  1. okay, so im reading this... the bears dont work as well as you say they do because, of zappa's quick run speed...and how low to the ground zappa is when running forward, as well as his backdash...zappa can backdash yo-yo call back as well as roger rush(the punch bear), razor bear activates incredibly slow giving you enough time on reaction to just run forward...depending upon the placement zappa can actually run driectly under the razor bear if it is mid air, and not close to the ground.. The ghost, im not sure what toss and button does what....however....the toss the zappa shoots the ghost straight up in the air and it lands on your head is 6s on reaction punishable due to the fact that zappa extends his hitbox vertically giving him the height to be hit by it and on counter.I look for the zappa player to do a ghost toss upward and shoot out 6s each time...its incredibly important to try and get midair and fire them, or frc a ghost toss directly in the air...bridget can easyly fd 4 jump away from a forward throw. with the sword there's an attack where your thrusting the sword forward,a dn then you pull directly back, and catches you if you tried to attack giving zappa some orbs i think three of them....on block bridget can also 6s hit you on counter for a knockdown and oki on his part.Any other attack that you do after a sword is on counter punishable and bridget can do 2s to get this combo, the best offensive option i seen with the sword was rc'ing the thrust mive, and running up and throwing since your at an insane amount of frame advantage...dont get reckless witht he sword because bridget has good ways to dead with it. The dog can be killed easyly by bridget just 4 jumping all over the place and doing yo-yo call backs, as well as hitting zappa since he can no longer summon. roah dominates pretty much, but i got very used to blocking roah because zappas lengthens when he goes for his dust making it not too hard to block on reaction i learned never to jump because of how much tension u need to fd a dp in the air. In my opinion zappa's best tools are, vomit..his backdash...adn ability to run underneath many things including some of bridget attacks such as f.s

    hmm, are u getting a walk...instead of a run, when im doing a call back combo i just call back(muscle memory from practice mode) 66 then combo after ward to a knockdown....the callback give you plenty of time to run up and tack on some extra hits...do 66 as soon as your hear bridget is done screaming out the yo-yo comeback quote(in japanesse) and 5k, or 2k combo.
  3. the grab failures were pretty funny, but im really wondering...why is it that no one ever barrier guards anything? And as rachel i would think that would be your first priority..to back your opponent out of range so you can get your grounds back.

    i been doing alot better with bridget, i really under estimated how good 2s(instead of jumping doing 2k on block) is with him, and i have also learned that you get alot of your damage from, oki as well as from trying to catch your opponents escape method when being offensive, i got the run-away yo-yo callback razor shennigans done packed....my question is though, IN a few videos i seen bridget roll after you hold the hs button, i have tried to roll while having the yo=yo callback on hold and have not been able to do so....why is this?
  5. i use counter assult definitley in this match-up, espically if he burst me right into the corner. i did notice that ragnas normal pressure stringd extended with his drive attacks takes off a hug chunk of your guard bar, if u barrier block you wont be able to punish in place where u could have if you didnt, and if he rapids off sumthing got damn! i never noticed how much guard bar damage he does until recently.....however...players never take advantage of this by paying the guard bar any attention so once its broken they just finish there string as though they normally, meaning they took no advantage of a free new combo they coulda have started, after a combo reset performed on you by ragna the cat chair, if you know in your mind they will run up and jesus kick(5b) and you have the frames to do(to activate the chair because there is start up u cant do it if you dont have the opening) so helps, but besides that u have to block if he running straight toward you after a knockdown you can not escape!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the almighty jesus kick and attacking will get u hit on counter ^.^ !

    the only i see bridget getting a knockdown from air combo bread and butters, would be through catching the opponent before they air dash away from the corner with an air throw. I have three questions though In videos i have been watchin recently, i seen many times ov3er, f.s into ksmh-p is that a frame trap inorder to catch opponents looking for you to 6set cancel off f.s? In videos i havent seen any midscreen relyable oki set-ups off ksmh-p, would a 6set roger get set-up be relyable? and using 2s to catch an opponents escape?If so couldnt the opponent simply instant air toward u for both options 3p hits on non-counter, whats your next move?
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o26QwT80g8U Rachel vs noel after the hakumen vs noel vid, the rachel player wasnt very good, and i can tell he hasnt been up to date on certain things...but i saw a few interesting combos...this video is an example of a player not taking advantage of rachel full, he rushdown when rachel lacks the tools to do so, and never zoned.(Goes back to not following everything we see a jap player do)

  10. oh so the pumpkin, hit hazama after he did his super is what ur saying, and rachel blocked it...but i thought the second rachel was hit the pumpkin disappears unlike it did in ct when winding it, also i finally saw rachel brake an opponents guard....i think this is the second time she has done this, i also her seen her doing this against another rachel player. I really dislike the guard libra system now, character specific guard brake libras????? wtf! and rachel has only four, while i seen some other with like 8 or so mayb more
  11. This match was epic, i loved it so much, it was so many funny moments. I wonder how unsafe that uppercut super truely is, once the player managed to block it but didnt punish it... That player also went for many many throw attempts, and the wind really charges much to slow...if anything that and the pumpkin should be given a buff, the short range is kool...but the time limit and lengthen summon animation was a bit harsh.

    You reply really fast i edited and proof-read my previous post and add some things. It seems your saying that as a bridget player u need to implement the best ways out of an offensive while being on the defense, and punish more abuseable attack like that, can u use this same tactic on chip's j.hs, and sol's j.hs/j.dust? from my memory i feel recall chip's j.hs being a bit more diffcult to deal with then ky's j.hs because i know u can 6p ky atleast while i had alot of trouble doing so against chip..and u will never ever unless ur maybe ky' 6p'ing....anti aba j.hs.

    That makes alot of sense, however i do runaway more then anything when playing bridget, and after doing so against all my firends , people in my community have now gotten very accustomed to my run away tactics, and eventually do catch me, its not terribly hard to block mix-ups...but when theres like a frc throw situation alot of times u will get throw into damage, also.... ky has a jump possibly j.hs attack, where's he is at enough frame advantage to go for a throw or block string mix-up. Movement is cool and its fun, but not landing a hit, or your opponent not falling for your shennagins u have to find a way to put out some damage, so u can get them to make a mistake...i honestly think if i just keep playing the game more and more, and see what people generally fall for and find ways to get my opponent to run into things based on how often it happens when playing different players it will be easier for me. its definitley not mindless gimmicks, like set a frog down(rachel) and you opponent is against the wall but not nearly enough to trap them with a lobelia+a, to then just start shooting out lobelia b's and adjust when neccesary with wind because your opponent is going to jump the frog obviously, they always try and jump the frog....which is why im really not liking what they have down to it in cs. But what i havent been trying is, us 2s to get back dash escapes, i got to use 6s..but its to slow to use on a jump reaction type basis...such as a situation where u roger get from way high up, u have alot of options after this...on block...a combo on hit, and then some will try and jump it...i wait for all the options and noticed that 6s will not catch on a jump i see u in the air reaction basis.

  15. well i didnt say anything because it was only going to mostly negative....i enjoyed watching that rachel player against bang and also taokaka somewhat......the negative thing that i wanted to say was that it seems as though taokaka can just randomly drive around, and just do random air pokes on rachel and it really works on her...

    thanks, i edited my last post btw, thanks alot baring with my mistyped posts...im gonna double read from now on, (im not to sure what rstd means jais xD) in order to possibly get these frametraps, i need to just space enough where they will be forced to get hit by 2p if i need damage to gain the life advantage and to help prevent my opponent from making things more difficult from a far.If my opponent super jumps over my head, to avoid walking past the yo-yo midscreen...i will simply use my 4 jumps to get to the other side to reset the situation instead having to reset my yo-yo. i noticed, a friend of mine, always seems to super jump instant airdash backward from roger rush midscreen and 6s doesnt meet his escape in time, do your believe roger rush isnt a great way to extend your pressure midscreen? I do the approciate strings to push him back into the yo-yo activate the bear and then he just jumps back away. Alot of players make the mistake of tryin to air dash forward toward bridget where they will meet an air throw, or 6p...but when they instant air dash back there nothing u really can do right? Thanks for helping out everyone, i dont mind losing when i play against my community due to the fact that they all have had a whole shit load more time with guilty gear then i have had, however i do wanna improve and try to atleast provide as much as challenge as i can give them.And consistently improve my bridget the best way i can.I also realize that bridget is not the best or easiest character to win an entire match with....but it would be nice to win matches more consistently non-the-less.

    I do run away a whole lot, and try to catch my opponent when there in situations where i could air throw, if they are tryin to escape something...the problem with air throws are though they do happen they happen rarely for me because players attack to cover there jump out(and are to high up to get hit with 6p).When running away people do evidently catch you, or air throw u before u get away and i tried to attack to cover my jump but sometimes i still get air thrown, and sometimes characters have things they can do at a distance that will benefit them once they get in, like jam can get all her symbols, orders sol can charge up, so when they evidently do get in it will be even harder to deal with there pressure, if the opponent your are facing does have the life lead then it will be important to find away to lock them down so you can put damage on them, can imagine doing your best to catch a fleeing millia rage? And lol i was trying to run low profile, against ky but it doesnt work, like u mean run and do 2k to make there jump in whiff right? Millia, chipp, and bridget are all movement characters, however chipp's pressure is an insanely better then both of them, and millia has techinques that allow her to move in without worry.
  18. damn lol fought another carl, and lost to him...after destorying him the first time around...i got bursted while i was blocking his fast as strikes(during the second match) and it broke my guard and then he did that cog distrotion drive after that he just poke around at me in the corner and theres was nuthing i could because my attacks do not beat any of his, air to air or ground to ground its extremely hard locking carl down, after nirvanna breaks im not even going to chase him its way to much effort.

    at neutral game, My question is against characters with a puff ball and stun edge as well as a move that goes under pokes, and also a fireball, behind the yo-yo to go for midscreen rolling when u dont have the pressure or tools neccesary to force or make them block any other way.
  20. i actually ran into some trouble with a carl, though it was laggy as shit online im not sure, i beat him 17 times but he did manage to beat me 6, the thing that kept gettin me is him mashing j.a, 5.a, j.b i think to get out of pressure, these and some other moves come out lighting fast and have more range then your normals do that normally would work in other situation where you could have lockdown. Generally when i tried to pressure him her would super jump and start mashing j.a and i could reach and 6a is far to slow to interpret that move, if i brought him to the groung via pumkin his j.a still beat me after i landed and canceled into 5b several times. its a real pain.
  21. seriously man i seen alot of vids of the jap players i see way to much rushdown when its not neccesary, and they practically give match that way,i seen alot of stupid ways top restore wind as well. Im not saying there skilled but we shouldnt just follow everything we see a japanesse player do and think its the best way to go just because there doing it.I think tis better to think for ourselves after we had a chance to play and evaluate what may be the best option

    I dont know why they made his(bridget's) 2d so hard by changing the time u can do when u trip But anyway, im still a bit rusty with bridget( and i have to buy another accent core)..i played two friends out of my community one used jam and the other used ky, I been watching alot of video of bridget that i haven seen before to get a feel for how to pressure with him. I noticed on some vids that they get the opponent between him and the yo-yo thru 7 and 4 sets.....but the question is, against both jam and ky how do u even get to implement any kinda of pressure any way. the one jam player would super jump way above my head and my air to air versus jam, bridgets jump attacks were getting beat out and on counter and jam gets a nie little air combo for it.So with ky, stun edge(when frc gives him automatic pressure on block) altough i 2k'd under them, still doesnt net me close enough to punish or even pressure him, and some of ky's pokes like 6.hs i think it is(the one the stuns u on hit) and another one that was a frame trap in slash..where he did a long forward thrust and then canceled it into stun edge and would repeat keeps me at bay, a few of jams normals, beat alot of bridgets shit. So, my basic question is how do i get my opponent pressured when they are doing the above tactics and i do set the yo-yo behind them in a spot to be able to do rolling while midscreen.To top that off, when i did get the yo behind them they both blocked my rolling p on reaction. In the corner though i did get them both with the rolling mix-ups, one guy i he blocked standing, and i roll all the way to the ground and did 2k and caught him, and the other he got caught with the rolling j.s but i was prepared to to another rolling once i landed again to catch him. And 2p fails on both of them they just mash 2p, if i tried to pressure with a throw or another 2p or 2k and was hit or even k'd by there 2d, i even tried to starship but after doing 2p and running forward to catch them 2p spamming it was at a distance where they fell to much outside of the combo, and ky can 2p,6p if u decide to try and air dash or jump at him, while trying to pressure of 2p

To all I never used rachel because she was top tier, i decided rachel long before the game even came out when i saw the 12 characters to choose from. i was like hey she looks really kool gots a nice big dress with a nice design, hair like sailor moon and an umbrella. then when the videos came she fought really kool, and when the game came out she had a very likeable and entertaining personality. Im most definitley not switching to bang and litchi i dont like neither of those characters, even though there top tier the best two, i dont play fighting games to choose the best characters. In fact i still use bridget in guilty gear despite his horrible nerfs, and being incredibly hard to win with, i may still use rachel..its just what bridget can do versus what rachel is now..it just makes me wonder do i wanna go through the frustration of trying and trying and just getting beat because the tools arent there to win with the character. Im sure when the game reaches consoles and we all start playing it, we gonna be goin through some really tough shit. For the record i never said balanced, i said a good character, because when i fight tager and hakumens...good once's, the kinda of shit rachel can do to them i know isnt right, espically hakumen....the easiest matchup at least for me in the entire game. And i tell hakumens all the time that i believe the match-up is not fair at all, but its not gonna stop me from allowing you to cut me with your sword that has a guard point on it. I win a whole lot when playig rachel online, i been in rooms all day consistently beating people who are way above my level, i normally have streaks of like 50 or so and people come in and get beat for while then just leave then the next one comes, however, when going against higher level player who use nu, arakune(sometimes), jin, or litchi it becomes very hard to win i almost feel as though they can abuse things over and over again on rachel, in cs, arakune cant abuse anything anymore i dont see him with the great air moblity that he has in ct, and i dont see jim spamming j.b....but i do see jin raping rachel with his 5d, 2d shennigans while shes in teh corner...nu still looks the same execpt it takes longer to kill you now. litchi is a goddess.

In all honesty man, i go for guard break when i'm pressuring my opponent, as i mentioned before j.2c is punishable every way u wanna use it and once blocked thats one wind bar gone for nuthing i rarely go for the mix-up but when i do i normally hit becuase i rarely use it,bbl is great on block in the corner with extra rods for several reasons including the one u mention, this gives u enough time to reposition your pumpkin if need be, of course guard break(or for them to use barrier making it easier to maintain pressure due to it running dry enough to be pushed to far back to extend your pressure), helps restore atleast one bar of wind, and u have enough to summon a frog and if your pumpkin is out which it should be wind down to make sure the you summoning it was safe for guranteed extension in your pressure for more guard crush. however...i break guards in every match i play but i noticed, sometimes when i break there guard and there in the air, they sometimes land and is out of the long stun animation its also a bit difficult to get any thing really good in every situation if they are in the air, and with the things in cs work guard break will be seen much much less. Also i only mentioned the japanesse players because some else mentioned me to watch them play, i also believe that they arent the best examples of how rachel should be played but its something to go by.They play rachel the way that works best for them.Thanks alot for you input also btw, you really know your stuff.

I watched jap videos of rachel players, and i have seen all the players have trouble with winning there matches, though i did see a whole bunch of rachel winning and rarely losing. i see that u mentioned what makes rachel good, i really dont feel like mention what makes the other characters in the game good and what a few characters can abuse on her*cough jin litchi nu arakune* but i wont, becuase it seems as though when u a character is good there broken.SO ill let u guys thing nu isnt broken, and that rachel is this easy godess tier of blazblue and that every character in the game has such a horrible time dealing with her. And that she never loses well this is a rachel disscussion thread we are only discussing our opinions on rachel. We shouldnt have to fear the moderators. Also i like to think of rachel as blazblue's testament ^.^ btw the person who started was the one who claimed rachel was quite broken after i felt a though she wasnt
