Sure, send e'm over by PM or just post it in this thread. I'll add what you've done to the OP. Thanks for the work! On another note, I'm not quite sure in which direction to bring the list. The interaction of mag, starter, distance to corner, situation, positioning, and character-specifics is getting more complex with every iteration of the game, so it's becoming more difficult to organize it coherently. Listing every variation is simply not feasible, which is one reason why I went with the format I did. On the other hand, even minor variations can be significant and change how the combo works out. I'll have to give it some thought. Otherwise, we're stuck with the OP for now and the tweaks we'll add in.
-
xD Ok Eb, I guess I'll at least get it nice and clean once I have time to sit down and do it.
-
Hmm... Since I'm posting here more often now, I might update the first post unless ya'll have something else in mind? I'll clean up the OP a bit to remove outdated combos and add in the more common ones being used right now.

More simply, Haku's got tools, but you can't autopilot like, say, Ragna. You have to synthesize his tools into a workable gameplan that fits your style while accommodating his strengths and weaknesses. So there's a lot of variables to play with. Your ability will be to bring it all together and flow with it. And that is why Hakumen attracts only the best and brightest as our dear Spark so aptly demonstrated with his EVO win.

I might not go to T12 after all. Cost + that weekend aren't good for me. I really want to go, but the matchup isn't in my favour. -

Nini sells his date on the black market. ----- Gj on the vid, Pedro. It's awesome. :D -
Yes, quite right. For me, rushdown simply implies applying constant pressure so they don't get to breathe. I'm fine with being aggressive even when low on stars, so I'm comfortable with it. In general, you'll want to have solid fundamentals, and this means knowing your character. If you can play SF with Haku, you can choose any style you want. Be aware of your options as SansProtocol says above. There are probably some "training regimens" you can give a shot once you've gotten better with Haku. Some I've done include: 1) Playing with the D button unbinded. (No bursts, no counters) 2) No specials, only normals. 3) Only counters or throws. 4) Turtling up to X# of mag before going on the offensive. 5) No attacking, only blocking/throw break. 6) No mag, no normals, Mugen only, Adventus! Etc., you get the idea. They all train something different. Try it out! Once you achieve a certain level of proficiency with Haku, you'll just... flow. Everything becomes intuitive, you'll react to overheads and counter their stuff every time. They'll rarely get a hit in because you can block it all. I love when that happens.
-
Lol, only do rushdown if that's your style since Hakumen isn't an intuitive character for that. Knowing these is good for 0s play, but don't go all gung-ho if you're primarily a defensive player. Hakumen works well with both styles, so there's no need to switch around to something you're not. Hazama is also a very difficult character to pin down as his zoning is very frustrating to deal with, and he has a ton of options to deal with your approach. He can be pigeonholed through conditioning, though you'll first have to expect to block a lot more than in most matchups.

Double post, but new A-Cho has a part where the Haku deals with DP block by doing Gurren CH: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Ij1si8k9w#t=16m30s

New A-Cho up and second vid has a good bit of Litchi v. Haku. I think the Haku is Kakyuu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Ij1si8k9w Fellow Hakumens, witness the Master Troll at his finest in the above. At 10:40 he exposes his setup in a grand paroxysm of shock and awe! His brilliant mind conceives a plan well in advances, and sees it through to maximum troll effect. Such is the credo all Hakumens aspire to. You would do well to learn his superior mind games.

Awesome job, Pedro! Hope that didn't take too long to do, I didn't actually think you'd get down to it. Much thanks, man. :D I might show up tomorrow since I'm recovered from being sick and might have some free time after all. Yay! :D -
Whoops, mised this response, sorry. You have a ton of options, actually, but I don't think of it that way. I just use whatever move is best to use in the given situation. Of course, that's not helpful, so here's a specific list: - Throw - 2a -> 6a -> 3c - Most any normal on CH -> 3c - Counters - Air hit -> 5a/b or 2c -> j.2a -> AD j.2a -> j.C - 3c CH (close) -> 2b -> 5a -> j.2a -> yadda yadda - j.C -> 4c Etc., etc., etc. I could list more for more specific situations, but the gist of it is that you should poke for spacing, time, pressure, and harassment. When playing rushdown, you're looking to pressure in any way you can. This means also doing a/b blockstrings and whatnot. Just play fundamentals; I strongly believe Haku is the best in the BB cast at this! EDIT: I forgot to add the important part: RUSH RUUUSHHH RUUUUUUUUUSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Oh, I forgot to add that you can also do counters aside from 3c on block. You can time 5D so that it'll catch Litchi if she starts getting too close as the staff hits.
-
J.2c will beat DP, but the timing is strict and specific, so I wouldn't recommend it at all. The active hitbox has to hit the staff as it becomes a projectile without it hitting Haku's active box. In other words, late j.2c on late DP. I wouldn't bet on getting that consistent. How you deal with blocking DP comes in two forms, I think, though IB isn't necessary but it helps. First is min range block and second is max range block. Ok, so first blocking case, I don't remember if you should IB if you want to do 5c -> combo (not because of blockstun, but pushback), but I think you should be able to regardless (Litchi is at -23 anyway so it doesn't matter, lol. Just use something else). This range should be where the staff won't hit you at all on the way down. Second case is for max range block, and 3c should work. I usually just block instead since I always seem to get hit by the falling staff. But if you guys say 3c works, then go for it. If DP whiffs, punish will depend on range. You can do 5c/3c/Gurren, Enma, or 4c depending on range. Jumping in/out or plain blocking also work.

Pretty sure that's Tenchi. He and 0 are the only ones I know who use red Haku, and I think 0 traitorously switched to Mu. Anyone here who can read Moon should be able to confirm.

Urgh, I've been sick all night and have my first class today. I'll be passing by Foonzo, but that's about it. Yay! You remembered. :D Will you be there after 2pm? I think I'll pass by to at least pick up my controller. ----- @JF: It's ok! I didn't mean it that way! I <3 you for <3'ing Spark! No homo, though. -

It's pretty much just the link Nini gave (starting @45:55). I don't think I have any program that can download that stream so I can't cut it up and post it on YT as much as I'd like to. -
Ya'll like watching Haku suffer, huh? HUH?! D: ----- My favourite matchup is between great players. Can't beat that.

Awesome, thanks! I might get around to the others, too. Haku's name is Hikage, never heard of him. His PSR is among the upper tier, though (For reference, A-92, the best JP Haku, has a ~236 PSR last I checked). Still a really good Haku, though. He isn't the best I've seen, but he's definitely among the best. -

Meetup Tuesday at Foonzo, eh? What time? I'll be there. Pedro, if you're there, could you bring my Ps2 controller too? You've had it for ages now. xD -
Offline is awesome if you have a scene, and it's a better game to boot. Don't dismiss online, though. If your connections are decent, it's still good just to practice the game and get some matchup exp. I'm always on the offensive even with 0s. Then again, I play RTSD Haku. Nothing stops you from using counters or playing SF, you just won't be dealing a ton of dmg. It's usually my default since I like blue and it's an easy C button press. I otherwise main all colors at random and go for Manga Haku when I'm serious/tourney time.

I dunno 'bout T12, guys. My BB play really deteriorated in the past couple months. Plus, I might be working that weekend. D: We'll see. I'll check out Foonzo this week if I have time, though, since Uni's starting up again. Any meetups? -
Can't forget the SBO qualifier vids! http://www.dustloop.com/forums/content.php?200-Blazblue-CS2-SBO-2011-Qualifier-Videos I see blocks B-1, F-3, and F-4 have Hakus, but I only did a very quick check. B-1 has A-92 and another really impressive Haku, so check those out for sure! Btw, A-92 made it to SBO as the the only Haku. Awesome. I think he lost in B-1 up there, but made it in B-4, which isn't included, sadly.

Plat is a noob character. Easy autopilot shit all over and it's frikkin' annoying. That said, don't mash 4c and you're fine just playing Haku SF-style with strong defense, projectile cutting, and poking pressure, which is pretty just playing Haku the way he should be played. There's nothing particularly special to pay attention to regarding your gameplan in this matchup. Plat's got shenanigans to watch out for, such as her command grab, items, heart car, and corner CH combos which lead to 5k+. For other specifics, they've been listed in this thread already.
