  1. 3D would work to catch him if he backdashes behind nirvana.
  2. I'll elaborate. try 2A 2B 3C 5 [2]D IAD j.C allecan. This method gives Nirvana more time to teleport to the appropriate side. If you have a feeling in your gut that she still may teleport to the wrong side when you jump, jump backwards a little bit before airdashing. That way you're on the side that Nirvana needs to be on a tiny bit longer.
  3. To be honest I don't use that setup. I practiced it a long time ago but my success rate was too inconsistent. If you use the IAD method you'll have a longer window for nirvana to teleport to the appropriate side than by doing the 236A method.
  4. Pretty good. One thing I noticed is that when you do the throw loop, you don't throw her closer to the ground. If you want to get off as many throws as possible with the least amount of meter you'll have to do that so you can land quick enough to relaunch her.
  5. NOVALANCHE I'll be back at school today.
  6. Maybe its just an execution barrier. A year from now, any carl player who puts in the effort will be doing really fast wavedashes across the stage. IDK
  7. Wow so Carl can technically dash with not recover at the end? Awesome. Just from the vids that I've seen dash allegretto is a great move to catch your opponent off guard because visually its so fast. And it appears safe too because he's so low to the ground when he does it. I definitely plan to use it.
  8. I was thinking the same thing but I justify it this way: you see the setups in the videos i mentioned, plus the setups we're talking about in the past few post. Mix things up and use all of these at various setups to keep your opponent guessing. There's an answer for every thing the opponent can throw at you when getting up.
  9. I"m still around to help out I guess.
  10. check out the orange carl player in the new vids autonomousR posted. He's got not nice setups after a knockdown from 8D and 2D. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=AutonomousR#p/u/7/-XpJ4cDCIjQ
  11. Let the opponent fall. And have a 2D coming down on them when they get up. Then go for a 3C for the unblockable setup. You kind of have to guess when they get up, but its a descent setup.
  12. Personally I would think that 3C woudl be better or UB's than 2B. Its active longer than 2B and goes forward so it has a better chance of catching someone who rolls away from you. One downside to 3C however is if you do it too soon and the opponent neutral techs you can actually go under them and completely miss.
  13. Dude CS has been interesting. Carl's mixup game can finally shine with out the throw loop. Although I'll miss it. By the way I've been praticing the 2D loop. Junk is hard.
  14. Yeah man GGs. He has a lot of combos. A lot of stuff that I do is often spontaneous.
  15. no clue j.B - j214C - ]8[D x 2/3 is a legit corner loop. After that you can do a TK'd j.214C - ]8[D for one last rep of hits.
  16. Wow all this time I did not know that. Thats definitely gonna take some getting use to. Ug...
  17. No tips besides just practice practice practice. Honestly if this is your first day at using a stick you shouldn't expect so much. patience. Just concetrate on getting the 96 or 74 motion down pack. I've been using stick for years and it took me a few daYs to incorporate 22D into my IAD j2C allecan combos. Just concentrate on doing the motions properly. Slowly if you have to.
  18. No shortcuts. Honestly there will be things that'll take a couple of weeks to get use to. For me it was airdashing and shoryukens. So yeah just keep on practicing. With sticks you will without a doubt have a "better" side. Doing a motion on side is easier than the other. Period.
  19. Yes you can do it. You have to start out somewhere. Take it from me, the whole "if you're new or suck at fighting games don't pick 'this' character" mentality is false. Guilty Gear was the first game I entered tournaments in, and I mained Zappa, one of the hardest characters in the game to learn. If you like Carl, you can go far with him.
  20. I'm gonna go and say no. I say this only because according to you, you've only had this game a couple of days and you seem to be determined to start beating people with him immediately. When I first got BB, sure I did player matches but I stayed away from Ranked match for a week. I was in training mode constantly. Carl takes effort, and hours training mode is necessary to get him down. Weeks and weeks of practice. I have a 73% win rate with Carl and there are plenty of other Carl players who are better than I am because they put in the effort. So if you're discouraged about playing Carl (the hardest character in the game to play besideds Rachel) after only a couple of days, I'd say no. If you're willing to do the dirty work and practice then I'd say stick with him. Carl is A tier for a reason. I didn't play anyone else to get use to the game. I played Carl in the beginning. To be honest I believe that kind of mentality is a trap. You'll end up playing someone else and then think that you'll later go back and pickup Carl, but you'll find yourself just sticking with the first character because you're already good with him/her and don't want to go through the headache of learning Carl. Some first steps on learning Carl: 1. Read the guides 2. Watch TONS of videos. go to youtube.com/autonomousR. You'll have to go back through several pages of his videos but he easily has the biggest collection of Carl videos on youtube. Watch as many Calamity Trigger videos to your heart's content to see what the heck you're suppose to do with this kid.
  21. Good to hear it man. Keep it up.
  22. Well if you're gonna be playing CS then you BETTER keep posting. >=(
  23. yeah sure thing. Funny thing, I just fixed my stick yesterday.
  24. To all the carl players I am once again bebe0330. Not NOVALANCHE. I'll become NOVALANCHE again later in January.
  25. Eternal I do think you were a little harsh.
