Getting Persona broken is a problem. 8C is a good way to keep asterios safe and keep your opponent honest, even though when I was playing, 90% of the time people were not even able to recognize when I was doing the move, so they just got hit anyways. Otherwise it's just a matter of using guard while hanging back and doing good rushdown, so they focus on you more than the Persona. Elizabeth is pretty good at breaking asterios, but she is also painfully succeptable to 8C if she is focusing too much on your persona.

Watching Japanese players gave me the impression that S.Lab is really hard to use and controlling her Persona is difficult, but after playing, she is pretty easy to play overall (execution wise), and I'm surprised at the lack of extended persona combos they go for given how easy they are to setup. I'm looking forward to actually getting to try training mode, I got a lot of things running through my head already for her.

Sure, I guess? I don't have a problem with calling myself the best. The few times I ever lose is to Sol Badguy's "I <3 lag" fighting style. It's funny how all of Sol's normals can be sidestepped effortlessly in offline, but not online. I know those Japanese guys hate it so bad when I use my laggy guard break setups.

If anyone wants to play just INVITE ME. I don't go on myself anymore, and I don't ever invite anymore, because I get tired of sitting around for nothing when I try to set something up. I'm pretty much always up to play, but I'm not the only one that uses my 360, so that might make it hard to catch me. I'm just not wasting a second of my time setting something up. Other people can set it up for a change, if they really want to play.

Has anyone tried the Razer Onza controller for 360? It looks nice, but it sounds like it's designed more for FPS games rather than fighters. Would greatly appreciate if anyone could confirm the quality of the D pad for fighters.

Why would they do that to Noel? Completely stupid.

[CS2] Platinum the Trinity Actual Discussion Thread The First
PandaKingEX replied to Circuitous's topic in Archive
Does anyone find Platinum's fighting style to be a little more simplistic than you may have originally expected? I thought she would be a bit more wacky and magical in how she played, but she just seems like a pretty simple rushdown character with a couple of interesting zoning options. -
Does anyone know if this takes a stronger PC to run than Blazblue? Looks interesting, but I don't know if my computer is good enough for it.

I'm having a hard time understanding how the wolf 5a>5b>236b>j236a>j236b>9C>jB>jB>land>5d>5b>etc combos work. Is the timing really that strict, or is there some special way to land these more consistently? I've also been trying to do the variation as well with the wolf 5b relaunch into human jb. I've yet to even land either of them once, so I could really use some tips on what to look for in order to land these combos.

Why does nobody play Guilty Gear 2: Overture?
PandaKingEX replied to PandaKingEX's topic in Guilty Gear General
That's how Aksys is with all their games. It's because they know their stuff is in a niche and somewhat timeless category, unlike other mainstream games that are hype driven fads that lose their appeal a week later when something else is coming out. They don't feel the incentive to drop the price right off the bat. This is why Nintendo almost never drops the price of their games until years later, because their games are going to be purchased by new console adopters long after their initial release. -
I need to get some videos up of my matches with Japanese players so bad. Crappy Naruto Storm 2 distracted me, and now KoF 2002 UM. Need to get more gg2 hype.

Hidan is actually pretty crappy against decent players. You can substitute his hits, and then flip away to avoid the rest. If your opponent tries to grab, you can just substitute it and punish them in the back. You can also buffer your chakra and go for a KnJ cancel jutsu/ougi. He is good for distracting your opponent so you can charge, or whatever, but I prefer someone like Chiyo when it comes to hit confirming into specials, and dealing damage.

Dude, I wanted to punch that Sin player in the face. He was not taking advantage of Sin's range at all, and didn't capitalize on so many punish opportunities. All these guys are new to me, though. Never seen any of them around, and they seemed to play pretty poorly at times too. It's hard to ever tell on Triora, though, since Triora is a lulz map for 2v2. Btw, I guess that's why I never see you on. Me, AJ, Kirby, and some other old time regulars have got together and played a few times, but I haven't played with you or Sol, since I've had my new internet.

I like the turn button, though. It actually gives a layer of depth and mindgames being able to just turn around and run away or do other weird stuff. Man I love every guilty gear game so much, and it's kind of disappointing that other people can't accept/appreciate all the different things that it tries.

Why does nobody play Guilty Gear 2: Overture?
PandaKingEX replied to PandaKingEX's topic in Guilty Gear General
It's actually pretty popular in Japan, maybe not in massive numbers, but it's the only reason I've been able to play the game for so long, by playing with the Japanese players. A lot of them have been playing this game practically every single day since it's release, and it's been out for 2+ years over there. This game has in Japan what I crave for it to have in America. -
Why does nobody play Guilty Gear 2: Overture?
PandaKingEX replied to PandaKingEX's topic in Guilty Gear General
Yeah, I think it should have been multiplat. The 360 only move is probably one of the bigger reasons why this never went anywhere outside of Japan. As for living up to AC, well, that is a tough one. I think if you're not locked to a specific genre, and just enjoy the qualities of AC, like it's incredible depth, balance, variety, and competitiveness, you could still enjoy overture, as all those aspects are still present. edit: oops, sorry for double post, meant to edit my last. -
Why does nobody play Guilty Gear 2: Overture?
PandaKingEX replied to PandaKingEX's topic in Guilty Gear General
I'm not trolling. Genuinely interested in why this game never picked up, and if there is ever any hope for it. Nobody likes seeing a game they love dearly go nowhere. -
I've played this game for a considerable amount of time, and enjoyed many great matches with friends, along with long months of practice and beatdowns that I went through in order to be able to hold my own against the Japanese community. My time with this game has been fantastic, and I find it to be one of the most unique games to ever exist. I just have to ask, why is it that nobody ever really bothered to get into this game? I understand that reviews were not really positive, and that a lot of people might be turned off by it not being a 2d fighter. Despite that, I still thought that this game would have developed some type of small faithful following, although I guess it has if you count me and a few others, but still...There is just far too much quality in this game for it to be overlooked to the point that you could forget that it even exists. Anyways, I'm interested in hearing what you guys have to say, and even more interested in knowing if there is any way possible to create a scene for this game, as I can promise you that it is worth playing.

By the way that John Talbain looks a lot like Repede as well, or at least I like it more when I think of it as a Repede color, lol.

True that. He tried to use wolf form a few times, though, and Hakumen was slapping him out of it like it was nothing, that was pretty much what made me think what I did, since I already knew his human form was probably going to be weak in approaching. Guess we just gotta wait til people figure his wolf form out, and how to take advantage of his range on his normals.
-
In the Hakumen vs. Valk matches, it looks like Valk has one hell of a hard time getting in. Still too early to make any solid calls yet, but it seems like he might have to work hard for his hits.
