Anyone want to get together and watch the new BB anime episode subbed tonight? (Assuming it's out by then.)
-
Ooooh, I need people to help me clear a boss in Tales of Graces f. I'll keep that in mind.
-
Btw, Ryan/Simond, you guys wanna play through some more Hamnesia this weekend if you're around? I was reading Ted the Caver and it put me in the mood for some Hamnesia, lol. (Also, ironically, I'm curious to try caving / spelunking now. :P)

Hey Zeron. People have actually been playing BlazBlue at casuals recently.
-
I had a BLAST at Hamilton! :D Shoutouts to Bill / BillDing for coming with us! (btw, did I just pass by you at a bus stop?) Shoutouts to Ryan for really intense sets in Persona WF / GF (Ryan won x2) and in Melee LF (I won)! Shoutouts to Trademark and Johnny for the GGs in Divekick! So we met a couple of KW players -- Trademark and Johnny -- who play Divekick / Marvel / Persona / ??. I PM'd the Mainbase address to Johnny. Hopefully they can come by sometime. Definitely want to get more Divekick matches in, including with more chars. Lastly, I pulled kind of a scumbag move in Melee: after I beat Ryan on our last stocks, I GTFO'd to go get a salty runback with Johnny (who had to leave and was waiting) in Divekick, telling them to DQ me. (I lost to the tourney winner earlier in the bracket.) Even though I could get a runback at Mainbase later. In retrospect, I feel bad for leaving the spectators hanging. But, I don't regret it: I got to play a fun, satisfying set in Divekick rather than a frustrating set in Melee, where I would've been handicapped by my lack of tech skill. :p

I'll just repost what I wrote on Twitter:

Hope you'll be able to make it out to casuals more often, Darnell! So there are 2 tournies coming up in the next 2 weeks. Naturally I'm hoping to go to both. Maybe I should actually prepare for them, lol. :P https://www.facebook.com/events/526344757450142 - SCSS in Hamilton this Saturday. FREE venue fee. Just about every game is scheduled to run, lol. http://torontotoptiers.com/site-news/canada-east-coast-championships-oct-19th-20th/ - CECC in 2 weeks.

From http://homingcancel.com/arcana-heart-3-general-discussion/ah3lm-match-vids/msg41141/#msg41141 This is an AH3LM 3on3 team tourney held just before the big Examu Cup tournament. Even watching the first round matches, I'm impressed by some of these players' tech. :O

Anyone gonna be playing games at Mainbase tonight?
-
I dunno, I think the guy running the stream ripped it off, lol. But then the new commentators who got on were really boring. I'd link people to the archives but you can't view them without a Canada Cup subscription. However, someone recorded and uploaded this: Drunk Mago gets on commentary with drunk Gootecks and PR Balrog :D This was hilarious! Make sure you watch it before it gets taken down for copyright infringement or something!

http://www.twitch.tv/canadacup2 looool, drunk SSF4AE exhibition matches. I've heard Lapchi is unbeatable at these. Initially the other player gets a win streak, but as they get more drunk Lapchi wins more and more games! At the moment they're running Lapchi (Blank) vs Fuudo (Ryu) (first to 7, I think?). After every match, both players have to drink a Jaegerbomb. Lapchi just BARELY won a match so it's 6-4 Fuudo right now, but they've already drunk NINE Jaegerbombs each! After his 10th drink, Lapchi looks just fine, but Fuudo looks like he might throw up while trying to drink his 10th one! They even brought a puke bucket over! He hasn't decided if he's going to try to finish this drink or give up! LOL! Edit: FUUDO GIVES UP! LAPCHI WINS! And Lapchi takes his victory in style by finishing off the rest of Fuudo's drink for him, lol! ... Fuudo just took the puke bucket with him outside, hahaha. Edit 2: Lapchi just said Fuudo is hailed as the best drinker in the Japanese FGC, and Lapchi is the best drinker in Canada's FGC. :P Edit 3: LOOOL, that annoying commentator from grand finals just got KICKED OFF COMMENTARY and even HAD HIS HEADSET RIPPED OFF because he made some inappropriate comments and F-Champ exposed him! :D

Getting a drive to Mainbase with Ryan. We only have PS3s, although Ryan might bring his laptop for Skullgirls/Divekick(/A&C World Warrior?)/Mario 64/Canada Cup stream.
-
Who's going to Mainbase today? I'm thinking of heading over this evening and grabbing food on the way. Will have to leave around 9-10 pm, tho.
-
Apparently A&C World has their own fighting game. :O http://acgamesonline.com/acworldwarriors/ Anyone wanna try this out at Mainbase?
-
Hey Adsf. Did you come here from UWGamers, or...? o.O
-
AH3 should be in main games, not poverty! And you forgot Skullgirls, lol. Actually, if I were to make a games list for MAIN BASE players... (edit: simplifying lists...) We play most often: BB, GG, P4A, MBCC, AH3, UMvC3, Skullgirls, Divekick. We also have players interested in: SSF4AE, 3s, HnK, Aquapazza, CvS2, and various poverty games (EFZ, etc.)

Evo 2013 was incredible. I think it'd take me at least an hour to write my shout-outs posts 'cause I met and talked to so many new and cool people over the weekend. Lots of good times playing and watching P4A and going to Chipotle's and Outback Steakhouse! Anyway, all of the matches I recorded over the weekend (all P4A) are up on my Youtube channel. The only pool footage I took was from pools a31 and b31. There's also some footage from semis and the 4 Kumite sets. If you haven't seen DIE-chan vs Chosen Ninja in the Kumite yet, you can check it out here. http://www.youtube.com/user/Bill307fighting/videos By the way, I have a Twitter account (@Bill307_ca), but I haven't used it for anything yet. :P

(Disclaimer: I don't remember challenge 27.) I suggest learning the AoA follow-up first. It's simple, and once you can do it, challenge 27 whatever it is should be a lot easier to figure out. Also, I can be useful this way. :P After doing AoA and the Fatal Counter C-launch, do the following: - hold up asap after pressing C - press j.A early while you're still below them - wait until j.A finishes - wait a little bit more - j.B j.A (2 hits) double-jump j.A (4 hits) - end with j.B j.D or j.236A and/or a super You've got to link j.B after j.A finishes, but you've also got to time everything before that so that you use j.B while Teddie is falling and while the opponent is higher than him.

Hype restored. RyanKen and I will be there for P4U.

Did pre-reg end already? I read it would end at 11:59 PST (2:59 EST) tonight, and it's only 10:11 PST (1:11 EST). Thought I could wait until I got home before pre-regging tonight. If I can't pre-reg now, is there any way to guarantee I'll be in the P4 bracket? (Preferably guarantee it now/Sunday so that I know whether or not to cancel other bookings.) I'll be arriving on Friday.

Yesterday I learned how to be a scrubby Slayer: if close to opponent, do random move or dash-up throw else choose from 236K, jump-in, or wait Perhaps I should learn some real combos besides Gold Burst, BBU BBU BBU BBU. :P Btw, P4U gave me the netplay title Permanent 2nd Place orz

I'm not sure if he has any bad matchups, but personally, I dislike fighting Yousuke: his speed and movement options let him get in on Teddie more easily than any other character. If the Yousuke player can do the fastfall technique very fast, then imo it's very hard to keep him out. Also, his 2B prevents Teddie from using IADs in pressure strings: it always wins. (It's possible to bait this with a normal jump, though.) Lastly, he's one of the 3 characters that can't be safe-jumped. Chie can also be difficult but she's slower, she can't always use her oki setup, and she can be safe-jumped, so even though she's higher tier I'm not sure if she's a harder matchup than Yousuke. I don't have a lot of experience against Mitsuru or Aigis but I imagine they'll be two of his harder matchups for the same reasons they're good against everyone else: 5A and Orgia. Well, maybe not so much Aigis 'cause when Teddie is at 5B range, she can't enter Orgia, she can't use the Persona shield, and she can't use 2B (easy to punish with roll). I don't know if Teddie has a good answer to Mitsuru's 5A and her pressure when he's cornered. At most ranges she can snipe Teddie's Persona with 5D whenever he throws an item. I think 22B has a lot of untapped potential in that matchup since afaict it ducks under most/all of Mitsuru's attacks except 2A and 2A+B (and iirc Psyken hit it with AoA somehow). In particular, it avoids throws, 5B, 5, and instant overhead j.B.

Looks cool, but I would expect most opponents to tech forwards or backwards or delay their tech until they're on the ground. And if they do tech in the air, they will most likely double-jump or airdash to avoid your 2B. I think it'll be rare for an opponent to tech and fall straight down like that, unless they think they can punish you. I guess if you've accidentally dropped the combo then it might be worth a shot. But first I'd want to know: - if they attack on the way down after a neutral tech, will they hit you out of roll start-up? - if they tech backwards, will they still get crossed up? if not, and they block the explosion, who's at advantage?
