I dunno if there is any atm, but I don't think it would be hard to write (if you know how to code).

Its not a big ban like, you won't show up ever. But if they go for the brackets and put a BYE in there, its not so nice. Kinda sportsmanship lacking; if you want that to happen the next tournament by all means, allow him.

Noone has to know everything about everything, if everyone knew everything this forum wouldn't be necessary. And to summarize the rest of what you said: He's asking you whether you have any sources of information with an actual nametag on it. And you don't, you even admit you don't by saying something amongst the lines of: "LOL, wikis are anonymous, there's no way to tell!! But they really do!!! You're a fool, please stop!!!" What you could do is look for other GG wikis, since if you got like 5 without discussion on them it seems a lot more likely, or for example if you got several GG forums where tiers are also no longer debated it also becomes more likely. But despite it being likely it could still be wrong, hence a nametag has been asked before. You could also just say its your own personal opinion and you concluded it from that wiki.

Essential would mean its required for you to win, which is false. Your outcome is not dependent on whether you pulled a dustloop or not. Of course you should get the maximum damage output for a setup in any given situation, but you're not required to enforce those specific setups and then successfully convert them to a dustloop. Not to mention that higher level opponents generally avoid the situations where they can actually eat a dustloop. This was also one of the reasons why Sol wasn't any higher on the tierlist than he was. If he'd be able to dustloop back then like he could sidewinderloop now he'd almost be on par with Eddie.

fixed.

Not fundamental, but a good to know. You can live without a dustloop and still win matches. Its not really that similar to playing him without a sidewinder loop; a sidewinder loop is screen positioning independent while a dustloop requires a corner. While there were players in #R that would try to force their opponent into the corner, there were also plenty such as 012 and P.C that took the game for what it was and relied on simple midscreen combos. So playing without a dustloop back then was quite viable, in current days however, since the damage has become more consistent for each character and is also higher than #R a sidewinder loop is pretty much the way to go.

For starters: don't run multiple tournaments at the same time, you'll just get planning issues and a very big chance someone will not be present at your tournament while he should be. That said, I like the random pools round robin + top-8/16/32/64/... single elimination format. All matches decided by one game. The reason I like it is because it allows people to be more creative rather then relying purely on endurance. With those kind of rules tournament progression goes really fast and if people are on time when the tournament starts they're generally there during the whole tournament(less likely required to skip out to get drinks or food). If you got a lot of people you could have a break, or set times when certain pools will start and when the brackets will start so entrants can plan accordingly. Also, don't mix more pools than TVs, so say you have 4 TVs and 8 pools, launch only 4 pools at the same time, and not 8. Doing otherwise tends to just create confusion. Next to that don't go beyond 8 player pools. Rules for DQ imo would be: -anyone cheating, -anyone leaving during brackets or his own pool phase, -anyone interrupting the contestant that's playing by fiddling with his chair or screaming into his ear for example, -anyone not on time for his own pool phase or for the bracket phase unless he has a valid reason not too. Generally valid reasons are the bathroom(unless you want him to puke, piss and/or shit all over your tournament set), or getting delayed by a 3rd party(such as slow shop assistance). If a player gets himself disqualified, his opponents get a BYE in their favor instead, including in brackets. Anyone DQed should not be allowed to compete in the next tournament. Presence of hardware other than TVs, PS2s/PS3s, controllers, chairs and tables is not required imo. Recordings and such are nice features, but they don't define a tournament. Also, I'd consider a tournament major if it has at least a 16-man bracket filled with high-level players.

Nice OCV there WUT.

Yeah, just like how Ogawa didn't get beat once during that SBO the day before :P Not to mention that KZO has actually the best SBO record for OS(still) being 3 wins and 3 losses despite not being present this time. Kaqn has a lot to make up for, Sanma just took his first loss like that:P and 0 is the most likely one to get a better record than KZO. And if KZO was using such one timer tactics we'd have a lot of idiots in SBO falling for it over and over again:rolleyes:

For the convincing manner he beat Ogawa he deserves a honorable mention. Don't forget that people in Japan have to deal with uppercut spamming noobs every day of the week so KZO definitely did have something special to make him win that match.

First of all, you can't build a tierlist around non-serious players. The top level is generally serious about how they play and they tend to be best in detecting actual game balance. So how often do we see bottom tiers beat top tiers? Often enough, just look at SBO where not a single S tier character made it to the final, the highest was A tier Slayer, B tier May and B tier Venom. Not to mention that there was in fact a D tier present there. Don't forget there's also a plentiful of very good players we don't even get to see because their matches aren't getting recorded. People barely see KZO for example, but he was able to kick Ogawa's ass as if Ogawa was just a noob during the 23on23 the last year. Another example would be Ruu beasting during the 23on23.

Its probable that your HDTV only supports 50Hz then, and if you record through your HDTV you will have issues. If possible try to hook up the ps2 directly to the recording device, and use the output of the recording device on your TV, or get a 60Hz TV:P Oh, and most recording devices are able to convert NTSC into PAL on your TV screen, you might get some timing issues, but it should be alright.

Don't jump or move towards Slayer unless he's coming for you. Anything else is pretty much a fool's errant. Most Slayer players like to sit back and wait for OS to make a move, that way Slayer can use his range advantage best. So if you don't move towards him, he'll have to close the gap himself resulting in some sort of 'rushdown' which is what OS is good at dealing with. Also, Slayer's 2H has more range than your 5S(f) so I suggest using Ri instead. Your preferred level will always be level 3 because it does a lot of damage and is very easy to obtain against Slayers, especially if they want you to come for them. Euhm, his j.H air... I played Slayer myself for a bit, the only reason you'd try to land that one is because you're fishing for a CH. On normal hit or guard its very easy to get thrown out of your followup. Doing j.H very late makes you very prone to AAs(more so than with OS's version). I think it depends a lot on what moment you catch him and what his timing is. If you spot his jump early you can just GB and if he pushed a button, he eats it for CH which means dustloop for you, your own 5H should also work well at that point. If you spot his jump later or are unable to respond to it quickly for some reason, and he's j.Hing early you'll have to either guard or SV it; after guarding you usually get a free throw. If you're late and he does late j.H you might be able to use 5S-H into sj combo or iad combo, but I'm not sure about that. "SF Lv2 is also a great tool in this fight." l2SF is a great tool in any fight:P JO matchup isn't anything like the Slayer matchup. The dominant difference is that Johnny has a spacing distance where he can freely attack OS, while OS isn't able to even reach him(this includes his SV). There's little reason for Johnny to actually get closer and get into OS's range since most of his stuff works from outside that range anyways. Slayer on the other hand actually does have to cross a line where OS can immediately attack him.

Didn't ctrl+z work for ya?
-
Actually, that is very likely to happen. I think the game tends to see 6236 as a dragon punch in some cases(its rather ambiguous for the tests I did). I'm not sure what your requirements are, but for late, faultydefense's half circle would work. For early you might try 236956H, if you want a normal jump version with that you'll have to hold the 2 for a while so it skips the sj input.
-
That can happen to anyone really, its kinda your own thing to deal with that; I'm a total autopilot when I'm tired:P There is way around FD yeah, but that usually involves not attacking in the first place. And that means you get some room to work with, which allows you to: mash out more easily;) and allows you to jump out or backdash to create more space. Well, a lot... nearly every hole which is kinda asking for serious trouble, especially since you're playing Johnny. My question was, why just do it and risk whiff punishment instead of holding it [l1PMF] and only releasing when you actually confirm he's having a go at you? Its not about you punishing them, its about not being hit in the first place. If you can (or are practicing to) slashback then that's fine, but usually I see some move out there trying to stuff I-no's overdrives. Getting hit by them like the way you were is kinda throwing away your lifebar for no reason at all. My sparring partners? Some guys that don't post here at all. One plays Eddie, the other plays Dizzy, I kick both their asses, though they are getting better:P
-
He's doing MFJH so he can follow up. A3Religion: if you want to mash your way out, at least use something your opponent has to block, like an OD. You should also FD more to get out of pressure. Also, why PMF at random? You could just as easily hold it, confirm where your opponent is and attack him proper or cancel it if your opponent is taking actions against it. Also, in 1 match vs I-no you ate pretty much every overdrive thrown at you... just bait that shit. If I-no dashes at you like some idiot its probably for an OD which you fell for so nicely every time.
-
That's not so much an issue of FDing rather than not paying attention to what your opponent is actually doing.
-
Don't upload stuff with J-pop or J-rock on em. Most metal stuff they won't bother about. You could always head towards dailymotion or something:P

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1895842 <--- I thought the name Mekemeke was familliar, guess I was right, it is familliar:P If you see him again, can you ask him how KZO manages to get the best SBO win-loss record for OS and not show up the latest SBO at all? cuz that has been kinda bugging me.
-
Looks asif the framerate is wrong, check and make sure its actually running at 30fps. For mixups on Axl, just set the character on block and playback him in neutral and you'll get the proper effect.
-
But to prevent fuzzy guard Sol IGs when he gets up:P The Throw rj.H-D, dj.H-D, S sj.S-H-D,dj.(H-)D(, BRP) combo is impossible due to knockback issues.
-
muhahaha:P Though this part I was looking for moreover: Are all her AAs dj punishable? Which normals should she whiff for you to get in? Are there any whiffs fafnir punishable? I know, I know:P Though with some characters its more annoying than others(Eddie for example), though I'm wondering if there would be any reason for A.B.A not to try to push you out all the time.
-
Realistically, how is this going to work? If your opponent can just push you out regardless whether you come in by ground or by air how is jump FD and FD brakes going to work? Especially in mohora mode :S Oh and if SV is used to skim A.B.A pokes on CH it will be only one hit and it will knock down.
