  1. I never heard about this tourney. D: Oh wait, is it Nemesis? Didn't know it was this weekend. :< All the more reason I should give it a shot!
  2. First real snowstorm and I have to drive tonight. Frick. Anything happening this Sat? Might be able to pop in and get in some CSEX. I also want to give Kof XIII a shot since it's said to be a passable fighter.
  3. Oh shiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeet, ft10 w/Chin. :D 'course we know the Haku, he's awesome. Any time you watch one of his matches, your jaw lengthens a bit. He's that manly. Thanks for the vid, I'll def. watch it.
  4. If Eb's a Nazi, I'm the Gestapo. Sieg heil!
  5. Mac, I wouldn't bother in CS2. That combo is incredibly character-specific, and is so easy to whiff in an actual match it's not funny. In CSEX j.B's untech time makes this combo much more viable (it's also j.B -> j.A in CSEX where it's the opposite in CS2). I instead do IAD j.B -> Hotaru -> AD -> j.2c -> etc. because it's relatively the same, but way easier and only costs 3s off 3c CH. But if you really want to practice, then use Ragna. His hitbox is probably the best one. J.A and j.B also have to hit at right the last pixel/moment in order for 2c to hit. Good luck.
  6. Awesome meet. I won some games too!!! That is the Power of Mash (and a bit of holiday training). :D Set rotation sounds good to me, and I think shouldn't be too hard to program. @Kirb: Yes, we need to matchup so I can give you ALL OF MY MONEY POINTS! 'til next time, guys. Foonzo has way better atmosphere than it used to.
  7. I might sub Relius. He's got the cool vibe like the Hakuman and Valkenhayn. I might also be able to pop in Foonzo a couple times more often than usual this semester. I'm going to be house keeping for a family friend in MTL until end of Feb., and it's much faster to get to Foonzo than from Noweheresville, West Island. Plus, I don't have to worry about missing my train, too, which is awesome. :D
  8. So Abyss Mode is basically like GGAC+'s survival mode with all the stat boosts & powerups? Awesome! One of my fave modes in any game. Q: I don't see it mentioned here, but do you also gain stats such as atk/def/speed/etc. boosts like in GGAC+, or is it more vanilla with just powerups?
  9. U mad. Get @ me, bro.
  10. ^^ Come out to MTL, Roldy. Forget school; be cool. Get at us, bros. We're doing this.
  11. Hmm... I'm skeptical too. But Qwerty has a point. 6a was the only thing he was really missing aside from meter (a reliable anti-air). Now he's got dmg and carry, and cool-ass combos on top of that (which is worth a tier point on its own, imo). Well, I'm just glad I practiced my Valk in CS2. Now my mains are S. I have no qualms anymore. CSEX is best version. :3
  12. Oh man, I love you guys. Great direction this is taking. :D ----- @Blade: We love you. Yes homo. Now come out more! <3 ----- Tourney around march break sounds great. Different march break dates for different ppl, though. Mine is at the end of feb, for ex. We should plan for the time when most of us are off for best convenience. Imo, date priority would go to those outside of MTL for best attendance rate. TO, MI, NY, etc. guys, when's the best time for you?
  13. @Leo: I still salty. :< I also had a post written up, but the thread got closed just as I submitted. So to summarize so I don't waste a perfectly good rant: the problem is not the support, it's the lack of a scene as large as that of Capcom's. Thus, BB is perceived as not having support when comparable turnout is "poor". Let's face it, BB is cut not because of poor attendance, but simply because SFxT has a larger crowd. BB simply cannot match the Capcom force for sheer numbers. So yeah, I salty, and I'll stay salty. Fuck Capcom and their shitty fighters that hog the spotlight. 'Kay, I'm done. G'night ya'll, and rep that CSEX. MTL loves you guys. :3
  14. Just sayin' that we shouldn't be beholden to other tourneys happening for us to have a legit tourney. Nemesis, MAT 8, etc., c'mon. If what we've seen at Otakuthon is any indication, there's an audience for BB in MTL. We just need to reach out somehow, and we'll have us a tourney that's animu-only. None of that Crapcom shitte. We just need confidence, belief, and GUTS! Bring the inner Bang out because MTL needs to represent!
  15. BREAK FROM THE CAPCOM PROLETARIAT, CITIZEN! It is time to flourish, to grow as a people! We are MTL! We do not submit, we do not give in! If we are to take the crown, we must take center stage! Induce a continuum shift! Tear up the impossible, and break down preconceptions! Forget Nemesis! We are the brigade of Love and Peace! BLAZING TAMASHI! BELIEVE IN THE MTL THAT BELIEVES IN YOU! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?! GUREEEEEEEEEEEN MTLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!
  16. Yeah, let's run CSEX. I don't even play that game, and I say CSEX. No reason to stick to shitty CS2 by now. ... If it's happening. What's going on with the Nemesis situation? I think we're just big enough ourselves now that we can run our own tourney. F Nemesis, it's time to instate Blazin' Love! (Or any form of better name ya'll can come up with)
  17. 5am post, aww yeah! Happy New Year! May the MTL scene grow ever larger and more dominant, and may other nations recognize our superiority! :3 And now, to sleep...
  18. Ok, I played the first really good Tao I've met in a long time yesterday, and I think this perhaps Haku's worst matchup in CS2. The main reason for this is that Tao can run circles around you moreso than other zoners/mobility chars (Lambda, Hazama, Valk, etc.). Still, I don't think that changes much in the approach, you just have to be much more attentive than in other matchups because she can mix you up very quickly. Hotaru is useful, but I think its range of usefulness ends anywhere above Haku-height. This is because you'll want to use Hotaru to stuff air approach or to catch her when she's not barrier-ing (especially useful in the corner). Air-to-air isn't good because of its poor horizontal hitbox, though it does beat out some stuff. I'll reiterate that you need to keep moving and don't stay on the ground too long. I mentioned earlier that j.B is your friend. This is a bit incorrect, since her low profile move can beat this out clean. You can beat low-profile with j.2C, but her 6a (I think) either beats that outright or trades. So choose wisely. Air throw is gdlk on reaction. If she tends to jump around you too much, this can be a good move to use. Also, I think this is one matchup where you can be less conservative on stars, and use a bit more for some extra dmg since her HP is the lowest in the game. You really want to end this one quick so she doesn't turn you into catnip. About counters, I agree that they're riskier here. Taos still have some patterns they automate that you can exploit, but aside from that, DO NOT use D just because you think they're about to attack. It WILL get you CH'd. Overall, keep moving and don't try to chase too much, but don't be shy to close the distance and get them to act. Also watch out for reversal supers when she has 50%. It's a tough match, but her low HP and Haku's control of space make this manageable.
  19. CHIN!!1! :D Great stuff, Schneider. I just love watching Chin's movements, they're so far superior to most other Hakus it's not funny. I'm going to do some osmosis here.
  20. I might be down for Friday. I'm getting back into shape a bit, so it won't be as horrible as last time, lol.
  21. ^ If you mean Haku's doing more dmg, then yes. If I could "like" this post, I would.
  22. Lol, you don't have to if you don't want. Just saying that if you happen to want to get some matches in, my room's open.
  23. It's coming out in a month or two for us mere mortals. Hold tight!
  24. Thanks, bud. I'll check that stuff out. If you want to, you can hop on now since I'm training this guy. Maybe you can show him how Hazama's played if you're up to it.
  25. Think lowliest of lowly scrub who has a hard time wrapping his head around FG inputs and is in the totally wrong mentality for fighters. I'll show him the combo, though. Thanks!
