  1. I don't think he would disagree. At no point did he claim that 1f jumping is a get-out-of-jail-free card. :/ EDIT: Also what Circ said
  2. 10/12/2012 Tonaibou Sega Singles ??? (AN) vs. ??? (AX) ??? (FA) vs. ??? (AX)
  3. Renkon is a Justice player that has shown up a lot in Mikado videos. I dunno that anyone's particularly good with her yet, given that she's new and not as easy-mode as Kliff, but if anyone's worth watching, it's probably Renkon.
  4. Dude, I will totally play GG with you. There should be a GG station set up for a good portion of the day, so if you show up we can get some matches in. I'll be the college-prep-looking white guy playing anime games. EDIT: Hey, so I have this game called Yomi. It's a card game designed by David Sirlin that's supposed to simulate a fighting game, and I think it does it pretty well. Would anyone have any interest in playing it at Console Combat? The game set is kind of bulky so I want to know if anyone will actually play with me before I lug it out.
  5. 10/5/2012 Gamechariot Matches Ojima (KL) vs Touji (AX) Jigoku Ningyo (ZA) vs Touji (AX) Jigoku Ningyo (ZA) vs Touji (AX) Ojima (FA) vs. Touji (AX)
  6. I figure the only thing to do is to announce that there'll be a GG side tourney and hope we get a bracket's worth, and if we don't, well, it's not like we actually expected to.
  7. Why not AC? http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?9940-GGXX-Accent-Core-now-(actually)-playable-online-coming-soon-to-XBL-PSN!
  8. Hey Kamui, do you want me to bring my PS2 and a copy of AC?
  9. I can't speak to why they didn't bring back his pre-AC 6H, but Anji's autoguard capabilities are up quite a bit from vanilla AC: 6S, 5D, 3S, and FB Rin all got their AG frames increased. Also 6H can now be canceled into specials, which is a huge buff.
  10. Oh, God, no! Not tier list discussion!
  11. Doesn't look like the game's been slowed down, thankfully. Overheads being slower kind of sucks, but it's not like they were massive decrements.
  12. Cool beans. Hope to see you there! Also, P4A starts at 2:30, so as long as you start catching buses at like noon you should be there with plenty of time left over (and it gets even easier if you have a car).
  13. Ooh! Tell us a story, Grandpa Circuitous!
  14. Wait, what? How would anyone conclude that a faster game means easier blocking in the first place?
  15. Well I think we know what you have to do then. Hmmm...what JP players would come out to the dead of the Midwest for a 20-ish-person tournament? Kaqn?
  16. Probably? At least maybe. As far as I know Dustloop don't have a dedicated thread for it so you'll have to poke around a bit, but there are a couple of places you can ask: 1) Your appropriate match finder thread in the P4A Online Play subforum; 2) Your character's subforum.
  17. 14's, what, 40% of what a GG EVO side tourney gets these days? So basically your ranbats are more than a third the size of EVO.
  18. In Soulcalibur IV, I played Seong Mi-Na. She was the second-worst character in a pretty unbalanced game, and playing as her was fun but miserable. I swore I'd never let it happen again. In Soulcalibur V, Seong Mi-Na left and the only character that looked fun to play was Z.W.E.I. He, too, is a terrible character. After August's Console Combat, I actually just kind of dropped Soulcalibur V out of frustration and swore I'd never let it happen again. So long story short I think I'm having more fun playing Labrys than Aigis in P4A. It's two weeks before the next Console Combat, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up switching to a much worse character with almost no time to practice, and I could not be more furious with myself. Anyway Kamui, I'll totally play GG if you run it.
  19. brb taking every spot on the Ragna leaderboard simultaneously
  20. Oh dang, you guys got a good number of people together! Wish Arcade Legacy wasn't so far from Case Western.
  21. So, I don't actually recommend diving headfirst into matches. Take a few days, maybe a week or so, and only ever play in Training Mode. The first things you should practice are your pokes and your combos, but there's some other stuff you should check out too: take a look at my Training Mode guide for tips on how to practice attacks, combos, and more as effectively as possible. After you've done that, it's time to take your experience to the ring! Unfortunately, if you're anything like me, you'll immediately find that you're suddenly too nervous to do combos and you'll just spaz out and lose. This is, I think, natural! It's just your nerves. From here on out, you ought to be splitting your time between repping your combos, pressure, etc. in Training Mode and learning how to apply them in actual matches. After your nerves have calmed down, you feel more or less in control of your character, and you can do your character's B&Bs without having to think too much, start analyzing how you move. Movement is actually pretty complicated in airdash fighters; I don't know if you're coming from SF-style games or not, but even if you aren't, this guide is pretty much all about how to play footsies in GG/P4A/BBCS:EX. Also, watch lots and lots of videos.
  22. A bunch of AGF casuals from Mikado: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19068946 Check out the sweet combo vs. Samitto right at the end!
  23. So, what's the actual deal with the FB stun combo? Is it a guaranteed insta-stun or does it only work on sufficiently hurt opponents?
  24. 10/5/2012 a-cho 255 Ranbat ??? (AX) vs. ??? (SL)
