it's tough. Omito: He is the only JO I've seen so far to win against a PO. Granted I probably haven't seen enough JO vids, but he was definitely the first. To me he's very patient, methodical, coin-conservative but once he gets that opening, it's going to fucking hurt. I once saw him do a combo on a BA that pretty much took off 3/4 of her health. Ouch. MK: Very few vids of him, but he seems to know his stuff. Can't really tell what sticks out in his game, but I see him win. Tends to fight SL often, with results that you could probably bet on Suzume: Seriously, what the hell happened to this guy? There are probably only 2 AC vids of him,but he is GOOD. His MCing and pressure strings are godlike; and that vid of him where he murders an ABA after cranking up her Guard Guage with MC pressure was poetry in motion. If anyone knows what happened to him please tell; I think he could very well be at BLEED's level. That's it so far. Really interested in hearing what you guys think. If I got my facts mixed up please let me know; I'm not the best JO evaluator. Thanks.
  9. I think I'll definitely be down for this!
  10. I believe what he means is that he can beat his friends with Johnny against their broken characters (Slayer, Testa, Eddie). But anyway; Jin and Xaph are correct. The mist makes Mist Finer unblockable. BRAVO DA ZE!!!!!
  11. Can you throw Millia out of her roll? If you see it coming that is...
  12. Other thank 6K and Dust, what are her other standing overheads that must be blocked high? I need to know her blockstrings and how I should react to them.
  13. A player in my group has just started playing Chipp; he's not 100% with him yet but he gets the basics. Here's my assessment so far. Bait the teleports. If you can tell that he's about to appear in front of you, use 2S and air combo. Watch out for Alpha Blade crossup. When blocking, FD to create space. The spear summon is very helpful against his IADs, combined with 2 backdashes from you to bait and punish him. Set up bubbles when you can. And for the love of all that is holy DO NOT meaty him with a poke, lest you find yourself with his wakeup Maximum Spider. As I get better with Dizzy and he gets better with Chipp I'll chip in more (pun intended).
  14. A3 are you sure that 5K stuffs Mappa all day? I've recentley had some Slayer fights and I can remember that most times I used it I ate a CH... ' (off topic: is your avatar a female Johnny? If so...that's hot. Where'd you find the pic?)
  15. LAWL God I should have known that. Cheesestick...you gamers and your silly nicknames. What are some good tactics for getting a KD on ABA in Moroha mode sans Enkasu combo? I can't quite land an Enkasu on her 100% yet...
  16. Thanks Moroha; really appreciate the advice as this is a matchup I have quite some difficulty with. Sorry if this is a noobish question, but what exactly is the Cheesestick?
  17. I figure this thread would be the best one to ask this: How can I record match videos using a laptop/macbook/etc?

  19. If he ever backdashes at the start of the round, Icespike. The Zappa I playtends to do this, in order to get room to summon. However ZA's backdash does NOT avoid Icespike, so you can score a KD and begin oki-mixup games. More on this matchup later as my Zappa player improves his game.
  20. Really? I never played Reload Dizzy. Interesting! But no, I'm pretty sure a well-timed 2K will interrupt Dandy-steps; to get KD out of it though you need to combo. But 2D can definitely be put in its place and work the same way; probably better as you get instant KD and can commence the infamous Dizzy oki
  21. Hmmm, I think I'll start the discussion of this matchup with a psuedo-haiku. If you are amused, feel free to toss advice about this matchup. 'Cause I need some Venom has balls, Dizzy has fish; Screen full of lulz.
  22. Wanna know the best way to piss off a Slayer? 2K his Dandies into Icespike KD. Works like a charm (when timed correctly of course!)
  23. I recommend using MFU Lvl whatever on reaction to Faust getting on the pogo. Quite effective. Or you can coin him off it for the lulz you will typically get as the Faust player curses you out :bad: Hard match though...I have a problem getting in as the Faust I play is very good at zoning. I also need to learn to see his flaming punch overhead attack; it gets me every time. Oh, and OTG Scalpel Enema is just downright humiliating...unless you choose right and it backfires on him, heh. What JO poke can best get him out of FA pressure?
  24. Is there anything JO can do to punish a Robo's whiffed 2HS tensionless?
  25. Thanks guys. I will definitely take the tips, and invest in a stick at some point. Out of curiosity, what's everyone doing in training mode these days (those of you Johnnys who do that regularly)? In addition to nailing my FRCs I'm trying to get my blockstrings down, and working on being able to consistently TK Ensenga. The group I play with loves to block low, and throwing a TK Ensenga in my pressure could be a nice, consistent surprise.
